I haven't had a decent day to try out the 1866 CO2 yet. I want to see how it compares to the Legends CO2 rifle. They're almost identical in size, and claim identical performance. While Umarex and Crosman use identical shells, the Barra shells are slightly different, with a wider rim and a different taper to the tip of the shells. The Umarex and Crosman shells won't even feed into the Barra. The 1858 pistol is nearly identical to Crosman's new Fortify, but looks a hell of a lot better. The Barra also has much more power than the Crosman Fortify.
Thank you so much as always for your incredible knowledge and expertise. You should be the one hosting my videos, not me!! Very interesting indeed. This is the first time I shoot a gun of this kind and I completely fell in love with it. That ‘click clack’ followed by flying shells… just awesome! (Sadly this is by far my worst performing video, so I guess not many share my newly discovered love) Anyway, as always thanks for the input!!
@@AirgunAlley If I was hosting your channel, it would be unique on TH-cam as having less than zero subscribers and views. They'd go beyond demonitizing the channel, and charge me $800 per month just to keep my videos on their servers! Seriously, though, I actually ran a channel on here like 15 years ago... way back in the day. Never did much, but I had a couple videos that did pretty well. Been considering trying to do some videos. Just retired (I was kind of forced into it, long story), so I actually might find time for it. For the past several years, I've been working 12 to 16 hours, nearly every day. Try doing anything with a schedule like that!
Great video! I'm really into replicas of historic firearms, love the 1866 'Golden Boy'! This one looks pretty amazing, very realistic; with actual wooden stocks It would be almost perfect. Hope you and your family had a very merry Christmas, Gian!
Thank you so much Luiz and same to you and your family!! Oh I would love to do more and more (quality) replicas. I’m also a huge history lover and these just take me back to those eras. As always, thank you my friend!!
I like how your going more over into the Historic, sportsman, fun loving side of this hobby. I was Thinking John Wayne/ Liberty Valance when I first seen the rifle. Yes 1883 is a great show. Love how these more safe hobbyists arms are becoming more accurate too.
Thank you so much! Oh man, that would be a dream come true, just shoot and review replicas all the time! I’m such a history lover… seems like we’re on the same page my friend
Great video! That rifle is beautiful. Love the 1858 platform as well. I own three different models of actual 1858's. Uberti and 2 Pietta's. Great Italian replicas. Gonna have to get that bb gun for fun.
Great video as always. I had the Umarex version of this rifle some years ago. Very fun to shoot with and looks super cool😎. Keep up the good work. Cheers from your friend in Norway 😃🤠
Oh man that cool weather came and went! But it was nice. As always you nailed it. I really recommend this gun to anyone looking for fun plinking with some click clack and flying shells!
Alright mate 👍 hope you have had a good Xmas . Loving the lever action especially with the shells popping out . Stands out from the rest .as always keep up the good work 👍
Merry Christmas to you too mate and hope you’ll have a fun NYE!! This gun is very, very fun and something that you can own too! One day… maybe next Christmas ;) Thank you Stuart!
love the rifle the most , you should ask them about their semi/fully bb gun they got also ! .it was an old idea of mine many many years ago , i was fascinated with airsofrt and games long ago and dreamed about having one that shot steel bb's lol !!!
They are Good Looking and I am sure that you will Years of Fun with them. If I am Not mistaken...I think that same Company makes a Glock Style Pistol with a Select-Fire Switch that gives you the options of Full Auto and Semi Auto.
Howdy, Miami Cowboy. Looks like Barra has upped things a notch. Their previous model had a plastic receiver, if my memory serves me correctly. Hopefully their next version will come with a wooden stock. All-in-all, it looks very authentic. A fun to shoot plinker, with some power behind it. It's a matter of time before you become accurate with it, although, it was kinda accurate on the watermelon. I'm hoping that someone will come out with a replica of the Shiloh Sharps 1874 rifle that Tome Sellek used in "Quigley Down Under." I think it was also used in Robert Duvall's "Lonesome dove." Two great westerns. I'm a big fan of westerns. I'm hoping that Hollyweird will come out with a truly authentic western. The closest one for me is Tombstone with Kurt Russel who played Wyett Earp. Love the variety you are using. I guess your wife is getting tired of replacing her stainless-steel pans, so it's come down to "hands off." 😂. Great video.
Oh man! If only I could just film airgun versions of Westerns, I’d be so happy. Put me, myself and my replicas in the Everglades and I’ll come up with a movie a week 😂 And spot on my friend! The watermelon I shot with the red dot. Even the cans. That’s why :)
What a great idea. I’m with you with your western video idea. If only I was out there, you and I could clean up the Everglades of all the outlaw gators. 😂
Are you Sure the receiver is some kind of Metal, Not plastic ? i hope its not a rip off FOR $250 bucks retail . i got mine for deep discount TROUGH LUCK but i'm a little worried , the pump one i returned wasn't worth $4.99 including sales tax
ON the 1866 rifle you were only pumping once so you got mid 400's fps ...you can pump it with lever 1-10 times for 800+ fps. you didn't read the instructions haha 🤣😂😅 that would be interesting to see gains for extra lever pumps !!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Tom! Thanks for watching my videos today! So this one is a CO2 version. Brand new. Not the pump version :) But you are right, in the pump version - the more you pump (max 10) the more power you get… Happy New Year!!
Good point! People really need to pay attention and make sure they’re getting the Co2 version. (Also very different in price, that should help ring a bell haha)
seem some confusion, Barra recently made an upgrade version that loads on receiver with shells not bb's just dumped in up to 50 bb's contained in previous version. i ordered one, getting soon so i hope its new version, it says it uses pellets and bb;s so i figure it will be like yours, i will poop in my pants if its not !
Thanks for the reply thinking on getting one when available in the UK what ft lbs is yours putting out? Thinking on getting a 22 version but just as a rough guide.btw your videos are great
i ordered one, hope it is like yours with side loading or i will poop in my pants if its old model, description... Barra Airguns 1866 Cowboy 0.177 Lever Action BB or Pellet Air Rifle
you sure gave everyone a bum steer on the Bara toy guns, what junk !!!! absolutely $5.00 toy junk, immediately sent back, shoulda took a big crap in the box 💩💩 !!!!!!!!!!!😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
yup, way they write sounds same for both, too much plastic either way. i like the few 1to1 3-500 fps ones i have but what i cherish is my colts 357's 44 cal beats me up....
model 29 SW AND Baretta 92fs both crono at mid 400fps, are the best weight and hard to tell from real, .177 7- 8.9 grain on a warm day is great training tools for muscle strength , control and memory
Ok so you got the wrong gun. You were expecting the one I show in the video, instead you got the “cheap” version. Again, they are very different. So no need to poop in the box
sorry, love your program, you are so creative and work hard ! i returned the 1866 cheapy and ordered the right one like yours , ordered on amazon/ i know its still a toy but what the heck.

So is the brass actually brass or plastic?
I don’t know exactly what metal it is, but it’s def metal and not plastic. The only plastic parts are the “wooden” stock and grip
