A few things, I forgot to mention that there is one big punishment to waking gpa up early, that being other family members are then allowed in the basement, making it really tough to get out. The other thing just being that since this is just info from the tech test I could be wrong on some things but still think this tutorial will help clear lots of confusion. Ty for watching 🙂
Just bought the game. The atmosphere, sound and graphics are on point but it's complex and convoluted and with no offline bots mode or playable tutorial, it's so difficult, it's killing my enthusiasm! I've killed people by blind luck as the family but often spend ages lost in small spaces. As a victim, I can survive for a while but poke my head out to look for items and get wasted in a heartbeat. Of all the online games I've ever played, this really throws you into the deep end without arm bands. It's hard to get into.
Been playing this game nonstop since yesterday. Came here looking to see if I was missing anything but looks like I’ve been playing survivor well. My few pin points: I feel like survivors don’t have enough traps or things to deceive the family with. Number 2: family in games are usually together so you’re constantly running away from 3 people. Seems a bit unfair when it happens to you. When exits are opened, all 3 hunters usually just hang by the door until it closes again. Making you have to run through them. This is where survivor traps would help, maybe having like a noise maker that would alert them of movement to trick hunters? Idk. Lastly, I’m tired of spawning right next to leatherface. Literally takes like 15 seconds for him to be around your room nearby already camping you. I feel like buffer time should be a bit longer UNLESS you make noise. Also, need more character, but I’m sure that’s to come.
I think traps and distractions for survivors would be a good idea, might help cause confusion during a chase or get the family to leave your immediate area. the camping of exit gates I’ve found usually doesn’t matter that much unless it’s a Leatherface with a fully revved chainsaw (so it’ll knock you down), or potentially more than two family sitting there. but if it’s just one, or maybe even two but you have near full health, it really won’t matter as long as you have a straight shot out (especially if it’s an exit where the escape trigger is directly after getting past the gate, like the car battery exit on the sunflower ranch map). I think it should be possible for family to relock certain gates and such, and with that, I think matches should also be slower paced. Grandpa generally causes the games to go by way too quickly, you can be playing pretty well but all it takes is one person to have their blood gathering maxed out and some perks like that to turn the guy into an advanced UAV from COD, making it near impossible for survivors to escape unless someone practically sacrifices themselves to stab him once, which can just be immediately reversed anyways. he needs a rework if you ask me. as for leatherface and spawning next to him, I think it sort of fits into the theme of not making immediate movements and playing it carefully. you do have the advantage already in the basement, being seen immediately isn’t the end of the world as long as you have a general sense of the map and good stamina conservation, and with how fast I’ve seen some people unlock doors before (legit 5 seconds after the game begins for real sometimes), increasing the period before survivors and family play may be detrimental to the game. survivors should be required to play more carefully and be more aware of what their actions and movements will do.

You forgot to mention one of the most not knowm fact in this game , and that being the victim is able to bobby trap the lamp located all over the indoor building with a cost of lockpick , i never seen any youtuber or streamer doing it , so it will be very helpfull if you showcase it to us sometime None of than less , great vid Stalkyboi!!!
the family should be noticeably stronger and easier to play in some cases. you can play the game more laid back and patrol based, or you can play more strategically and aggressive. same goes for survivor, except you do have to play differently and more carefully, and that’s how it should be. in these types of games it doesn’t make sense as to why they would be balanced, but the game should at least be fair for both sides. fair as in, there are ways to avoid the situations and some counters depending on game knowledge snd items, which this game does seem to have for the survivor side and not as much for the family side. as an example, on some maps it’s extremely easy to run a family member around due to how the map is laid out, and if it’s one of the members who can’t slide through walls or crawl under vents. some maps require the family to go around huge obstacles in order to continue chasing you, which gives you more than enough time. it’s about map knowledge, playing it safe, and being aware, and if you use all three of those you’ll get much further than you think.
Can testify already played with some complete dicks. I come from DBD and Friday but never trashed talk as a Red Rank Killer. I'm 31 and just like playing for fun and getting that "rush." Have also played with a lot of down to earth people where we all explained we're beginners and helped each other out which was cool. Hoping it stays non-toxic but not too optimistic haha. The game is a lot of fun already and hoping the developers stick with updates constantly!
Can you explain the yellow and sometimes red glow around the screen. I am assuming it’s a family member indicator that a victim was spotted. What’s the colors mean? Is there a difference in a family member being nearby to exactly being spotted. And the distance or radius of the color alert

I just wanna say that you should *NOT* spam E when wiggling free at the start of the match, victims get a head start over Leatherface (about 20 to 30 seconds) so it's impossible for Leatherface to reach one of the cells before the victims get free. You'll notice this if you go and watch any victim gameplay at the start of the match, turn up your volume and you can hear the cutscene of Leatherface killing Julie. Combined with the fact that LF needs to start the chainsaw before he can attack anyone, this means if you spam wiggle at the start all you're doing is waking up grandpa earlier. (Grandpa will wake up if victims make enough loud noises, the noises don't all have to be at the same time so rushing lockpicks/bone shards at the start can also wake up Grandpa. I'm not sure how many noises it takes to wake him up but I believe it was 4 or 5)
Grandpa can be used to make an easier escape though if you're reaaaalllyyy brave, because if you lure the cook or hitchhiker downstairs you can get out of the basement quickly, definitely best to attempt as leland

No just wait until more people get the hang of the game. The victims are OP, I got smacked by a good team of victims who kept on stun locking all of the family members and escaped. There is nothing you can do against 2-3 victims constantly stunning you and running through gaps. Just stick with the team and help each other out.
How you guys handling the well? As victim I often get 1/2 hits before falling down. I dont know how to avoid this, since when I play family I can barely land a hit when they are entering the well. Maybe 1 but mainly air. I don’t understand this mechanism or maybe it lag. Does anyone know this?
@StalkyBoi Someone told me it doesn't, but I don't believe they would give you an option to break out fast if it didn't have consequences. I tried looking it up but found nothing
you do have that. with a bone shard, facing a family member that’s chasing you and pressing a specific button will initiate a “close encounter”, a button mashing qte and some perks will make it easier for you or for the other guy depending on what they’re running. if you win, they get stunned for about 5 seconds and you can run away. if they win, you have to button mash a bit longer, and depending on if they win again may decide if you insta-die, which I’ve only seen happen once. it can be used as a last resort against one family member, but if another member comes along and hits you during the struggle it’ll be an instant death for you.
@@thespedshed6963 well, I feel that mechanic wouldn’t work very well. for one, you’re going against enemies with weapons, so you have to really ask, “what would punching do?” would it stun them? would it just damage them? would it be a last resort type deal where if you punch enough times you stun them like during a close encounter? either way you put it, it doesn’t really sound like it’d fit in very well in all honesty as the close encounter pretty much took its place. if it was just a general mechanic being that you could just punch to attack like how family slashes or stabs to attack, it’d be quite strange since that could just result in survivors dying faster than if they just ran away, cause you tell me who would be doing more damage with that. additionally, it’d be pretty annoying if survivors had a constant ability to stun you with little tradeoff, getting punched maybe once or twice, losing some health, and then leaving you stunned for some time and being able to constantly do that would leave a lot of family players annoyed.
Does anyone know how to manage your stamina better? I keep having to speed boost just to stay away from the family because regular running is too slow and I run out of stamina so quick in the process any tips for this will be appreciated

There is more to it than Guns last game (Friday the 13th) but the maps are smaller and more killers. I've noticed the early advantage goes to the family. If both sides have no clue what to do, it's waay easier for the family as they're all essentially hitting r2/rt to just swing and attack. The in game tutorial isn't great for a victim, lot to try and remember. Play like 5 or 6 games as both and you'll have the jist.

Not at all similar. Jason in f13 is way stronger with his powers, and the survivors are weaker. 4v3 seems the most balanced in this game. 7 would make it impossible for the family to kill them all if all 7 survivors know the basics.

Ah I forgot that! Yellow glow is just when a family member is nearby
Connies ability is great! Except the 3-4 minute cooldown! And the fact that once u use it you basically cant do anything for 20 seconds

I worry this may be too complicated for it's own good.
It’s really not that complicated after a few matches.
There is more to it than Guns last game (Friday the 13th) but the maps are smaller and more killers. I've noticed the early advantage goes to the family. If both sides have no clue what to do, it's waay easier for the family as they're all essentially hitting r2/rt to just swing and attack. The in game tutorial isn't great for a victim, lot to try and remember. Play like 5 or 6 games as both and you'll have the jist.

Not at all similar. Jason in f13 is way stronger with his powers, and the survivors are weaker. 4v3 seems the most balanced in this game. 7 would make it impossible for the family to kill them all if all 7 survivors know the basics.
if they add 7 victims then they would have won all the time so 4v3 is perfectly balanced
