I’m 50yrs old and was starting to despair that there were no new artists playing real music that would interest me. Artists like Katie and a few others I’ve recently discovered restore my faith that the deep desire to create music and lyrics that are heartfelt isn’t going ANYWHERE. Cheers for that. So I'm listening to my Spotify Discover Weekly playlist while fully absorbed in some work. I notice the guitar intro and like it, and go on about my work. Then that wailing (3:00) pierces my world, grabs me by the ear like my Mom used to do, and says listen up Sonny, this song matters.
Beautiful, well crafted song....I'm hearing influences of Fleetwood mac, even Hayley Williams ?..but originally put together...great feel from the band.
Sounds alot like Glenfern by Kathleen Edwards, the vocals and song structure and the instrumentation, Telecaster guy playing the lead licks and Katie playing a Jazzmaster whereas Kathleen played a Jaguar. Don't know which came first, Expectations or Glenfern🤔 but hey it don't really matter, both awesome songs and performers for sure👍❤
