Dr. Breuning is amazing! Her book helped me get over a deep depression after a nervous breakdown several years ago. It was not so much motivational as much as it helped me understand how my (the human) brain works and why I might feel the way I do from time to time. She explains the science articulately and gives informative examples to help the reader follow along. Thank you for this book! It helped me a great deal.

There have been studies in both rats and humans, and they produced figures in the range of 18 to 250 days to change habits (they were food studies). The conclusions from one pf the papers i read said that the period is very variable, but generally we should consider it to be on average a good bit greater than the old 21 day rule, with an average in the region of 60 days.

I just got her book and it sure explains a lot. Psychologically people are a disaster today and they want to let you know how miserable they are. The baby boomers partied too much 😢
Most people have terrible parents. I cannot tell you the hell I've been through in this life
