The pancake convo tho!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 As a Brit I always knew the little fat pancakes that Americans have with syrup and bacon as 'American pancakes'. The big, thin, floppy ones that we flip on pancake day were always just 'pancakes' and those ARE 'crepes'. I'm gonna google how to say 'American pancakes' in French! 😂 Ok, if I was there and wanted American pancakes, I'd ask for 'crepe americain'. Anyway, I'd want a crepe-crepe so wouldn't bother ask for American nuttin! That bit was funny tho. Everyone getting all heated over the crepe! 😂😂😂😂😂 Ok, I've finished watching now. Another wicked travel video, Amina. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 You really know how to capture the VIBBBBES - I felt like I was there with y'all, grinning away all the way through! 😎 Btw lots and lots and LOTS of Paris is dirty and trashy with all the normal shops you see here! Y'all were in the boujie bits! I haven't been in aaaaages but back in the day, me and the girls would hang out in Chatlet Les Halles, a big grotty shopping mall. Kinda grimy like Oxford Street, but lots of young people there and fashion and JOKES! Dunno if it's still there though. Last time I was there they were knocking half of it down.
😂😂 Yh I always saw the super thick fluffy pancakes as “American style” pancakes as that’s usually what their packaging wld say & the ones that were thinner, were just pancakes. But I definitely recognise that the really thin paper like “pancakes” are crepes for french ppl. I was just more emphasising that in general language terms, pancake is translated as crepe. I wld actually like to visit that side of Paris & catch the vibes, cos in all three occasions that I’ve been to Paris, it’s always been the more “fancier” tourist areas with all the designer stores. Would be nice to visit some regular everyday shops in a French neighbourhood or town centre. 💕
@THIS IS AMINA Just googled Chatlet Les Halles. Looks like the shopping centre is now a giant...... Westfield!!! 😀 Got regular shops like Zara, H&M, Footlocker, etc. In the surrounding streets, there's allsorts of shops - trainers, clothes, etc, plus Mcds, Quick (French Mcds basically), kebab shops and allsorts of fast food places. We used to love the 'merguez frites' basically a North African spicy lamb sausage in a baguette with fries over the top. Trash, but yummy trash!!! 😋 Somewhere like Barbès or St Denis is where you'd find black hair shops, markets, immigrant food shops, etc. You'd have to look on Trip Advisor or whatever to get the proper low down. Don't forget to check out the black clubs. I used to take all my London girls there - they used to LOVVVVVVVE them! Raving and jokes till the early hours!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I would love to see y'all do a video on that side of Paris. Take a gang of your girls for a long weekend. It would be JOKESSSSSS!!!!!
