@@chupeauxx: Are you related to Frank, seeing that you share the same last name? And yes, I used to "hang" with Frank, as my friend and then roommate was Frank's bass player, who I saw many times. Amazing and fun times!
@@gregdanielson9086 Wow, you know Steve Kershisnik. You made my day with your little story. My nickname is Gambale 'cause I had a luck to figured out Frankie's playing, Bill Connors as well and that was "Whoah!" for the people from very poor country(still is) called Serbia. Actually, whole Balkan region is Europe's Middle East. Thank you, Greg, you're so kind. Long Live Fusion
@@chupeauxx: So you know Steve K? That's so cool. Yeah, he's a great friend of mine. I have not talked to him in awhile, but we still stay in touch. So you have a Gambale nickname? I trust you're doing his name justice? And yes, long live fusion. Blessings.
I remember years ago doing a jingle here in new york with tim landers( benny golson was the musical director, smitty smith was on drums ).. I met him that day.. his chart was black with notes.. he read it down like he was reading a newspaper... lol... the band did maybe 2 takes and that was it " thank you guys, see you later" ..everybody out ,bye...hahaha.. I don't think I've seen him since..
Yeah man ! This and some Leni Stern/Krantz Band footage is all that's on TH-cam of This Monster playing in a fusion setting.... MONSTER. I think he's not even old enough to drink in this footage !
I only got to know Chuck Loeb in the 2000’s because of his playing on Eddie Daniel’s albums. Such a tasteful and technically accomplished player. (See if you can find his trio track Let’s Play.) Impeccable use of tone also. Terrible shame he died prematurely. (I wonder if the keyboard play in this concert is Mitch Forman?)
this dude was a bad ass. would love to hear this same stuff played thru, say, a fender vibro king and vintage strat. guarantee the tone would be better.
First 2 minutes and 11 seconds: From the 16th-not triplet comping sound you can get out of a JC to a clean lead and to a saturated distortion. The ultimate wank fest. And someone still wonders why do people hate jazz? Is it the lack of vision, taste or a concept?
Lineup:
Chuck Loeb - guitar
Mitchel Forman - keyboards
Tim Landers - bass
Zach Danziger - drums
What a brilliant and versatile musician.
Rip my friend one of the greatest musicians
This is my first intro to Chuck OMG 😲 what a daring young man on guitar wow !!Fantastic
I love the chances he takes in his performance! RIP Chuck, you were one of the greats!

It's so frustrating when TH-cam or MI does not disclose who the other musicians are? They All deserve credit! Thanks. ;+)

Mitch Forman on keys, Tim Landers on bass, but I don't catch the name of the drummer.
Zach Danziger, at the time he was on the same spot has Vinnie Colaiuta. Incredible drummer at these times.
Yes, I catched him twice live with the Uri Caine Bedrock trio. Thank you!
The drummer is Zach Danziger.
when did this video taken??
Must have been 1990, as he mentions his "Life Colors" album from 1990 as his new album.

Actually this looks like a Pensa. He played Sadowskys more recently. See him with Fourplay in Tokyo 2013.
What year was this? I'm gonna guess '96 ish?

Oh, man, 1990!? Time flies faster than an arrow.
That's why they all look they just stepped out the '80's. Great playing nonetheless. Always enjoy hearing Zach on drums
