    I can’t wait to start my Stitching box and Needlekeep 😊 what a great idea!!! And THEN that Sampler!!! I’ve been trying to figure out how to make the backs of my stitching look like the front and when you said you are offering the class well sign me up for that one too 😂 You are so soooo talented …. I can’t wait to learn more from you ❤

      Thank you so much! Reversible stitching isn't as complicated as it seems - more just getting into the right mindset, and then being very careful with your thread beginnings and endings. The Britomart sampler is my first time doing it myself, and while it was a little slow at first, once I got used to it it's really grown on me!

    I enjoy seeing your progress on AKGIT every time you bring it out! You'll be finished in no time and it will be a huge accomplishment with that many stitches. Your Britomart sampler is coming along beautifully and I'm sorry that your green was not playing as nicely as expected. Another great video!

      Thank you so much! Color problems can be really frustrating, but it's also part of what makes color so eternally interesting...

    It was lovely to catch up with you today. Katie and your Stitching is spectacular as always. The chocolate sewing box is sure to be a massive hit. You can’t go wrong with the word chocolate in a name.🤪. The Britamart Sampler is so intriguing (did I spell that correctly???). AKGIT is going to look stunning on your wall and you are going to miss it once it’s finished. Thanks for all the inspiration.

      I'm going to have to give a spelling class because no one except myself can spell it - Britomart, the embodiment of martial Britain. But I think you're wrong on one point, my friend - I won't miss stitching AKGIT at all, because I will be too busy preening as I admire it on the wall!!!!!!

    I stitched the Feathered nest pinkeep last year, but haven’t finished it yet - so I’m looking forward to your tutorial coming up! I’m also quite enjoying the Britomart sampler progress. Seeing your design process is so interesting- and as you tweak it, I’m liking it more and more. I don’t think my design eye is as fine tuned as yours, but I can definitely see what you are talking about making the design more balanced. I’m looking forward to more progress to come.

      Thank you! Design is always a process, and with something as large as Britomart, there's a lot of revision - my ideas keep changing as more of it comes to life, and sometimes that means revisiting earlier ideas, but hopefully the end result will be a really beautiful piece!

    I could use some Spring time here. We had snow twice this past week but looks like the weather will be great this week. The kits are beautiful. Love the strawberry to be. Your AKGIT is awesome! I just about finished ALL the letters and now on to the fun stuff. Every time my Mom comes over she checks the back of the sampler, I am very proud of not carrying over the threads. My question to you as you are nearing the end, do you see another project like AKGIT? I have more Bristol Samplers but may do a smaller one before another big one. My cousin in England has started a Bristol too and they weren’t familiar with the Bristol Orphanage so they are reading all about it. I so love that green thread, the Britomart is beautiful. Thank you for sharing the tutorial in the next video. Here’s to Spring!

    • @katiestrachanembroidery
      @katiestrachanembroidery  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! That's a good question, and no, not in this format. I dislike stitching letters so a Bristol wouldn't be something I would enjoy, as spectacular as they are. But I do see more large band samplers in my future, certainly. I kind of like the idea of AKGIT being something really special and unique in my stitching journey - hung on the wall as a tribute to the glorious piece and the process of stitching it, but essentially standing alone. I totally understand how doing it could give you the bug for other mega projects in that vein though.

    Wow, beautiful work! Okay I like the pinkeep but can't be spending right now. What I am waiting for is the second run of the Elizabethan valentine and I hope that doesn't happen for a bit yet so I can get it when it does come. Not yet though!!!

    I don’t know how to cross-stitch but I sure want to learn!!! I’m obsessed with watching floss tubes ! I love the little bird one!! Maybe I’ll have to buy my 1st cross-stitch kit ever… well I need a sewing box so maybe both!!what does FFO stand for ?

    • @katiestrachanembroidery
      @katiestrachanembroidery  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you! Fully finished object - as opposed to something where you've finished the actual stitching but it hasn't yet been framed, or made into an object, etc. And cross stitch is wonderfully easy - really you just make an x, but I am sure there are tons of tutorials on youtube.

    Jatie, what are you going to do with the brenna mart sampler? Do you have a place to put it where you csn see front and back. And would you be willing to share some of your framed pieces on your walls? Your stitching is so lovely!!

    • @katiestrachanembroidery
      @katiestrachanembroidery  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Britomart sampler will be hemstitched, rolled up, and stored in the Britomart casket, it won't be framed. And I would be happy to share but I don't actually have anything framed on my walls - AKGIT will be the exception!

    Hi Katie :) I really enjoyed your flosstube as always! I am hoping to purchase the Feathered Nest pinkeep kit for my daughter. My calendar is marked! I was wondering if you would ever consider doing a small kit for a reversible sampler? I am very intrigued, but is it something that could be done on aida? I can stitch on linen, but I am happiest working on aida. I hope you are having a wonderful day :)

    • @katiestrachanembroidery
      @katiestrachanembroidery  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much! As to your question, I gave it a fair amount of thought as I wanted to give you a considered and thoughtful answer and I think the answer is probably no. The Britomart sampler is almost entirely over 2, and the few over 1 stitches could be adjusted, but I think getting a good result with the satin stitch on aida would be incredibly difficult. The wider threads just make it too hard to cover, and satin stitch is so much a part of my own toolkit that I don't think I'm the best person to do it.
      But that doesn't mean you can't and shouldn't explore reversible stitching on aida. Needlemade Designs' Reversible Cross Stitch Sampler is almost entirely over 2 and I would think could be worked successfully on aida, you'd just have to drop the small motifs at the end of rows 1 and 3, which are over 1. The reversible stitching is beautifully diagrammed and really well explained - it's a small project, and you could explore the topic in a way that suits your preferred materials. I hope that helps!
