I learned more in this T&T vid than any of the others. I knew RHA was important, but I didn't I truly understand its importance until I watch this. Good stuff Arctic.
Been waiting for this topic for a while but well worth the wait. I'd love to see more of these detailed 1v1 breakdowns. They'd never get old. Thanks Arctic!
Amazing that after watching so many useful tips on youtube (including your own), you still manage to provide new and understandable insights.
Great breakdown!
Great vids, arctic. I dig the way you take the game seriously but always maintain your composure and a positive attitude. Thanks for the tips.
Thanks Artic! Your tips and tactics have really helped. Keep posting!
Beautiful, your timing and skills are insane as always arctic well done on this video here.
Long time i haven't been on this channel, great video Arctic as always :) Keep it up

Awesome video. Top quality for sure. Great job.
Best tip-giver on YT! So easy to understand you :)
Subbed, Good stuff bro, keep it coming!
I have never thought of that timing shot portion of this video!! I could use that ive got balls ill give it a shot thanks man. keep up the awesome work
Great to see some analysis of mistakes, I've been trying to do the same for my own deaths which I've found is helping me improve and you given me some ideas of additional factors to consider.
Definitely helped. You are by far my favorite Gears player.
Wow a perfect video, great job man!
Awesome, as always.
thanks for watching them man, appreciate it :)
Awesome man thanks :) I subbed, this is better than some of the main youtube gamers, its a joke that you arnt up there!!! keep it up xD
Thanks man, I get a nice chuckle out of that same thing :)
awesome man!
artic thanks to ur vids ur my favorite youtube commentator
thanks, appreciate the feedback!
Very nice video and description! I subbed... And btw, do u have videos of advanced moves o aiming about blindfiring with sniper?
Thanks for making all these videos im the kinda guy that hates doesnt get to play often but still despises losing and these really help
I've been playing alot less gears lately.. Better for my blood pressure lol.. BUT, i still check up on your vids frequently. Keep em comin Arctic!
as always, thanks for the help arctic. nothin like some good old fashioned advice. "you just gotta have some balls." very nice haha
Thanks good to hear it helped! :D
Thanks man, I appreciate it :)
this really helped thanks
nice job on the video
thanks Fossil, appreciate it :)
there's the Fletcher I know!! Welcome back :)
thank you!
welcome to the family, appreciate the feedback :)
thanks glad you enjoyed :)
thank you
LOVE U ARTIC!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, yeah it's pretty important to try to maintain your composure when you're full red. If I'm in "panic mode," which I try not to be as much as possible, I seem to be more prone to missing shots and making mistakes I wouldn't otherwise.
nice video
wow thanks!
Hey Arctic great video it was very helpful and easy to understand in some situations you mention very understandable really enjoy it ;). Can u do a video about improving your blindfire accuracy there are some cases that I got the advantage and loss cause I'm not really good at blinfire has u are. You can explain by saying practice with bots everyday do this do that I will really appreciated ;)
right on
thanks I'm still pumping out vids :)
the tips were decent, because they require us to be as good as you arctic lol...BUT i found the analysis of how you messed up to be very helpful. I think a lot of people know what to do, but its identifying the screw ups that allow us to really improve. good stuff as always!
that's the important thing to me, so whenever I see comments like these I get pumped to do more!
Great info! Is there any particular sensitivity you need your controller to be for a good wall bounce? I use 21 on all and was wondering if higher sensitivity would matter? Thanks!
I recommend playing with gore off too. It's a lot easier to see the "blood splatter" and make a judgment of how hurt they are. It also clears up your screen a little so you don't have as many distractions on screen. It's really useful in 1v1 situations.
i go on a rampage after watching your vids! pun intended.. good job man! and thanks!
it's a difficult blind fire from left-handed side, I always push those. Initially I was waiting for him to blindfire so I could do a timed push, like the example on Checkout. I just out-reacted him/her on that one though.
are you thinking about making a video on, team tactics like if you and your freinds have a mic and you can communicate some examples of how your team can work together to succeed?
xD Nice video though good tips!
Can you do a tips and tactics on when to switch weapons and when to hard aim, blind fire and pop shot?
Lol the learning curve is pretty intense, especially if you're trying to use the Multi-function buttons. It takes some getting used to, but give it a few weeks -- it's definitely not an overnight process.
welcome to the family and no I don't have anything on the sniper. I covered wallbouncing in a previous episode
Hey what's good Arctic. I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on certain weapons. Torque Bow & Digger perhaps? If you already have, I'm sorry. You have TONS of videos I haven't cycled through yet.
Good work teach fast weapon switching,
I think the hardest thing I do is video editing which isn't incredibly difficult but takes some time to learn. Setting up capture equipment is relatively easy.
It's typically a bit easier to hit players on the right side (near your gun) because you don't have to adjust across body for shots.
I'm pretty sure I answered that question. I don't hold the trigger because you need to time your shots to players movement. There's definitely not a difference in "strength" it could be faster but it's not a practical method to use.
Hey Arctic, I apologize for the unrelated comment but I'm having trouble with this. What program do you use to Livestream, and how do you get it?
hey arctic, great video as always
I just bought a razer onza, but now i can barely move while playing, i feel a bot is better than me lol
is this normal?
@arCtiCvBi ive asked this a long time ago never got answered i wanted to know when your in a shotty battle do you keep the trigger held or do you pump it? i find that pumping is obviously more accurate to place your next shot but when i hold it down i shoot alot faster an my shot seems stronger. what do you think? been wondering since gow1
@arCtiCvBi have you ever thought about using a keyboard an mouse? alot of people are impressed with the xim adapter thats out. Any thoughts? i would think aiming would be way easier. they even have preset conf for gow3 hipfire an ads shooting
Great video. I have a patience problem that probably looses me alot of 1v1s lol. im always the aggresser. My biggest problem is everyone always goes for right hand (which they should) an they will wait an wait an wait to get it an i get to impatient playing ring around an i try to fake them out an stop turn an go left hand. It surprises alot of people an i get the kill alot but against good players it doesnt work. I wish i could switch hands or at least the camera it would eliminate right hand
Higher Look sensitivity would make a difference at how fast you can turn to try an adjacent wall, so yeah it makes a difference.
Great video again. That roll to dodge the ink Is still sick to watch cos u know the other guy is like aw fuck. But when u were kantus on aftermath & u killed the anya at nades, if he was smart he would hav blind fired his shot b4 u could get into position to kill him but he didnt.
wot tv size do you think is best for playing on mate i use a 47 inch atm but find it hard 2 hit shots some times
it's always interesting reading these comments
yea, well friend finnaly told me cant switch while moving have to stop or roll but alot of us dont really know that, besides that great tutorials
yeah. My point exactly with snipe and torque.
But i can see the benefits of having gore off but personally, I prefer it on.
To each to his own I guess =)
For the dodge ink thing it really only works if you have a good connection cause I get stopped mid dodge which really sux
Flame grenades don't work the same as Ink. You have to anticipate the throw (for an Ink) and roll before it's close to hitting the ground, otherwise you'll get stuck in as you're pressing the roll, like it sucks you back in.
yea that wud be kinda kinda helpful
Agreed
i love gears but man it feels like its noting but rifles and hit box issues, i never get into shotgun battles like in gears 2, but when i do i land a perfect shot (hit fire/zoomed in) and sometimes they wont die like wtf?? DAMN YOU EPIC!!
but any way awesome vids man :D
What about the little dance the opponent does in front of a downed player? Remember the mantle tutorial when you missed the mantle? What's that specific dance called? I need to know...
the panic is my biggest weakness, ALWAYS when i shoot someone twice for example and they turn and shoot me to put me in full red.. 9 out of 10 times i can never get that last shot on him to down them, i always panic and either seem to miss all my shots or try to run away which ends up with me dying
the closest to that topic would be season one episode 18 discussing "sportsmanship"
is the season pass worth it in gears of war 3?
wooo
Ya lol I saw all the other ones. The best tutorial to this day is still the flick shot
Aside from the reload reset, you basically typed the exact same thing that I said, only in the competitive scene it's a bit different.
these are great tips and some really helpful information. Its just a shame that after someone has managed to implement them into their game that they might have to deal with connection and sponging issues :(. Still a great video though for those who don't need to worry about that much.
@tscstud11 I have all my settings settings set to 25 and it works very well for me. It's all What comfortable with.
I know the rolling past the ink one doesnt work for me cus it always manages to suck me into the ink mid roll. Also happens with flame grenades.
@valentijn1945 I'm hardly a super player myself (overall Verses K/D 1.1 with about 9000 kills), but I've improved it by 0.2 recently by analysing my deaths to work out what caused me to die then trying to avoid making the same mistake again.
I'd also recommend setting some people to play with, good communication is a vitally important in this game and if you are running solo its often hard to find anyone in a lobby willing to talk, but plug that headset in and you might find new friends... :)
I don't have that problem. Once the numbers pop up I know they're dead and I move on. I do seem to get a lot more clean shots with gore off. The only weird thing about it is sniping or getting headshots. I have a hard time knowing if I get a headshot with snipe or torque since they just flop over.
Oh by the way I have two TH-cam accounts, that's awesome you still remember my name
Since playing Gears 1, I have never seen anyone really do a melee to reload to melee action to signal a 1v1. Usually when someone wants to 1v1, they'd initiate the melee. If a player needs to fill up the clip, they'd most likely stay back and reload then melee. Melee = ready. If you're not ready, don't melee or else they'll go after you. Hope this makes sense.
Do you guys scrim anymore?
The most important thing when it comes to 1v1 scenarios: ALWAYS have an active.
Use active Retro if at all possible. Pick up every Ink grenade you see.
I feel like it's better for movement, I think it's more of a personal preference. It takes awhile to get used to, so if you're thinking about switching your game will suffer for a couple weeks.
I sometime have gore off so I can see the person. Seven tho u have to really pay attention when u hit them with your shots.
*spider senses are tingling*
