    The Xiaomi one seems like the better purchase, but I find this review a little bit biased and not a fair reflection of the performance of both products.

    Bias lighting to save your eyes on the longer run is worth a 1000 dollars more let alone 100. Consider that you don't need to cut led light strips and stick it to the back of your monitor for backlight, and then control its brightness and adjust it seperately... and then worry about removing it, selling your old monitor, buying a new monitor, sticking it again...
    And the webcam attachment is handy...
    I will choose the Mi for the regular screenlight, but the halo is a leg up; I'm surprised Xiaomi have not followed up with this rather inexpensive feature...

      It's normal.
      I asked the same question on Amazon, and most ppl noticed the same, and a BenQ customer service rep said that it's part of the design.
      You wouldn't normally see it on a photo/video, as the exposure setting is too high.

    User of the MI light bar, go for the purchase it’s must better and always in stock, the glare is only an issue if installed improperly and on a curved monitor which is never the norm, I love the minimal aesthetic and zero branding. The brightness and CRI values of the LEDs are very good I rarely use the High mode.

    Benq Halo is far superior, better build, better brightness(back and front), and the Halo doesn't glare off the screen like the rest and wireless control, be patient and save up and spend your money once, don't buy junk over and over trying to match what you really want, junk is just a waste of money that you can't get back.

    • @StardustLegacyFighter
      @StardustLegacyFighter 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @jzguy19 Actually, the original BenQ screenbars have a superior clamp design, and that alone makes them a better fit for most monitors.
      Also, BenQ recently released the Screenbar Pro, which has an even better clamp design and is generally a better product than the Xiaomi light bar.

  • @StardustLegacyFighter
    @StardustLegacyFighter 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I wanted to try out the Xiaomi light bar first, but almost all of the main sellers on Amazon had poor reviews and higher than RRP prices.
    So, I bit the bullet and went for the BenQ Halo instead.
    I don't regret my purchase so far, and I find the back light a lot more useful than I initially anticipated.
    Yes, you could absolutely buy the Xiaomi light bar for the desk, and then get a cheap LED lamp to put behind the monitor as biased/ambient lighting.
    However, I don't have heaps of space behind my monitor and nor do I have a spare socket.
    The BenQ Halo handles everything in one solution, which saves space and prevents extra clutter.

  • @mrcvry
    @mrcvry 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

    I bought a Quntis lightbar and thought the Benq was way too expensive. But I was so wrong! You get what you pay for!
    The Quntis doesn't really glare on the screen, but it illuminates every tiny speck of dust and still shines in my eyes.
    The dust was driving me mad. I cleaned it every day.
    I just got the Benq and the difference is night and day!
    The light is so focused that it doesn't light up the dust and doesn’t shine in my eyes.
    The backlight is a nice addition.

    • @ryanze26
      @ryanze26 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      this is correct. i just bought usd 7 cheapo screenbar. and my monitor and everything lights up, in a second my monitor dust everywhere even after i clean it with microfiber.
      then i see if any other screenbar does light leakage, and everything else except benq does leakage even after their promo page about 45 degree focus light.
      so i modify my cheap screenbar to block the light for 1 usd, it's now blocking light to myeyes and monitor so no dust for only 8 usd..

    Ended up ordering the Xiaomi, for half of the Amazons price. Yes, shipping was slower by a week, but before anyone complains about the reliability of other suppliers Amazon is less than perfect too, in fact they stiffed me for over 800 US sending me a child's makeup kit instead of a Sony Xperia Smartphone then refused to refund my money or send me an actual phone they even got nasty and threatening to cancel my account, why I don't know but the bottom line is they were great until they went. So I always shop around and often find much-much better deals, wish I could find the Benq at half price.

    My little Mazda is cheaper than audi and also has wheels. I personally dont need all the features than Audi provides, especially when it costs quadruple.
    I'm perfectly fine, both have 4 wheels and can get passengers, so as you already probably realized, I recommend Mazda. Is shorter and louder, but this aesthetics suits me, I dont know about you. Mazda is definitely better product. Now Im waiting for 100 comments from people who are grateful that I helped them choose better product and avoid overpriced junk

    • @StardustLegacyFighter

      The people who tend to use cars, an example, when discussing completely different products, are some of the biggest lunatics I've ever seen on this platform.
      Yes, I understand that you're too cheap to buy the more expensive product, but don't insult people who can afford it and choose to buy it.
      If it's not within your budget, then have the balls to say it, instead of inventing reasons for why the more expensive product is definitely bad.
      Using your car example, I can't afford a Rolls Royce Phantom, but you wouldn't hear me criticising people who can afford it and calling the car itself "overpriced junk".

    joke products, modern my butt; wrong is a better description. Aesthetics is the new crap of the younger generation, you are too worried about glamour and friggin looks not general practicality (LED Keuboards & RGB light coming out of every darn appliance, quit the addictions, getting thru life and not wallpapering the sidewalks. Like shopping for a darn designer hammer, like it is a necessity, or shopping for $40 or more t shirts for worrisome self image. Sensitive as hell consumerism, best part of what I see is your neat minimalism. and likely great organization. I just hope you get outdoors and enjoy humanity. A fixed higher overhead LED bulb a few above nice balance goose neck or balance rod suspension - spot with a scrim framed snoot / barn doors idea for limited shape over desk mounted just behid the monitor - never allowing any light wash on the screen, a big huge fail of the darn things. Projected right past the screen by all means. Possible by 12v dc cable hanger from ceiling like many designer lighting systems in gallery paced anywhere on the cable like Xmas lights but small.
