I’ve lived in Great Bridge for over 50 years and learned of the battle in grade school. With that said, if you’re not a local ( within 15 miles), or if you don’t drive by the museum and stop in, almost no one knows of the battle. Nice to see the local history being shared, thanks.
Well done with this video!!! I had no idea about this battle. Thank you for bringing attention to it. Looks like a great little place to visit with some nice displays .
Thank you brother for bringing this to light in celebration of our heritage and culture.! I am a native opinion and my people came over here from the west country and Wales in the 1630s to Gloucester County down in Guinea neck. I had ancestors that fought under George Washington and with LightHorse Harry Lee.
Great video, if you ever come through the area again, there's another out-of-the-way spot over in Hampton at the Battle of Big Bethel. It has some claim to being the first real battle of the Civil War, depending on who you ask. Most of the area is underwater since they flooded it to make a reservoir after the war, but there is a marker and some other items still there.
Great job, also didn't know about this battle and i'am about an hour away from Concord so of course we know all about that battle , and old Deerfeild is right down the road so we have alot of history for King Philippe's War near me .
Tripping and falling down the rabbit hole of genealogy, Last week finding out that my way back when Uncle was Brigadier General William Skinner who fought in this battle.

The Jones' of Virginia may have left Virginia, but our blood is still there. I wouldn't be here if Virginia fell. Grateful for this video.

Great video. Unfortunately I can't find any books covering this battle. Any suggestions for further research?
Thanks! This has been my best source for info along with the American Battlefield Trust.
