      @@bennym5244 That's a good description, and based on your "until you get in their way or have something they want" I have met quite a few of them. Perhaps they are quite common, just of course not to the evil extreme of Ted Bundy.

      Psychopathy/sociopathy isn't a mental illness as such its a neurological disorder and most people who have it also have had some sort of brain injury as a child.

    • @normancook965
      @normancook965 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@orestes1984 That is profound. So a psycho/sociopath could legitimately argue that their actions are the result of something inflicted upon themselves.

    • @orestes1984
      @orestes1984 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@normancook965 there are underlying dysfunctions in these people's brains. In fact so much so that psychiatry itself is thinking about moving sociopathy/psychopathy out of the mental illness category and more so associating with brain injuries/neurologcal conditions. There is something to be said that these people are created and that they don't even really have much of a choice in the worst case scenarios.
      Bundy is a bit of an enigma. Bundy had a choice not to be like the rest of his family, he just chose to dive into some dark fantasies he had rather than not.

    The trial in Florida was his swan song. Contrary to people’s assertions that he was desperate to worm his way out of trouble, there’s evidence provided by his defense attorney in Utah to support that he purposefully went to a state where he would face the death penalty and not life in prison if caught.
    The trial and his decision to defend himself was a way of demonstrating that he was more than competent, and in fact intelligent, sophisticated, eloquent, humorous, and not an ignorant dull minded killer. Whether people believed he was guilty or not, they had to be confronted with his apparent humanity and many “gifts”. I think winning the case was a vain hope far back in his mind, but showing people the caliber of person he was, was the ultimate goal, win or lose.

So desperate for another serial killer like this and so disappointed when someone isn't that narcissistic. Proof of what they say in We Need to Talk About Kevin where most people would be these monsters if they had any balls. They just don't. These are the real public heroes. People who don't give into this kind of narcissism don't discharge the public's sexual sadism quite as well. The average public is gnarlier than we think. If the judge and the officers were all women, this would have been much more interesting to see. This pos would be showing some emotion for sure.

      Reminds me of Fred Gwynne playing Judge Chamberlain Haller in the movie My Cousin Vinny. There is a particular scene when he asks him to repeat the word "youths". 😂
