Funfact: you we're half right about toko, she has Multiple personalities, toko is her normal self who is timid and paranoid and a simp for byakuya, and Syo/Jack is her murderous half, Who is chaotic as all hell and is the total opposite of Toko

I assure you, Danganronpa just has good designs. I have also just watched a lot of anime and played a lot of games. Danganronpa leans into tropes pretty heavily with the characters (though that lends itself really well to the style of game). But before making this video, I had not played any of the games. :)

To be fair when I first saw Ryoma before even knowing anything about V3 I also hated how he looks and thought he didn't fit with other characters at all. Also his design gave me Mineta from MHA vibes, so I thought he's be an obnoxious comic character. Glad I was wrong.

Yes, this is something you learn from playing the game. Before playing the game, I would have no way of knowing this. Since this video, I have played it. But in the future, try not to spoil major plot points for people who haven't experienced something. Let them figure it out by playing, not by you telling them.
I did end up streaming the first game and a bit of the second. I'm uploading all my old videos and VODs that are on my hard drive in chronological order so it may be a bit before they're up. But they will be. I beat DR2 off-stream.
