  • Dr. Paul Casey, Ophthalmologist at Nevada Eye Care, An NVISION® Company, recently had the monovision LASIK procedure by NVISION surgeon and founder, Dr. Tom Tooma, to help free himself from relying on glasses. It's no wonder why NVISION is The Eye Doctors' #1 Choice!

I had Lasik monovision surgery 20 years ago here in Chicago, after wearing glasses for near-sightedness for decades.
Loved throwing away my glasses. The surgeon said that some did not tolerate monovision, and that it could be reversed if I did not like it. I'd had monovision contacts, so what the heck, I chose monovision Lasik
BUT I never got used to the 'unbalanced' vision: the reading eye was always slightly blurry... to be expected with monovision. Fast forward twenty years to last year when I had cataract surgery on this 'reading' eye. HALLELUIA finally had equal vision in both eyes. BUT since the reading eye was not used as much, it had become lazy and I'd developed a bit of 'lazy' drifting eye... which eventually went away now with some simple eye exercises.
Bottom line - I'd NEVER do monovision again... should have had it reversed but figured I'd get used to it.
Monovision REALLY screwed me up for my daily life with the blurry eye, just for the 'convenience' of not needing reading glasses. But even that benefit deteriorates with age. Just my two cents / experience.
