The explanation is so good that even people like me who don't know how to handle blueprints can understand and set it up. Thank you for great tutorial!! :)
great tutorial, youtube lacks such good quality content, keep up the good work! Maybe you could do something about melee combat someday, that would be very interesting!
Cool! Glad you made this! You think you could also make a tutorial on aiming with the Over the Shoulder camera, like when you’re aiming a gun? Also, can you make a tutorial on the type of over the shoulder camera controls used in the Resident Evil 2 Remake?
Its a pretty simple fix. Look up "animation montages". Find an animation of the character aiming and follow a short video to setup montages. After you setup the camera zoom you can add the node "play montage" and start the animation. I am SUPER busy so I don't have much time to make tutorials at the moment.
@@Uchidan There is a TON of factors being added with motion matching and why I started with a basic sample project. You are trying to layer code ontop of eachother that aren't compatible. You will have to use the code I demonstrated and see where it is conflicting in the motion matching sample. This is why its best to build your game from the ground up yourself and start basic so you have an understanding of why the code isn't compatible because you wrote it yourself.
@@1027Studio I found out how to do it. There is a Camera variable on the motion matching blueprint that you can change the camera. Might be a good video for ya! Just saying.
bro made a good ass tutorial. respect for the clarity

Thank you for showing the full process, this is a well made and easy to grasp explanation of how to set this up.
No problem, I’m glad I could help!

Thank you! I agree on the melee combat. My game will include melee combat so once I complete it I’m sure I can cover that in a tutorial.
I was looking for something like this to add a 3rd person mode to my fps thank you :3
Ofc! I’m glad I could help

I’ll take a look! Resident evil 2 is easily one of my favorite games. I just moved into college so tutorials will come out slowly.
@@1027StudioFair enough. Good luck with college, and can’t wait for the tutorial!
Thank you!
can you help us on how to add a shooting mechanic? That's something I've been stuck on when I follow your tutorial.
up
Great tutorial. Could you create a guide on character movement similar to that in DOOM 2016?
Sure! Once I finish my elevator series I’ll take a look
I get it’s been a month but the video is up now 😭😭
I can still look all the way down. the view pitch max is only set when the character looks up right??
CAN YOU MAKE AN VIDEO THAT TALKS ABOUT HOW TO MAKE IT HAVE AN ANIMATION WHEN AIMING? SO IT DOESNT LOOK TO THE AIM STRAIGHT AWAY?

whenever I aim it locks my camera into the aim camera. and it snaps instead of a smooth zoom. any idea what i did wrong?
I would check if your timeline is setup correctly. Immediately upon hearing that I think that to be the possible issue.
@@1027Studio that was it. thanks for the help!
I am using the Sandbox character template and using your instructions do not work with it. Any ideas as to why??
What part isn’t working in specific? I can help you out and try and figure out what’s going wrong
@@1027Studio If you load up the Motion Matching sample from Unreal engine and attempt your tutorial it does it work.

Ahhhh I’m glad you found it!! I’m so glad it’s that plug and play code wise it’s what I had intended.
Unreligious tutorial 😀
Huh? 😭
