Thank you so much for BEAST/HIGHLIGHT's killing voice reaction. BEAST/HIGHLIGHT is one of the 2gen K-POP groups and has been active since their debut in 2009. They have excellent singing and dancing skills, but they are constantly striving for better music. Recently, they held a concert. Funfact about Highlight's main vocal, his name is Yang Yoseob, the man wearing the cool jeans xD and our vocal King: The guy never stops taking vocal lessons. That's how serious he is. Probably all of them though for all we know.

Highlight used to be called beast and they debuted in 2009 so they are 2nd generation. When they left the company and couldn’t get the rights over their name they became highlight and debuted again in 2017

the song " Fiction" got KBS Deasang in 2011. the song around 2:36:00 "비가 오는 날엔 (On Rainy Day)" is a zombie song, that always get back on the chart many time when the rain's falling in South Korea.

Would be great for you guys to watch CL's 2022 Waterbomb set. She was the closing act of the final day which was in Seoul. Stage presence insane, the whole crowd actually swapped their water guns to phones to record when she entered the stage 😂😂
OMG. Let me give you the lowdown on Beast/Highlight. Beast debuted in 2009 (2nd gen) and had 6 members: Dojoon (leader seen here on the far left), Yoseob (main singer, "cool pants" as deemed by Efra), GiKwang (cream sweater, main dancer), Dongwoon ("cool jacket whose voice Waleska liked. maknae, lead vocalist). Also, Hyunseung (vocalist who left in 2016 to pursue a solo career as they had musical differences. Fun fact: he also trained with Big Bang). There was also there main rapper Junhyung who wrote the majority of their music. He left the group in 2019. Beast was with Cube until they released their last album with them, "Highlight." Which along with MADE by Big Bang are my top two favorite kpop albums of all time. Also, as Cube wouldn't release the name "Beast" to them, they renamed themselves after that last album and started their own company, "Around Us." The group is known for being really close and having some amazing slow jams. haha Yoseob, actually is the idol with the most wins ever on Masked Singer and is tied for 2nd on the whole show. The whole group is super talented and I'd highly recommend watching their "Showterview" with Jessi as it is hilarious.
Omo, Hyunseung was my bias in Bigbang survival show and in the Beast and Troublemaker too. I'm glad he still releasing music after military.

Beast or Highlight is one of the groups that made me dig into Kpop. Darn, I'm singing along. Hahaha. Their main rapper left the group and unfortunately, also got involved in a massive controversy. I'm not into K-Hiphop that much but Mino is such a brilliant artist. Wow. Rain is way ahead of his time. That's why he's iconic. While Ailee is power diva personified. She also covered an OPM song, Kahit Isang Saglit. She's amazing. CL being the baddest of all while Jessi, she's an underrated vocalist. Star is actually my fave song of hers. Btw, you may check out Younha's killing voice episode too. Love her voice and her songs. This is such a fun podcast.
Junhyung has made a comeback recently. That controversy was not his making. Yes, it was handle poorly at first but he admitted that he watched the video. But he didnt know that it was recorded without consent. He never shared anything. That was why he was never charged with any crime. Then the audacity of the news channel trying to pin him in the chat group. He never was in the chat group. His chat was edited in. He never did any of those disgusting thing personally. He watched one video his friend sent him and deleted it afterward. The netizen really blame him for not reporting it. They even mistaking his name for one of the accused. I was really afraid if he will kill himself due to this.
P/s: I just want to clear some fact since many people only know that he was involved but not how much he was involved in. Many people doesnt seem to be interested on finding him not guilty. When people heard his name, they just remember the controversy. He couldnt even use 'Good Life'. Netizen really attack him over and over again when they saw or find out that he produced new songs.
Fun fact though: junhyung always pushed yoseob high note like literally out of his range. Yoseob suffered and even complained. It was necessary evil tho
No guys beast/highlight are 2nd 😭 You checked them out in the 2nd gen podcast. Groups that debuted around 2012 like Exo, bap, vixx etc started 3rd gen

Beast/Highlight debuted in 2009 and are 2nd gen. Kpop. Their former label mate in Cube, BTOB, debuted in 2012, so they’re 3rd gen. You mentioned BAP and BTS along with B/H as 3rd gen which is correct; but they consider B/H as their “hyungs” (elders) and their role models so clearly B/H are 2nd gen.

highlight is legend, they are respected in korea with the same level as shinee and bigbang. every title songs of them are hits. they have the king of vocal, nation boyfriend, king of dance. their most famous songs are fiction, beautiful night and on rainy days aka weather-forcast song in korean cause evrytime it's raining, the song charts. their rapper is outstanding and a hit-maker but he left n 2019.

Beast is actually a 2nd generation group. 2PM, 2AM, BEAST, SHINEE and MBLAQ are like batchmates, like they debuted months away from each other.
Generations in Kpop is a bit confusing but to put it in easy terms, 1st gen are the idols that are really famous in Korea that debuted before 2003. Groups like SES, FinKL, GOD, HOT, Shinhwa with Boa, Rain and Jewelry as some of the last notable debuts. 2nd gen idols are the first groups to go outside of Korea especially Japan. DBSK/TVXQ's debut started it and lasts until 2010/2011 with some of the biggest group debuts ever like SNSD, SuJu, 2ne1, Bigbang, Shinee with Infinite, Teen Top, Miss A, Sistar and Girl's Day as some of the last notable debuts for the 2nd gen. It's also known as the golden era for Kpop. Some fans also consider a 2.5 gen though with groups like APink, Block B, Girls' Day, Miss A, B1A4 (basically the late 2010 - early 2011 debuts). Then there's the 3rd gen with BTS, Got7, Twice that starts from 2011/2012 to arguably 2017 with EXO and BAP starting it and ending it with the first 2 Produce101 group (IOI, Wanna One and the groups that got created after their disbandment) and Blackpink debuts. Then the 4th gen started with groups like ITZY, ATEEZ, fromis_9, TXT, IZ*One which are groups that debuted 2018 up to present.
Actually Highlight do have a rapper in the group while they’re still known as Beast. He was Junhyung but due to 2018 scandals which involved a few more idols, they were banned and exited from entertainment industry. Beast or Highlight once upon time were one of top list idols from 3rd generations along with Infinite, MBLAQ, Teen Top and B.A.P

Wow finally you did the Highlight Killing Voice! The guy with cool jeans and ridiculously amazing vocals is Yang Yoseob. He was actually in King of Masked Singer as Fireplace Cat where he ranked 1st as the idol with most wins and 2nd in terms of overall ranking. If you have time you can also check out his performance in King of Masked Singer. Also, Highlight is indeed a vocal group and yes even to fans, it’s insane how good they all are vocally. OMG, so glad you guys got to check out Highlight's Killing Voice! They are such amazing vocalists and have an outstanding discography. They are 2nd Generation(not sure what website you were reading) and used to have a rapper and one more vocalist. Doojoon, far left, usually does the rap parts when they sing their older songs now but they didn't include many of those parts in this. Their newer stuff does not have rap lines. Their lead vocalist, Yang Yoseob, is considered one of the best male vocalist in SK. I would definitely recommend checking him out when you have time. I would recommend his run on King of Mask Singer as it has nice variety and range in his performances. He is currently the idol vocalist with the longest winning streak on the show (8) and I want to say like 2nd or 3rd overall.
Rain still got it. He brings back the memory of 2000s but also he's still hot

Mino is on a league of his own. He truly is an one-of-a-kind artist ,who exceeds every expectation every single time. His lyricism is out of this world, his flow is also one of the best on the khiphop scene and his overall Songwriting and Producing skills are GodTier. His stage presence is also one of the best I've ever witnessed , he doesn't have to do anything in order to get the attention, whether he likes or not ,his aura ,demands for your attention. Mino is one of the idol rappers that were pretty respected in the khiphop scene. That is why there is no issue when MNET get him as a one of the producers in SMTM10. What I love about Mino is his lyricism and his flow. His lyrics are really something that even his debut solo full length album, XX, was not translated accurately and even koreans said that some of the lyrics he used are hard to understand bcoz of the wordplay. You can't also be bored watching and listening to him since he has that variety in his music and his flow is not stoic.
Glad you liked him a lot :) Btw. Mino will be once again in Dingo, but this time, he will be together with his group, WINNER. They will be on Killing Voice. I hope u could check them out soon. Also, Winner just recently came back after 2 years with an ep called Holiday and with a title track called I LOVE U. I also hope you could check it :)

Highlight is still very active, realeased at least one albums every year since their debut in 2009, except the years they were in military service. They are well known for vocal talents and great live performances, so I hope you get a chance to enjoy more of their music of recent two years (when they came back from military).
And their main vocal, yo seop, released solo album last year. Hope you can check out the title "brain" MV.

Born in 1982, he has accomplished so much: song, dance, Hollywood movies (Ninja Assassin), Korean and Chinese dramas, host, mentor, tiktok, family man with numerous awards. I like this video because it showcases his singing, which is sometimes eclipsed by his dancing, physique and charisma on stage. He is someone who is always looking to improve himself and loves his fans.
The last two songs were recent collaborations he did. Switch to Me was with JYP, their mv is a must see, and Why Don't We with Chungha. The performance video really showcases Rain's dancing. And remember he is 39 in videos!

The Beast/Highlight killing voice did have subs guys! The guy that you kept saying is really good is Yoseob the main vocalist but they’re all really good I agree. Also the group is 2nd gen not 3rd, 2012 marks the beginning of 3rd gen the year Exo debuted.
