Seaweed! It’s full of it! Especially kelp and it’s abundant (possibly free depending upon where you live) plus the body accepts it so much better when it’s from a natural source!
Kelp tablets are available as a health food supplement in the UK, and contain the therapeutic dose of iodine. Avoiding a deficiency is likely to reduce the potential for radioactive iodine isotopes to be absorbed.
I take two tabs of Sea Kelp 'Nature's Garden' brand, from UK health shops. But people are writing it has to be 'potasium ioDIDE'? Do you know anything about that? Whats the differences?
@@AmeliaHoskins Anything you get from food or suplements is measured in micrograms while the dose you take in emergencies is about 100 mg, so 1000 times higher. No natural supplement or food item is going to give you anything near that dose, so go to a pharmacy and get the actual pills if you are worried. And don't take them as a supplement as the dose isn't necessarily totally safe, it's high and cause problems to some people but if there is radioactivity those problems are less of a risk than thyroid cancer.

Family and close friends think I'm being paranoid but I believe it is better to have it and not need it rather than to need it and not have it. Have you looked at the uranium tipped weapons that the UK gave to ukraine? They were blown up 2 weeks ago in a warehouse storage in western ukraine causing a huge mushroom cloud and high gamma ray particle cloud. Then suddenly it was no longer in the news. Once again..thanks UK for putting those on the battlefield!!!
uranium tipped weapons dont explode in any way like a nuclear blast. The DEPLETED uranium is used because its VERY HEAVY, not because its explosive. In actual tactical nuclear shells, ENRICHED uranium and various other exotic materils are used just like in a strategic nuclear bomb.

Note that the Russians have not been shelling the nuke plant... the shells were coming from across the lake, which was an area not controlled by the Russians... I know the NARRATIVE is that Russia was shelling their own troops that were guarding the plant... quite silly though.

Nope but the plant is now seen as a relatively "safe" place to move increasing numbers of Russian troops, armoured vehicles, weapons and ammunition stockpiles with less fear of being attacked during any counter offensive!
@@mpwaterhouse No, the Russians do not move heavy equipment and artillery near the nuclear plant. They know this is wrong. Also, there are still a couple IAEA inspectors there to keep watch and ensure no one weaponises the plant.

John, when the Russian blew up the storage facility where Ukraine stored the depleted uranium shell supplied by the U.K. the radioactive dust blew into Europe. At the time the wind was blowing westward for several day. The E.U. responded by turning off the monitoring stations
so the area contaminated is not known. These people are insane.
So, if the UK had not supplied the uranium shell, there would have been nothing to blow up, right? Why the heck did Ukraine get it in the first place?

From lots of the comments it sounds like people are waiting to be told what to do by the government. They learned nothing from the last few years. You are responsible for your health and wellbeing. No one will take better care of you than you.
Indeed. After the whole vaccine fiasco this time around I'm going with the non-pharmaceutical option of staying indoors for a 704 million year lockdown instead. If you genuinely believe that being 'responsible for your health and wellbeing' is at all a viable solution to the type of nuclear catastrophe this video describes you're in for a very painful, lingering lesson at very best. Popping pills or even a fallout shelter won't protect anyone from the effects of nuclear contamination just possibly slightly forestall the inevitable.
@@harryricochet8134 The power plant is not being used to produce electricity it is only being maintained. Ukraine is unlikely to bomb the reactors. So unless the Russians bomb the station intentionally which is likely there is an unpredictable level of damage possible. If the plant was in full production this could be catastrophic and nothing we do will matter however it is not so depending on the level of intended or accidental damage will more likely make this survivable. Being mindful of ones iodine intake and correcting any deficiency is good for our health. To have an accessible supply of iodine tablets in light of recent situations would not be an unreasonable suggestion.

I looked into the possibilities a couple years ago after watching a movie, and bought Iodine at that time, as the consequences of this happening have risen by far!
I hope it doesn't. Having Iodine as you say in storage is a good idea, as we can't get it in the UK. But I have NO idea why the hell not!
We are restricted heavily here to look after ourselves. Most other countries seem to have the right to take care of their own medical issues if they wish. But after this I would take a guess its not going to be easy to find anywhere, plus they will make it illegal. I have NO idea why in the UK we are basically banned from choosing to look after ourselves.
I have to say, that if the plant is destroyed it’ll be by Ukraine if they can’t win. They’ll want to tender the land they can’t have useless to the Russians.

When Russians got that territory they ignored all that and after a while finally realized they are living in a radioactive zone... And then they moved away a little. He's wrong about the Ukrainian forces going through the Russians in their counter offensive. Just like he was wrong about the jabs over two years ago. Poorly, and hastily trained forces using unfamiliar equipment from several different countries and manufacturers with little logistical support for repairs is a recipe for failure.
And he is wrong about Ukrainian forces not shelling Zaporizhzhia as they already did that when the Russians drove the AFU out. Of course western media said it was the Russians shelling the plant, even though the Russians were occupying it. Total nonsense, just like this guy, another fear-monger like the mainstream western media.
There is more likely issue with radioactive material from the UK arming the AFU with depleted uranium armour piercing rounds for the tanks they supplied. These have to be fired and heated to extreme temperatures before depleted uranium becomes friable, a standard building fire like in an armoury being hit by artillery won't cut it. It has to be when it hits hardened metal at high speed to generate enough energy to reach the temperature where it becomes friable.
Expect to see lots of deformed children born in the area just like in Iraq from the US and UK's use of DU there.

There is always a small spike in radiation with any explosion or even from a volcano and coal burning power plants, it is negligible.
