Jesus that was 3 games in a row of 'slam Reno, win game' here comes Highlander meta. Reno plus 29 random singletons is gonna be a tier 2 deck in every class.
I think New Reno would be a fine card if the removal effect were symmetrical. (And I suspect it was initially, because the card is named "Reno, Lone Ranger" and his voiceline says "Careful, it's against me!" and not "Careful, it's against my entire board!") So the opponent playing one minion to contest Reno himself would make sense as a "high noon showdown". As it is, it lets the Reno player clear the opponent's board while keeping their own, which (a) lets the Reno player swing for lethal with no possible counterplay, (b) devastates the opponent's tempo at zero cost to themselves, and (c) just doesn't make any sense and ruins the card from a flavor perspective. In conclusion, Blizzard plz nerf.

Obviously a player can board clear and heal first, but they'd have to do that much more aggressively because Reno completely invalidates Taunt & Deathrattle minions, which are designed to be anti-aggro protection tools.
I feel like Splish Splash Whelp is such a good opener that it may be possible that two copies might be run in the deck. You just hard mulligan for it and you will get one half of the time by turn 2 while you are much more likely to get on by turn 8 (where your highlander cards pay off)
Yeah but Reno is just that good to risk it not being active. Especially if you need Rhea to win, imagine holding her because the last ten cards have the whelp. When they nerf Reno maybe it'll be worth it to risk running to whelps.
Dude that warlock totally threw as the 10 mana ignus weapon with armor was certainly VERY strong and might have actually stabilized them enough to win but oh well.
haha yep innervate + hero power was definitely the right play there. when I saw that, the whole rest of the game flashed before my eyes. thankfully the opponent gave up, even though it looked like they might have had a chance there lol
Also, as much as I absolutely adore the idea of highlander decks, Reno is looking a little too toxic even for my liking. His ability to just absolutely rinse the enemies board instantly with 0 drawback is kinda absurd
For some reason I assumed Reno's effect left 1 of the opponent's minions on the board but I guess that was wrong lol. Very versatile card, both for pushing lethal and stabilising. I suppose cards like that are meant to be on the stronger end because of the singleton requirement? Maybe Druid just has 30 good cards that offset the downside of only running 1 copy of a card, the dragon package seems very good even by itself.
Not to mention how wild is going to be only highlander decks now, as you can easily craft an entire deck of 30 overpowered single cards, Zeph, Reno, another Reno, yet another Reno and so on
@@TrixyTrixterit's an insane card. I like the interactivity with that portal and other permanents. They currently have zero counterplay, but if you can put enough pressure on the Reno deck to force them to Reno before you summon your permanent you're still fine
Remember the old Mage Reno? 10 mana, removes ALL minions but not dormants etc. Get a crappy random spell per turn hero power that could lose you the game.
I hope this bullshit card gets nerfed to the ground, like give your dragons with charge +1 attack level of nerfed, Druidstone is the absolute worst type of hearthstone
