i like how they pull internalization and characterization from each other. being in the palace also enveloped them in a different vibe. yool must be guarded at all times with regard to his emotions in the palace but misses hong shim so much that she appears in front of him. in this scene hong shim is just a vision, which is why kyung soo seems to keep hold of his focus in between takes. he is focusing that hyunnie in front of him isn't real. hyunnie, is able to keep a happy coutnenance because she is enacting the usual hong shim, village or palace, the location must not affect her character because she is a vision. This scene is more emotionally heavy for yool than hong shim. but hyunnie is still able to break the focus of kyungsoo at some point heheh! i applaud DO's acting ability, he is quite a method actor. he becomes the character and makes it himself.
