No Liverpool fan but always had a real soft spot for Torres. Arguably the best striker in the world at the peak of his powers, and seems a genuinely good bloke
My favourite player in my childhood as a german. Since the day he defeated us in 2008 I felt like he’s insane. Absolute role model and hell of a player. God he was so great, pure nostalgia
This guy was unarguably the best player in the world during his prime. Its not just the goals but the finesse in scoring them, takes his time, glides past players, cuts left and right, slots it into an empty net, places it beyond the keepers reach, shooting unstoppable shots, the way he caresses the ball like a fine wine, he was just unreal, incredible and phenomenal
Was backpacking around India around 10 years ago. We had a driver for part of the trip who was the nicest guy I have ever met. Very thoughtful and kind, he would always take us to the best hotels with discounts and even helped us get our money back when we got scammed. I'll never forget him. He showed me a photo of him with Torres and told us he was his driver 5 years previously when Torres was travelling by himself around India and wanted to keep it low-key. He said at the end of the trip Torres gave the driver his brand-new Samsung mobile phone (the phone the driver was still using to that day) and a Liverpool AND Chelsea shirt that he had with him with his name on it and signed. The driver actually didnt know who he was until the end of the trip. Torres is amazing.
I'm 48. And never have I ever seen a forward this graceful yet powerful. Edit: I'm old enough to have witnessed the other forwards mentioned. And they are also impeccable, world class players. I'm trying to say that Torres had this run at full tilt and change of direction without breaking stride. Like a ballerina and then he'll also unleash amazing force.
@@ShiningDarknessSucks torres already had prime xabi alonso & dirk kuyt for support along with gerrard. Suarez is a striker so it would've been different
It's not scoring, it's HOW I score that counts! Torres was a Master of goals, and also a brilliant player with a unique skill set! Even as Aston Villa fan, I always enjoyed watching him play n score! Football Artist!👍
I was so happy when we signed him at Chelsea, but he never realised his true potential with us, because injuries have taken their toll on his speed. But, man, when he was at Liverpool, he was undisputedly the best striker in the world.
@@SkintoneChickenboneboth of them are eeriely similar in style both have the ability to create a goal from nothing and both have the ability to beat defenders leaving them falling all over the box
Still a hero of mine, we got the best version of nando, I never hated on him for leaving. Phenomenal striker he was in his prime, a taller version of Owen a little, could create a chance from nothing and would 90% of the time finesse the ball in.
My favorite Liverpool striker Fernando Torres in recent times. His goals were the most spectacular by far. Back in the seventies Kevin Keegan was my hero.
i still remember watching the 2008 euros and falling in love with him as a player, it's what made me fully embrace my dad's club as well and become a liverpool supporter. what a player. one of a kind truly.
and i haven't felt anything close to that until this summer, watching this spain team feels like a reincarnation of the absolute majesty that was the spain 2008 to 2012 era and i am so happy for it. the yamal williams partnership is pure excitement to watch. that whole team has something magical about it, i hope they can build on it further and dominate international football over the coming years
My favourite striker during long time... and I am Spanish and Real Madrid fan! On his peak, he was amazing, and I think every RM fan would have loved to see him in white (even when I know he hates RM). You Liverpool fans were very lucky!
Every now and then, a good manager gets a group of players in their peak and they just pull rabbits out of their hats. Benitez Liverpool was so much fun to watch in a time when Chelsea was dominant, Arsenal was untouchable with Reyes, Henry and Viera and United had Forlan, Van Nistelrooy, Ronaldo, Rooney... to me, by far, the golden era of the Premier League. It actually reminded me of Italian Calcio in the mid 90s
All good ones.. and although he put that vs Inter Milan goal at 7.. It was the one that made me footbally in love with this legend. 👑 Nunca Caminaras Solo.
I remember I saw Torres live in Spain and he was 17 years old and played in La Liga. I said to my friend who was with me. “Torres will play for Liverpool sometime in the future” -In your dreams, he answered. I loved when he came and loved how I played. Finally Steve G had someone to play the game with 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I can remember the second goal, which FT put on the 4th. What a ridiculous goal. That one I told a lot of friends about. In this period he was just on fire
His goal against Germany in Euro 2008 is the hallmark of why he's a premier striker of that time. One opportunity, one on one with the defender and he puts it home.
He was unstoppable for Liverpool. Not at his best for Chelsea and yet to Chelsea fans like myself, he'll go down as a legend. The most important goal he ever scored, was for Chelsea.. 2012 vs Uefalona to put us through to that glorious night in Munich 🩵
I feel so lucky to have experienced Torres at Liverpool, the song and the goals! We witnessed domination by a world-class player at his absolute peak. Unplayable.
I followed your instructions and my scalp exploded with tingles. 😌 Thank you so much for another lovely ASMR video, Nanou! 🥰 I really enjoyed this one. ❤️ I left a like for you! 😊👍
I started cheering for Liverpool after the group games where we were eliminated in the group with Lyon, Fiorentina and Debrecen, ahh Fernando, your departure really hurt me as a boy, I was hoping you wouldn't do that but you left anyway, then I thought if you should start cheering for Chelsea, but I still understood that it was impossible, Liverpool was in a decline of form, the end and middle of the table was in sight, but still I loved that club more than every subsequent defeat, really that club, Anthem, many will not understand that... With the red I was in some very difficult moments of relegation from the Europa League against Braga, even more painful was the one against Russian Zenit (I couldn't hide my tears there). It was hard to watch the defeats, but with the arrival of Jürgen, the sun and trophies came, I hope that Arne Slot will bring something like that. ! and if you are the third league, for me you are the center of the world, my LIVERPOOL!!! FERNANDO IS A LEGEND NO MATTER WHAT, but the best striker we've ever had that I remember is Roberto Firmino 🇧🇦🇧🇦❤️❤️

I'd do everything to get that shirt
He was consistently scoring unbelievable goals
Until Suarez and salah come along 🔥
Salah just scores an insane amount of goals consistently, of that in itself is amazing. But the goals don't have the beauty like Torres, not at all.
I Always loved this guy since i was a kid, just his hairstyle was iconic back then!

Sadly Darwin is more like Morientes in a Liverpool shirt.
Nunez is miles off this kind of quality...
Jota is the closest to Torres and Fowler in terms of finishing

Liverpool Torres was different. World Class always showed up in big matches.🔥
