    i love how everyone is saying how they want a Mr. grey. the guy is a rapist. if i try to have sex with a woman and she repeatedly says no, thats rape. do some women enjoy literal unwanted sex? y yes, yes they do. its not something they can control, its called an involuntary orgasm in most cases and doesnt change the factor of rape. also this is supposed to be "kinky" by the looks of the trailer but he is in actuality an abuser, a dom will give full disclosure on wat is about to happen and wat to prepare for. obviously all the details cant be said as that would ruin the fun but they no wat there getting into. ontop of this u always use a safe word wen working with critical kinds of kink. not having one can be life threatening. this is not a book/movie to support or look up to in any way unless u have a fantasy about literally being raped by someone while be continues to beat u harder then chris brown did to rihanna. and i doubt anyone found that ass whoopin all to kinky

    • @aprildehaven
      @aprildehaven 10 ปีที่แล้ว +178

      Never once did Christian "rape" anyone in the book. Ana was only saying "no" because the feeling was too intense. They always had safewords in use if needed. Ana asked him to show her how bad it could be, he never did anything to her that she didn't want. I've read the books, multiple times, and I loved them. Granted, I wasn't sure about them because I'm not into BDSM, but the books are so much more than that. It is a work of fiction and that's what it is. So what if it's not true in all aspects of BDSM...E.L. James took some liberties and wrote the story how she wanted to. People need to stop acting like they know what the book is about, because when it comes down to it they don't know the first thing about it.

    • @aprildehaven

      Let me think about it...No. I will not shut up. How about you try acting like an adult when someone corrects you on something you're wrong about. Like I said, I have read the books and I have corrected you. If you don't like the fact that I do know what I am talking about...tough luck, that's on you.

    I'm sorry but no matter how many times I keep watching this trailer, Dakota isn't doing it for me. Some of those scenes, she made me cringe! She just doesn't fit the description. I was so disappointed with their choice in the cast, it's completely fucked up! Jamie sort of grew on me, but I'm gonna have to pass on this.

    • @drgatita
      @drgatita 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Lodatzor Yeah. It pretty much explains everything. That's the reason of my comment.

    • @shadowkitty931
      @shadowkitty931 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No, it isn't weird. It's explained in the books that Ana is a poor-ish, college student. That is literally the best outfit she owns. It is also explained that she wasn't supposed to do the interview. It was supposed to be her roommate, but she got sick. After that, it's your typical "unremarkable girl has remarkable effect on a boy with many demons and together they realize love conquers all." I enjoyed the books, but it's not the best series I've ever read. I am just a sucker for love stories, and the twisted side of their love was a nice break from the other side of the stereotypical love stories.

    for all those people that think that this movie is all about the sex its not, it is actually about two different people with two different pasts, that come together and create a big love story between them, and they start to change each other for the better... i give created to the makers of this film and how they showed the love story between them, and how they went on this big journey just to be with each other...

      SIOBHAN ALLAN Do you honestly think the producers of these films were going for a love story of two different people, who change each other for the better ? Cause all they want is to show off their actor's bodies, and how sexy everything they do is.

    • @siobhanallan6906
      @siobhanallan6906 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Golden Snitch .. i have actually watched this and sure there bodies look great.. but thats not the point is it... the story is about theae to people.. one with a messed up background and one with a good coming together and changing eachother for the good...

    • @giuseppelambrinos2458
      @giuseppelambrinos2458 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      SIOBHAN ALLAN Yeah, but they focus a lot too much on the sex, and that really takes a lot out from the actual storyline. The way they made it just seems overly sexual for no reason, cause while people know there is a storyline, and that it's not just a cinematic porno, they still do get distracted, when 85% of the movie is them having sex.

      It was a fanfic...this is actually why, although it is a terrible book, it works. It wasnt written for money, cynically, but was a labour of love. I dont know why that is, but authenticity shines through. so although all the publishing companies went mad at Vintage for getting such a blockbuster..and called out to women everywhere to write their own, it hasnt worked. Women did send in their stories and it all fell flat. They were written for money, not love. funny, isnt it?

    • @BGWhisperer
      @BGWhisperer 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Fiona Beswick That is so true with any any book. Stephenie Meyer wrote her book for herself, no intention of anyone reading it. E.L. James wrote hers for herself. She said it was her fantasies, her mid-life crisis. It stands to reason that if an author writes the story out of love, to entertain themselves, it's bound to resonate with other people. That's why these books are so successful. It's not about how well-written they are.

    what i hate the most about 50 shades is that it gives a bad name to fanfiction adn fangirls.... what we do isn't shit, it isn't to encourge toxic behavior or stupid: it's art, therapy and healing. I hate that she is the one reprecenting all of us...and I agree with whoever stated that she sounds like an 15 year old who not only just based her "facts" on porn but never even bothered to actually read even any other fanfiction about it. I'm not even into BDSM but I know for a fact that the relationship is supposed to be based on respecting and taking care of one and others needs and through grow stronger as persons. I will not and can not support something that is encouraging naïve teens into abusive relationships.

    All I get from watching the trailer is: This is a middle aged woman's fantasy to be taken away from her hum-drum plain jane life and into an exotic world of sex and money - is this really all this movie has to offer or am I missing something?

    • @mieroth
      @mieroth 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This series is primarily about Christian Grey (and is why it's called "50 shades of Grey") He has some really weird and messed up views about relationships since he was sexually abused when he was younger. This first book (and film) is more about what you said though - it centers on Ana and her being swept away by him and slowly coming to realise how messed up he is. And it ends - SPOILERS - with her leaving him.

      No I don't think you are missing anything. I think many women have fantasies and they don't understand that they would be too alarmed to try it in reality. But, if you mix in drugs, it can go like the fantasy. But an S/M man is not a nice person like the common run of the mill man who is exercising self-restraint.

      @alice16399 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      ***** You've summarized the first book decently at certain points. There's much more to the book other than the sex. Ana isn't a 'middle-aged' woman, she's is only 21 years old in the book.The story isn't all about lust and money. In fact, Ana never dated Christian for his money rather because she was attracted to him. The book contains more vanila sex scenes than the 'kinky fuckery'. After Ana left Christian, he realizes that he have fallen for her. He utterly agrees to have a normal relationship (A relationship with neither rules nor punishments) with her until she's ready for the 'bdsm' relationship, he didn't took her to his playroom that much either. And blah blah. In the end, they get married and have two adorable children (If you skip the melodramatic parts) and the story ends with a happy ending.

    • @alice16399

      ***** It depends on your taste. 50SOG is very similar to twilight (Of course, It's a fan-fic of twilight) and both of the books are best sellers, seems like people love reading stories like these. I guess..
      I only read this story because of Christian's past (It's interesting) and because of Ana and Christian's love story (It's adorable and funny though)..

      ***** It's the teenage schools girls fantasy grown up, yet still just as unrealistic.
      When you think about the female hetero feminists when they talk about "rape culture" and "rich white male privilege", I think it's almost entirely psychological projection. I mean, how many feminists can you name that ended up with man that wasn't white or rich (or at least richer than her)?
      I think these female hetero feminists actually do get off from being dominated by a successful and powerful man, yet it goes completely against their beliefs, so the only way they can manage the cognitive dissonance that results is to project their desires onto the external, hence they see rape and white male privilege everywhere!
      My best guess is that this is a pretty common fantasy of women. I mean, how else can you explain the success of this poorly written book and others like it?

    • @johnnyxp64

      +Sujey Ocegueda -because most people on this yt page are stupid ass ignorant fools who havnt seen the movie or read the books. Most people's questions to why this (crazy fucked up)conflict happens in this relationship is answered in the second book. The first book/movie just sets up the introduction of characters and background of what is to come. It was written as an trilogy/series from the beginning so all conflict/struggles are not to be resolved in one book/movie. If there was no conflict at the end, it would be just like every other tied in bow boring simple love story movie. Why I find this trilogy so fascinating is not all normal crap people say about it, its the sad struggles that Grey/Steele have with each other and within themselves. You know the saying, "everyone comes with little baggage". This comes to mind big time. How we deal with it defines us.
      What as a person, are you willing to sacrifice, change, or compromise in order to be with the person you love.....

    Ok this is coming from someone who read all three of the books and literally just watch the movie today.
    I personally think that the majority of the people saying that the story contains rape and abuse did not read the book. They simply heard of it from someone else who maybe just didn't like the story and wanted to discourage other people into reading it.
    To me, rape means forcing someone to have sex with you or ignoring them when they ask you to stop. NOT ONCE did Christian force Anastasia to have sex. He had her read and sign a contract. Every time they're about to experience something new, he made sure she remembered what the safe words were. He told her on many occasions that she had ALL the power. If she didn't want to do any of this, he would have no right to force her. When they were having sex, he only threatened to tie her up so she could stay still and not touch him because he never liked being touched due to his troubled past. But of course you guys would know that if you read the story before making assumptions. Before he introduced her to his playroom, he reminded her that his helicopter was there to take her home in case all of this was too much for her. She CHOSE to stay. I never heard of a rapist given options to his victim before.
    Concerning the abuse rumors, there are three types of abuse. Verbal abuse, which is when you make someone feel insecure or humiliate them, bullying them. If there's one thing I am sure of it's that Christian was the reason that Anastasia became confident. She always saw herself as average or not "that beautiful" and Christian never failed to remind her of how beautiful she was and how proud and lucky he was to be with her.
    Emotional abuse, which is a form of abuse that can make someone depressed or stressed. I think we all can agree that Christian did not make her depressed.
    Physical abuse, which is when you actually hit someone. Well, unless you think that spanking is abuse then there is no abuse in the book. Also spanking is a part of BDSM. He never slapped her or anything. He hit her with his belt once because she WANTED to know how bad it could hurt and that was before she left him and made him realize that he needed to choose between his lifestyle and her. Of course he chose her.
    And please don't say that the story will make women want to be tied up or anything because although I loved every second of it and found it to be quite interesting, I don't see myself in that kind of relationship only because I'm not sure I will ever be able to follow someone's order. But there are actual people who enjoy it and not because of the book. Believe it or not BDSM existed before Fifty Shades of Grey, loll. Also Christian didn't take advantage of her because she was naive. He didn't even know she was a virgin until after he showed her his playroom and the contract. He chose her because she was the type of women he was interested in and also if you read the story in his POV, he said that she looked like a natural submissive, which she was definitely not. She might have been new to all of it but she wasn't stupid or incapable to say no. Christian didn't trick her into saying yes or force any if it on her. He actually was quite surprised to see that she still wanted to be part of his life after discovering the relationship he was seeking.
    So now, tell me where you guys read about the rape and the abuse because it seemed to me that I missed a big part of the story. I'm very much AGAINST rape and abuse of course and I would've never supported this story if it contained those.
    That being said, when you look beyond the sexual contents, you will realize that this story is about a man who didn't think that he deserved love until he met Anastasia. He thought that his sexual desire could only be satisfied by inflicting pain on others (sadist) but Anastasia made him realize that he was capable of giving and receiving love just like everyone else. She showed him true happiness while he showed her the world, helped her discover the most sexual part of herself, her limits and made her become more confident.

      OH MY GOD THANK YOU! I just posted on here to bc I was getting hella pissed with all the rape comments and stuff so I totally agree with you, they can't voice their opinion without watching the movie or reading the book because like you said she was NEVER forced into it she CHOSE and everything he did was a part of BDSM there is so many different aspects to BDSM and people should really read up on it before they comment on a subject they're uneducated about. I can't wait for the next two movies.

      I haven't YET seen the movie (too much snow we've been getting here lately in Ma) but I very carefully read every last page of the first 2 books in the trilogy & half of the 3rd book: Even more than the various acts of super hot, non vanilla sex Anastasia & Christian FREQUENTLY engage in, I LOVE the "mind games"-the back & forth intellectual banter that regularly takes place between Christian & Anastasia: Ignorant people compare the movie to porn, but tell me when is the last time you saw INTELLIGENT, depth filled characters portrayed in a pornographic film? (The frequent ridiculous insinuation out here that the books/movie glorify rape is nothing but BS-We who are familiar with every aspect of this complex, complicated "love story" know for certain that the free spirited, often willful/stubborn Anastasia Steele never did ANYTHING SEXUAL she didn't want to do, & her man Christian Grey wouldn't have had it any other way!!!)

      ***** I literally fell in love with the book. Couldn't believe it could come to an end.... The character development of christian in darker and freed is just amazing! He never leaves one moment to say I love you to her and the way he counts all the firsts with her is just adorable.
      I saw the movie and honestly the time went by pretty quickly. It was very explicit but you can't blame them, the book is an erotica. However if you haven't read the books you don't see then falling in love with each other much but I loved every bit of it

    I've read this trilogy thrice, and after each time I found myself cringing at every chapter. I'm not gonna lie, I like the characters but the executions on the books were daunting and horrid with major plot holes everywhere. The actor, he's hot (Amen for that) but he just doesn't scream 'Christian Grey' imo. And the acting, oh boy, the acting... I was super hyped up when the first poster came out but the excitement is deteriorating by the minute now. To me, it's like Twilight all over again, I used to love the novels to death but the movies made me wanna tear down the cinema's screen. Irony: this trilogy was originally Twilight's fanfiction. She's a total babe in near uni's graduation but always "Oh, my roommate is a true swan while I'm this ugly duckling". She stands in for her roommate to interview he, the almighty CEO of US's (maybe) biggest company or something (you get the gist), insanely rich and incredibly handsome (like one look he makes can get a woman blush). He's infatuated by her and her by him (shocker~) but he keeps saying to her he's not the flower and heart kind of guy and she still clings on and so does he. and after no more than a week he got her on a date and tell her to sign a NDA and reveals he's a Dominant who likes to put women under his submission, with BDSM tools and blah blah. And then he deflowers her, then she considers his - very eager and desperate - offer and decides they would try for a few months, and then a lot of erotic encounter but with very little actual BDSM. By the end of the first book, she got whipped by him with his belt and she thinks it's not for her and walks out.

    From a man's point of view, I actually think this movie looks good and don't quite understand why people dislike and hate it so much, I haven't read the books. I still think it looks great, I guess over half the people commenting only came to hate on this trailer and the series. Most people won't agree especially other men, but this movie actually looks decent. There isn't anything wrong with it, it has a good story, a beautiful leading actress, an attractive lead actor. It's only different from other movies, because there won't be any killing or guns, and people that hunt action movies, need to open their mind to a different genre.

    Don't go see this... I absolutely will not be going to see this. I don't go to the movies anyway. He opened her up to his world of sexual perversion and she was willing because of the curiosity. This movie is going to open a lot of people up to this stuff and turn them out. This gets to you one a soul level corrupting you don't buy into. Never read the book and surely will not be going to see the movie. I feel tainted just by seeing the trailer alone. #helpthisworldlord #agodlessworld gone from the heart of man and this is only a portion of what you get.
    He says I exercise control over all things letting you know he fears nothing and no one he in his mind has no need for a God to be head over his life because he thinks of himself to he God that's in control. God laughs at people like this (who think they are in control God's themselves, and don't need him), and that is why he is just in his judgement of all men especially the wicked. Don't buy into this its only going to get into your soul.

BUUUTTT am I the only one who is excited to see this movie?? If you have read ALL 3 of the books, you'd understand it's not all sexual as everyone who hasn't read the series says it is! It's SUCH a good series! The plot is totally captivating; Though, sadly, overshadowed by the sexual fantasies everyone is so focused on. Smh. I mean- Ms. Robinson AND Jack? I'm excited to see who plays them. Anyways I'm happy I get to see it play out in theaters. ^.^

      The reason Matt Bomber wasn't cast is because the guy creating the movie said that he wouldn't do a good job because he's gay.
      The character Matt Bomber played in White Collar, (which was a GREAT series), was completely straight and he was sooooo convincing as a straight guy.
      Obviously the guy never saw White Collar.

    I thought everything is just an imagination and then I watched this countless times. It makes my imagination so real. They really exist. The characters now exist in the real world and that's the important thing than complaining about it. I can't wait to see the movie. If you genuinely love the book, whoever will play each character on a movie adaptation, your imagination will never be ruined. I certainly genuinely love the book and I know I'll fall in love with the movie. I just fell in love with the trailer. I keep on watching it again and again and it gets better and better.
    P.S. I love Christian Grey! :)

    I have never seen a book so misunderstood by so many people. The theme of "50 Shades of Grey" is that love heals all wounds. As a result of his abusive early childhood, Christian Grey is an emotionally wounded man who doesn't know how to love and trust others; Ana's love for him helps him overcome his abusive past and move on to a healthy, loving relationship. Period. Don't believe all the negative (and ill informed) garbage out there.

      read the books, they are good, its just a erotic romantic story.
