Nice, you got the updated Liberty frame!! I have an older version where the down bars that in the rear that go to the very bottom of the hoop section are inset, where your down bars are welded directly to the that piece where both hoop sections snap into at the bottom, nice to see they're continuously improving the frame. So if I but land my extremely heavy Thor 202 engine, it'll bend that inset part at the very rear, where with yours there is nothing to bend. I can easily bend mine back with a hammer and block of wood, so not a deal breaker. You can imagine the torque I experience with a Thor 202 and 140 cm prop, Neil at aviator helped me set up the geometry (utilizing all the adjustments) so that I have weight shift authority at full throttle!!! It's amazing!!!
I flew the atom 80 for a while, and I loved the simplicity and reliability. It’s a great option for light pilots or people with a wide-open airfield to launch from. I ended up moving to the Moster when I wanted to climb out of some shorter airfields. Hope you love this setup.
Super interesting and well edited video. Man that is a huge prop ring! Glad you were able to adjust the harness so that it wasn't so close to the ground. I'll try to post up a video. It's tough right now with Maggie in Hospice. By the way, there are solvents that can remove that stuff from your upper lip.
Great video, and thank you for your service. Where did you buy the frame and motor, are they from the same place? I looked at Paradactyl's web site but it doesn't look like they do direct equipment sales. Do you think you saved any money buying the frame and motor separately?
A lot of dealers work together. I just call or message and tell them what I'm looking for and see if they can find me parts in stock. You can definitely save by shopping around
I dig that helmet..Where can I get one? Also the Atom 80 is great to fly...I'm a bigger guy (240 pds) and trained on an Atom 80..Great lil motor just took me alot more running to get in the air :)
I'm a bit curious about your Army side if you don't mind sharing. You seem a bit reserved about it understandably so... Are you aviation? Flight warrant? AD, NG?
Hey I watched your videos of your Mosquito Air forever ago and wanted to revisit them. I see you haven't made a video with it in a while, did you sell it?
I was wondering why that sketchy helicopter video showed up in my suggestions and then I clicked on your page and this makes a lot more sense. I've been looking to get into paragliding. It's a nice looking setup you've got. One question though, how hard is/ how much time does it take to break down the cage? I've seem those full carbon ones and people have said they're a pain to set up so those are out. I'd like to be able to break it down so I could get it in the back of my truck with a topper on. I live in a state that has typically terrible weather in the winter so I'd have to travel to fly and would rather not have it subjected to the elements as I travel. Is it fairly simple to take the cage apart or is that frowned on?
It takes 2-5 min to take the cage apart depending on how fast you work. The poles just slide in and the net unclips. No tools required. I'd recommend getting a quick release prop mount as well to get the prop off in about 20 seconds
@@MitchG prop was the other concern but I figured it could be a work around while the cage would be more difficult. Thanks for the advice and the reply stay safe out there
I still have both but I only fly the 80 now. The 80 is fine if you don't live above 3000ft and if you only fly bigger size gliders. If you plan on eventually doing barrel rolls and big wingovers then get the 185. If you decide to get the 80, then don't buy a glider that puts you at the top of the weight range. The 80 is fantastic for boating around nice and slow.
@@MitchGI'm just now seeing this. Thanks for the reply. My location is about 2,500 ft and I'm sure eventually I'll want more power so I've decided on the 185. I'll probably end up with a limitless paramotor too. You probably know this but it's the same damn thing as a liberty with 2 tiny changes. I also looked at the Iris. It looks like a great unit. Why do you prefer the liberty over the Iris?

Where are you located?

Still in Korea?
Why did you go down to the 80?
And why did you sell the warp?
Just a different season of life where I enjoy boating around. The atom is lighter and easier
Yeah buddy. Great video.
About damn time. Lol welcome back.
Thanks. Feels good to be back.
Love your vids man! I always glean a little bit of knowledge from them. Nice review of the Atom, time for me to lose some pounds..

It's called an hgu56. You can find them or copies of them on ebay
Yes! He's back
Hi Mitch! Did you ask for that 1.40 cm prop, or it came directly in the box? I have the 1,30 cm prop. Thank you for your answer Mitch!,
I specifically asked for the 140 prop so I could get every extra bit of thrust from the atom 80
I have this set up but with a Moster. I weigh 95kg but wish I was lighter so I could get away with the atom. Such a sweet little motor
Where did you get the HGU-56 helmet? We’re you a Crewdog or flight engineer? That thing is sick
Where can I get a helmet like yours???? Its cool

Itv wasabi 24m. It's great

Still loving that Wasabi for both free/powered flight?
Yeah it's been great! I can't find a wing that I think would be better than the wasabi at pg and ppg
@@MitchG6 months later and I saw this thanks 👍
Hi Mitch seems you are in Korea, I fly in Debu area, would love to catch up if you want )
Hey Mitch, Just started flying and have a V-185. Was wondering why you changed to atom 80?
Lighter weight, quieter, easier to start and I didn't need the extra power of the moster as I'm mostly flying my larger glider
Love my Atom 80! Mosters are noisy and thirsty ;-)
Do you still have the gravity? I'm 160 lbs and having a tough time deciding between the 80 and 185.

Why did you decide to switch to an Atom 80 over the Moster?
Lighter weight, easier starting, better fuel consumption, less noise

Where did you get that helmet? It’s bad af!!
It’s a genuine army issue HGU-56/p you can buy them on your own for about $2300 or you can buy a replica for about $200
Also it a helicopter crew chief flight helmet. He’s either a Blackhawk or a shit hook crew chief.
