Just to let everybody have a follow-up on the men's cowl my husband tried it out two days in a row said it was wonderful and one of the guys at work with him wants one to so Men actually do wear with their wives make
Hopefully this turns out good! Making one for hubby who is very hot natured...all the things I make him are TOO WARM 🙄
I really appreciate your sharing that information. Now I am confident about this project. Thank you!
@@togodbetheglory3353 that's really sweet!:)
You need to find another model!@@togodbetheglory3353
Hi Crystal, my name is Sally and I signed in with my husbands sign in but I will be the one responding and commenting on your channel.
I love, love, love your wonderful wonderful attitude and how positive you are. I have learned so much from watching your tutorials. You are an awesome instructor. You explain everything so clearly and you teach me step by step all the way to the end. You are the only channel I have ever subscribed to. 😘☺️
Thank you Sally 😊
SHE IS AN AWESOME TEACHER. !!!!!!!!!
I made this out if Medium weight wool for my friend who lives in Alaska. I made it smaller than 76 stitches because that was not holding the shape or heat in as well. I made a matching bun beanie to go with it. She said she’s used it a bunch already! Thanks so much!
Hi! Do you recall how many chains you made to start? I am using wool as well.
I used a 4 weight wool yarn and I believe I did 60 or 64 stitches to fit over my face and neck. But it’s really whatever best fits nicely around your neck.
@whateverislovely8654 thank you for responding! I picked up medium weight (4) wool as well. I'll do as you suggested and reduce the stitches but also check the fit as I go.
You are truly the best teacher on utube.....love from Canada🇨🇦
Revisiting this after 5 yrs. And it’s still a great pattern, great tutorial. ❤❤❤
Me too, making for my lovely 96 year old dad. He gets chilly whilst watching Netflix! Bless him xxx
Just finished my cowl.
I am very pleased with it!
Big thank you to Crystal for such a wonderful project, and easy to follow directions!!!
Thank you crystal from bag o day crochet im going to be making this men's cowl for my husband so can keep his neck toasty warm for these cold wintery days to come and itll be something warm he can make good use of in the winters I'm going to be using my colors in Hunter Green 💚 and bright Sunshine yellow 💛 also those are the two colors of one of his favorite football teams which is the Green Bay Packers so I'm sure he's going to love the men's cowl ❤ thank you for your crochet tutorial and your clear instructions 😊 anything nice and cozy warm i crochet for my husband he'll wear it❤ and he'll be wearing this neck warmer too i haven't made him a neck warmer before but i am going to try my hand at this and hope it turns out well 🥰❤️
My husband saw the men's cowl and asked if he could have one made so he could use it tomorrow it's going to be 28 degrees here in Texas and it's awful cold for him to be outside in the weather so I whipped 1 up tonight and I made it with bulky 6. 13 in Long 6 in high and he tried it on he said perfect
❤❤❤ I've made two of these for my boyfriend, he loves them so much and this is probably the easiest piece you can crochet. I finished it in a couple of hours with breaks in between. Thanks Crystal!❤❤❤
My boyfriend loved the one I made him, thank you!
Making a test cowl for myself starting now! If this pans out for me, I’ll be making one for each member of my team of ramp agents at the local airport! Much needed for those bitter cold Wisconsin mornings!!
This was really fun to crochet. What a great pattern. Thank you! Love the cabled look. I couldn't find the Ferris Wheel yarn so I used Red Heart Gemstone in Amitrine and it came out beautiful. Because it's a thicker yarn (5) I chained 60 instead of 76 and the size is perfect. I researched and found info that for this style of cowl a circumference of 18-1/2 inches is a good size so that's what I did.
Thanks for the info. I have a nice 5weight yarn that I’m going to try with your numbers!
Did you use the same size hook for your 5 yarn? I have a weighted 6 yarn
Thank-you for all your generous sharing Crystal; I am just starting my 1st one, now in August, 2020. I work in a very poor community as a support worker and am starting some projects to help our folks feel cared for & warm in the up-coming winter. I know they will love these, as they are always so grateful
I love this pattern because it look like store brought. My husband loves it too. FYI this is my very first crocket project and I am falling in love with crochet. I am looking at your other projects and I can’t make up my mind, everything looks nice. Thank you for not adding the background music because that kind of made it hard to hear your instructions. Thank you again!!
Thank you, lovely Crystal! I have been following your channel for many years and made so many wonderful creations. This neck warmer is just what I am looking for for my lovely dad. He is 96. He gets a chill around his neck whilst watching Netflix - at home! This will be perfect because he doesn't like a scarf that "gets in the way". I have always loved your tutorials and thank you x Love from Vicki in the UK x
This is the cats meow my hubby will just love it. thank- you so much.
That colorway is GORGEOUS!!
Crystal, "just like that" should be your tagine!
Thanks again. I'm going to make it for my son!
I made my dad a beanie for Christmas after he grouched at me men don't wear those things and he wouldn't use it. He put it on and loved it. Especially when he has to work outside. I made several of these cowls and I had one left so I took it over to his house yesterday and showed him how to wear it and he tried it on. He kept it over his nose and ears and was stoked. So I told him he could keep it and I'd make a green one to match his beanie. Now I'm thinking I should make him a balaclava lol
I made several of these! It's a fantastic multifunctional garment!!
It's a hit with everyone I made one for!!
Thank you to whoever sent me the tutorial now I got to resend Christmas but definitely the first one I make is for my hubby
I really love a simple pattern. This cowl is easy to make and looks beautiful. I'm making one for myself and I couldn't be more pleased. Thank you for sharing your teaching gift with us.
My husband just asked for something to keep his neck warm! Great timing!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for sharing this pattern! I was able to make this for my dad as a belated father's day gift! It was wonderful.
Very very nice. My husband will love this for 4 wheeling on his ATV
I love it!! Thank you Crystal and thank you Mr. BOD for being a great model!! Love you guys!!
I just finished this pattern and adapted it to make a matching Beanie. Love it
many men don't wear scarfs but a neck warmer is easier for them...i hope so....lovely idea and i love the colors too...:0
THANK YOU!!!! I have been looking for something just like this for all the men in my family!! Guess that I had better get busy...thank you again!!
I love this....for some reason and I don't know why I don't like doing post's but for this cowl I'm going to make it!!! Thanks Crystal🤗
I just made this cowl and then used the same yarn to make a hat. I used the Quicksilver beanie pattern. Looks nice worn together.😊
Thank you!! I'm making this as a gift for my brother 😀 i hope he will like it !!
Very nice Crystal. Thanks for sharing this.
This is very handsome. The pattern and the colors really work well together. Thank you for sharing!
Gonna make this for my husband, he is so supportive of my crochet, just like your Hubby! Thank you so much!!!💗💗💗💗
Crystal, just wanted to share one of my favorite things about your videos :) Just one of them for now, LOL... I like to watch how you choose & how you use different yarns for different projects! I think the choice for this Cowll was perfect in how the colors changed nicely. Love it!
sometimes you use a yarn you've never used in you're hoping for a certain outcome and that's not what happens lol
This is a beautiful Cowl for women too! Many of my female customers 😍 love it!
Hi , I just finished this pattern for my sister in teal for Christmas , it came out so professional looking. Thank you for sharing :)
Great cowl I’m sure a lot men would wear it❤️
Thank you so much. I always make cowls and neck/face warms for my husbands work buddies. They work in the elements. Usually they are very plain but still adored. I cant wait for them to see their new one! ❤🥰
I bought this yarn last night! Making three of these tomorrow one for each of my grown sons!
I like that a lot. What a great idea for a man. Thanks Crystal.
I started this cowl with a different yarn, and the front post double crochets were too short between the regular double crochets, so the fabric was curling up. I started over using front post double crochets with regular half double crochets, problem solved! It's turning out quite nicely, thank you for the pattern!
You’re a lifesaver!! I have the same issue and redid it like you, it turned out nicely 😊
I had the same issue as well, but this fixed it. Thank you!
Crystal love the cowl and the yarn is a beautiful color. Thank you 😊
I'm on cowl #5! I made 3 for my three sons, and two for me! I Love this pattern!!! Thank you so much for sharing it with us, y'all are so kind!!!🌺❤

Love the pattern. I've made many cowls for women, and really needed a pattern for the guys in my life. Love it!
Lovely & easier way you teach.
Glad I found this one 😊. It's on my hook now! Thank you Crystal.
Thanks for this tutorial Crystal. I’m making my first cowl with this pattern. I belong to a charitable organization this is a great addition to simple yet warm outer wear and makes a nice gift as well.
Wow! Crystal, I just LOVE this yarn you selected for this project! Already ordered 2 cakes of it for my grandson and son in-law. I know they will really admire and appreciate their warm, handsome cowl. Will post pictures when finished. You rock Crystal! Your fan in Covina, California
I made this gorgeous cowl for my son. It is wonderfully fitted and warm. It looks impressive and is a marvelous addition to a man's wardrobe in the cold of winter AND is very stylish as well. Thanks so much for this pattern and your excellent descriptive tutorial. I have come back to make another cowl in a color variation.
making this for my dad! thank you for the tutorial!! it’s turning out beautifully

Can’t wait to make this for myself!
Ooh he does doesn’t he.!
Done for a gift. Love it!
Made one in camouflage print for my nephew, he will get that, a beanie and fingerless glove set for his birthday in Australian winter. Going tomake one for my hubby in Texas and brother in law in Alaska.. Will use thicker yarn for the last two..
Thank you. I've been looking for just such a pattern for the longest time. My mates and I work outdoors in cold weather. We need more gear than hats and scarves.
I love this men’s/unisex cowl. I made my hubby one in MorNing Java bcuz I love brown. I will be making more of these. I will put a pic up on ur FB page.
Great pattern, Crystal! My husband only wears his scarf when it's really really cold but this would be easier for him to wear. I've never heard of Ferris wheel before. I liked how it stripped the cowl. Thank you!
Nice cowl for men. Thanks so much for sharing :)
Thanks Crystal for this simple and quick pattern. I will be making several of these for my family.
Making it now for my grandson. Love your tutorials. Thank you

Just making this now for a friend, it's beginning to shape up quite nicely. Thanks very much for the tutorial! 🙂
So happy I found your channel. Love this for my boys
This is really nice. I was on someone else’s channel and they showed it as an item completed and referenced your channel for the tutorial. Now I have made several and will make matching hats for Christmas presents this year. Thanks so much!!!
Good looking model and product
Nice cowl thanks for sharing
Thank you for a great video that I actually learned from. I never knew exactly where to go when doing the fpdc. I was confused whether it was above the vertical bar or below it and you showed me exactly where it should be placed and now I know! I had gone through a lot of videos that never showed it close enough. I did do a foundation dc to start so hopefully it should still fit. Great pattern and I like a lot of followers bought the yarn to make several of them. Again thank you for all u do. Very much appreciated!
Crystal… new to crochet… your pumpkin pie got me hooked!!! Now trying this cowl…painful.. hold yarn too tight, still have difficulty recognizing next stitch… your tutorial are greatest… thanks for Santa face!!!
This is definitely on list for a gift this year 🙏🏽🇬🇧

Ahhh I just made one for hubby's birthday...!!! I did my own pattern... I'll make one like this now!!! Lol
This was a nice project, have to see if my husband would want one.
Just started this today. So funny, I went to Walmart to get manly yarn and picked up Ferris Wheel Morning Java. Started this video and was surprised to see that’s what you used. Great tutorial!
Thank you Crystal. Was gonna make a beard, but I think this would be more beneficial right now. Keep them coming.
