Here is a very long rubric demonstrating how complicated this can be
    1. Ring-won belts
    2. Authentic Belts that have been issued to champions, but are not ring-won
    (Not for the public)
A: Replacement belts (due to damage, sale, theft, loss)
B: Commemorative belts /award belt (of exact make/appearance of genuine belts)
    C: Upgrade Belts
    3. Genuine (but not authentic) Belts that have been issued to champions, but are not ring-won
    (Ring-won automatically makes it authentic)
    (Not for the public)
A: Replacement belts (due to damage, sale, theft, loss)
B: Commemorative belts /award belt (of exact make/appearance of genuine belts)
    C: Upgrade Belts
NOTE: “Authentic” emphasizes the maker of the belt, whereas “Genuine” emphasizes the physical belt.
For instance, someone can use the EXACT SAME MACHINES, MATERIAL, SKILL, AND CASTING, AS A BELT THAT IS RING-WON, BUT IF THE PERSON / COMPANY, NEVER ACTUALLY MADE THAT SAME TYPE OF BELT THAT WAS EVER ACTUALLY WON AND GIVEN TO A CHAMPION, THEN THE BELT WOULD BE GENUINE, BUT NOT AUTHENTIC.
    Example: Sartonk can make a
WBA Super belt (black) and a Ring magazine belt.
Even though, Sartonk is an official maker of belts for Sanctioning bodies, they have never given a Ring Magazine belt won by a champion. Those were made by the company Newport.
On the other hand, many Champions have won a Sartonk WBA Super belt.
So a WBA Super belt from Sartonk would be Authentic, but a Ring Magazine belt from Sartonk would be genuine, but NOT authentic.
    3. Official Replica belts, meant to be issued only to champions (not for public)
A: Replacement belts (made by an official maker, that did not make the belt at the time the champion had won the belt, but still meant to replicate the size and material of the original ones)
(There are issued, and non-issued ones)
B: Commemorative belts, given as awards to champions, but are physically different from a genuine belt (usually size or material)
    3. Non-Issued Genuine belts (not made for the public)
(Same size and material as the ring-won belts)
    A. Made by an official maker with a contract for that specific belt
    B. Made by an official maker, but without a contract for that belt (which technically makes it a replica.)
These tend to be prototypes made by companies that want to produce belts for the sanctioning bodies and sometimes are displayed at boxing events
Those are still the same size, weight and material as a ring-won belt.
Both would be acceptable to champions if won in the ring.
(Both versions are either kept on hold for the sanctioning bodies or, in VERY rare instances, sold at auctions in very limited quantity)
    4. Official replicas (made for the public)
Usually different size, or material than the real belts.
But still, made by the same company that makes the Ring-won belts
    5.
    Unofficial replicas
    A. High Quality
(This is the danger-zone on eBay, because some are so accurate, that they are indistinguishable to the eye via picture, and need to be touched, measured, and weighed in person the tell the difference).
Furthermore, there are often certificates of authenticity attached to these, for the autograph on the belt, but not for the belt itself)
    B. Low Quality

      @obiclone  3 ปีที่แล้ว

The WBC currently is made by Cleto Reyes. But it is almost impossible to get a full size authentic wbc belt. Reyes sells an official replica that is 10% smaller than the real belt. You can get that on their website. The real authentic belt is not for sale and the only real way to get those is through a champion who is coming on hard times. In super rare instances, to raise money, the WBC will auction off full size authentic belts, but that is super rare and in those auctions The belts go for very very very high prices.

The ones I have in the video are all made in the US, except the WBC.
I’ve bought them mostly at auction.
There are really hard to find.
There is a company called Aun Belts out of Thailand that CLAIMS to make official belts for the WBA, WBO, and IBF (though I know Sartonk to be there only maker of the black WBA Super belt)
      2) No, these are not ring-won belts, they are blanks, I did not buy these from boxers
      3) Authentic is better, but it’s psychological only.
Genuine means it’s made out of the same materials, machines, and skill.
AUTHENTIC, is the same thing PLUS, made by the exact same people, who have made the belts actually won by the champions

    • @obiclone
      @obiclone  2 ปีที่แล้ว

It depends on the quality and how close it looks to the real thing.
The replicas that look close to the real belt, would probably go for more than $1000
any WBC replica that costs less than that does not really look like the real one.
Right now on eBay there are two or three replicas that look identical to the real ones but are not the real one.
      But they are too expensive.
Those are going for about $2500.
The replicas that cost less than $500 don’t look much like the real thing.

They are not Ring-won, but that’s the same thing as saying a belt that a champion has not yet won is not real until he has won it.
      Here is a break-down
      B. Low Quality
