After 5 years and a lot of losses, I am finally consistently profitable. Starting analysis with a higher time-frame is essential. So is price action/structure. Risk management is my weak area. I need to wait for better entries so my losses are less, and i really need to learn to let my winners run. Thanks for another great video, awesome work.
Tips from a master - your tips are a must for all traders. Nice, considering you work for a trading platform market ...shows your integrity! Thanks Dave. Maybe more vids on trading techniques. My tips ( very similar to yours ).: Avoid over leverage - everyone wants to make £1000 from £100. Avoid automated stops ( trading companies love to spike them out ..may e have a manual stop ). Avoid trying to catch a turn in a market ( many seem to want to sell a rising market and buy a falling market ). Hold onto a winning trade ( How many people sell a winning trade only to see it rise another 100%. Apple is a good example ). Don't panic if a winning trade falls back ...( the market makers love to "shake the tree" ). Don't day trade ( almost certain to lose ). Don't buy systems off the internet. Don't use scalping strategies ( profits are lost by spread ). Do buy and hold..with a long term view. I tend to buy with a 2 year view. Don't use indicators AT ALL. I use trends and support and resistance.
Some great tips there - particularly agree with the focus on support/resistance/trends. I think we are all always learning, regardless of our experience.
@@Capitaltrading Hi Dave, Traders tend to just do TA or FA but there are more options. I am currently researching correlation between Google Searches and Markets ... If everyone is searching "Bitcoin" then they may be buying it also. The results are interesting and a firm correlation exists between Bitcoin price ( for example ) and Google searches. Im watching your Videos since quiet a while now and i really like it. With the last point, I did that wrong for long Time, I couldn't see my Chart anymore 🤣 Now I stick to the RSI only. It tells me not to enter a Trade but rather when I should stay away from a Trade. Thanks again 🍀

The challenge with "trade the trend" is that there is almost always several trends running depending on the timeframe. When you choose one, then your risk may not be manageable versus the other trends so putting your stop loss can be hard. The "easiest" is to be patient and enter the longer possible timeframe trend on a key level where other shorter term trends are not exposing you too much. Not so easy to do in reality...

Would you say trading is a "use it or lose it" skill? I LOVED LOVED LOOOOVED trading but when Robinhood glitched and no one was able sell, I blew up my account. Very discouraging. Very time I see your video upload notifications, it makes me want to fire up the engine again.
It's an interesting point. I think if you are engaged with markets on a regular basis it can help you learn more about your own individual trading approach, but it is important to resist the pull of over-trading.

i got liquidated and lost my whole portfolio in a trade... How can I cope with the loss and start trading again ? I lost all my confidence and funds for trading....
I never place a trade that could lose me more than 1% of my account. I plot my stop and TP where they make sense to be, check and make sure win/loss ratio is more than 2:1, and then alter position size until my maximum risk at stop loss is 1% account value. Then you have a fighting chance to beat the market over time.
If you don't have funds, the answer is easy... start saving again. When you'll have enough to start trading again, use very small position until you validate your trading system (you need one first...). Good luck ;-) and agreed with previous comment, never go beyond 1% risk, maybe 2% if you have the golden configuration.
Don't open an account. You won't get your money back. Plus the platform is not working well. Happened to me that I apparently bought crude and lost 75% of my money invested

Completely agree with your point here. I think you need to decide which time frame trend you are going to trade, and set stops accordingly.
