  • Systemic Sclerosis (systemic scleroderma) can be difficult to diagnose--especially in the early period of the disease. The goal of treatment for systemic sclerosis is to force the disease into remission and slow its progress. Nursing management includes assessing regularly for various organs involvement, teaching patients and their caregivers how to cope with the disease, and collaborating with other disciplines.

You're welcome! Most individuals with SSc experience only mild symptoms. The disease becomes severe when serious complications with major organs manifest (e.g., renal crisis/failure, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, encephalopathy).
