Lydia's comment about rewatching girlfriends reminds me of something i came across... that people with anxious attachment styles like rewatching shows coz it gives them a sense of ease, coz they know what will happen next in the shows and how it will end
Despite having anxious attachment style and my man having avoidant, we compliment each other in the sense that, we are aware of our traumas and are working towards being better versions of ourselves. Sometimes it doesn't even feel like I am that anxious anymore or him avoidant. Thanks to Lydia and therapist Jeff, we had some of those serious conversations before, and I had my bare minimums....especially emotional security and how he treats me.
@@esthermulu1229 If, for example, you grew up in a toxic or abusive home, you would be more likely to accept the same from a friend or partner in the future because you think that behavior is okay and normal.
Lol, It’s Lydia realising there are avoidant women 😂 and as a representative of the avoidants, waahh si mlitukujia hii episode, si pole bas 😢 It’s just easier to switch off our emotions and go into robot mode to avoid hurt, it’s self preservation, we are really just scared little kittens on the inside 😅
This video is an hour long but I watched it for maybe an hour and 20min because i had to repeat so many good points. Yall are easy to watch and listen. In fact let me repeat some of your episodes whilst i wait for the next.
I always rewatch their love letters on SNS podcast, that was a real bomb!! Its my 10th time watching that and ain't deleting that soon❤This two women are everything foshoo🎉❤
My hot take is that men are just naturally worse at sustaining relationships. And I say this as a man who understands how patriarchy can isolate and distance a man from his own emotions. Where women will have close and intimate relationships with other women through out their life, (male friendships are not intimate or vulnerable 9 times out of 10) most men will never experience emotional and intimate relationships outside of their romantic ones. This makes it almost emotionally overwhelming to deal with another human being in this way especially if you weren't in any meaningful relationships prior. (Also why most men have avoidant attachment) This is why a lot of relationships end because the man was being distant and seemingly uninterested a few months down the line; which, in my opinion, is sparked by "burn out" from having to be vulnerable so often, having to look after another person's mental well being, and other stuff that are easy to do when you're in love. But fade after the honeymoon phase where that emotional inexperience starts to show. This can be overcome of course with therapy, self reflection, and a healthy growth mindset (measures I've taken myself) and may be less common than I lead on but I feel is true from my experiences and observations. Keep up the good content, you two are inspiring.
@@carolinenjoroge1195 yes. socialization is the key to change. Like allow him to express himself and listen. Teach him that feelings and emotions are felt by all humans.
I loooove this episode, because it shines more light on the quality of a relationship. Even if a man doesn't necessarily do things that show that he hates you, it is more beneficial to know whether he actually loves you through these signs that you have given in the episode.
Who else feels like time is flying, literally 😅 unafumba kufungua macho wiki imeisha 😂 Anyway it's good coz it feels like Wednesday isn't that far away 😊❤
I think anxious are attracted to avoidants because in the beginning, avoidants give cool, calm, collected vibes that anxious attachers crave. It gives stability
Everytime I told this son of pharaoh 'I love you' he just smiled...one day I brought it up and asked why he never says it back and he responded ' but I don't hate you'....I just left....praying so hard I don't go for closure😂
I'm an avoidant, my man is secure. He is absolutely amazing! and being with him brings me closer to being secure...They exist for sure...but a rare breed... I value him deeply.
Love what Murugi says. I also want to talk about things or know when to talk about them and solve them. When dating I was an avoidant but after marriage, you don’t want to be mad for days .
We always love love it here❤️❤️... The host looking good as usual . And yes today I've learnt my attachment style through the link you guys shared below. I'm Team Secure💯 .
My friend introduced me to TMI and I'm obsessed!!!!!!!!!!! My standard are on top rynooww can't even lie..... Its funny since I learned a lot of things I didn't know about myself and I'm not experiencing some things alone ,,,,like oooow woowww!!!!!!!!!!!
Its murugi😂. 5 page power point presentation for only 300. Asaol😂😂 .. it's tough.. " What my baby wants, my baby gets" ( if he is capable) Thats the theme ❤
Am a new member to this channel and am glad to be here . Watching each episode is enlightening me to be better for me .i love what you ladies are doing keep it up.
I've been in situations where a guy I'm dating is jealous of how I talk about my dad. I'm still young, so I hope I'll figure it out and keep my husband to be first. I'm extremely sapiosexual, Murugi I feel it, trust me I've stayed in a toxic relationship coz the guy was so smart. He lacked emotional intelligence though ...pure madness
I agree with Murugi about sex in marriage...the pleasure after marriage can ease things into conversation. Also duty! Because he has to be dutiful ama?

Very interesting as always. A series on signs you hate / love your man or signs your woman hates/ loves you would be very interesting as well. Based on some of the submissions on this episode and similar past episodes, the bar on what women expect/ require in a relationship is quite low, given that we have been socialised to put everyone else's needs and wants first and our own last and be " nice girls". We get starry eyed at the bare minimum because we are used to substandard treatment. Also red flags are not red flags if they are what's familiar_ word.
I love you ladies ❤❤❤ I took the attachment test and I came out *secure* I think my parents did well with early childhood. Only that our relationships has become quite challenging, because I wouldn't allow them project their fears and disappointments on me. I feel like that will be a lot on my shoulders. I want to live life to the fullest and not leave in someone else's regrets in life.
Hallo TMI, I love the podcast and listen to every episode but sometimes you guys speak in swahili and i dont get the tea😔 am just suggesting that when swahili is spoken put for us the meanings as a subtitle maybe for us to follow😅 not get lost i love you guyssss.....am learning swahili small small though😉
Aki I saw Lydia's pics and I thought to myself in mmmmmh🤔 she's put on a bit of weight a very interesting way. So imagine if I was those people who just say things to people without thinking not knowing what that person is going through.
