Probably one of the only brands that has a owner/CEO that actually is deeply involved with the sport and knows what riders want. Let’s look at reality almost ALL other brands are run by teams of clueless people that are trying to make a brand grow but don’t have experience on a mountain bikes nor are deeply involved with the sport. Pivot is another brand that has great leadership of real mountain bikers pulling the strings. I have these two brands only for my next purchase.
Stalking Commencal for a Birthday rig in April(ordering soon as many brands will be outta stock by April). Interested in the Meta AM 29, for Adirondack through Catskill riding. Plenty of downhilling, all-mountain, and XC trails. And Commencal is the only brand burly enough for my lengthy heavyweight 255 pound frame. Will optimize fork for a 29x2.8(more grip), and Cane Creek coil shock. It's a hefty investment. Don't have the luxury to purchase a new bike every year, let alone once every five years.
I have the same bike, different component specs. I've been riding it since I bought it new in 2020. I agree with everything but the jump capability. Do you have any recommendations for making it better to get off the ground? The rear end always feels extremely muted, and not lively. This obviously helps with the chunder, but I can't get the rear up in the air consistently.
1. Really well done video: music, commentary, footage. 2. You shred. 🙌 I have a META HT, my 4 yr old daughter has a Ramones balance bike, with a disc brake. Love everything Commencal. This or META TR will be my next bike. Sub'd. 💪💪
@@TopToBottomMTB I was thinking about a coil shock. It currently has the stock rockshox rear suspension. Was also thinking about a 30T oval chainring to help with the climbing. Have you ever wanted to change the seat post?
The D7 is a down-country bike with 120mm of travel and the meta is an enduro beast with 170mm and slack geometry… 2 totally different bikes! Are you gonna ride steep terrain?
@@TopToBottomMTB there are some steep trails for sure by me that I would love to try with the bike for sure. Otherwise a lot of climbs and some technical turns. Pretty steep declines for sure. Thanks for your insight and time. 🤙
I am trying to decide between meta TR and meta AM. What is the main difference and what would you recommend. I need uphill/ downhill ,not much jumping.
If you need uphill go with the TR… the AM will get you up there but it’s heavy. I went with the burlier bike because I didn’t want it to hold me up on big drops and jumps.
Thank you so much for your help and responding so quickly. Between these four which one would you choose as one all mountain bike: 1. Meta TR 2. Ibis ripmo af 3. Spectral AL 5 4. Polygon T8 Thank you again.
Mullet is great for smaller riders… 5’7” and shorter. It’s also a little more nimble in the tight trails. If you just want speed, dual 29s will be faster in a straight line. I think the SX is the best of both worlds… I like to play around on the bike and I’m not a racer, I think I’ll try the SX for my next bike. Don’t get me wrong, I love my AM, it’s just that the SX was not a thing when I bought this bike. Good luck deciding… either way you’re gonna get a super fun bike!🤘🏻
What’s up guys! Please subscribe if you’re into mountain biking! This is my first crack at a review… Go easy on me. Peace!

🤩 Nice to see someone with the same values… 👊🏻
Had a Meta last year, they are absolute beasts! Rides like a DH bike going down but still pedals really well.
What are you riding this year?

Awesome video ! Anyone know what engagement is on the formula hubs commencal uses ? Cheers
I’m about to build a meta am 29, starting from bare frame. Anything specific you would put on this bike after riding yours for so long?
Might wanna try a coil shock… lil bit heavier but…
@@TopToBottomMTB I was thinking about a coil shock. It currently has the stock rockshox rear suspension. Was also thinking about a 30T oval chainring to help with the climbing. Have you ever wanted to change the seat post?
Yep changed the 125mm to a OneUp 150 V2. Remember to look and see if you can use the same remote. I had to get a different one.
Been looking at this bike since seeing your videos, it’s been a toss up between this and the polygon ds7 any thoughts?

What size would you recommend. I am 5 feet 11 inches and I have long arms. Should I get xl or L ? I do like to have more room and longer reach.
@@adnanbrodlic7192 if you like a longer reach than go XL… I’m 5’9” and ride a medium but I could fit large…
