I recommed 80% semitransparent box of info next to the head. Faster animations revealing the words or place some form of score next to them (can be generic like colors)
Jon from JonGetsGames does an amazing job of incorporating this type of thing without it being a distraction. Would recommend looking at what Jon has done. I like what you guys are doing, so keep it up. Think there should eventually be some kind of Dice Tower scale so that these categories are somewhat measureable from game to game instead of "very nice" or "good". (even if it's a red dice tower for LOW, yellow for MEDIUM, green for HIGH). I dunno... just throwing out ideas y'all!
loving the new TARGET system. loving also the feedback here in the comments to make it more integrated with you :D glad you dug the game cause i sure did!
Thank you for the review. Production quality was excellent, and your explanations were clear. The targeted summary at the end was very good. One note: it felt in the early parts that we did not have good info about what was going on - for example, were the tokens used up each round, or did they reset? When does you turn end? Can the players interfere with each other, or are they isolated etc. Just felt a few things were missing in a greater context. These are minor points however, still a good review. Thank you for sharing.
It finally came out in stores. After playing it, this is probably going to be my personal game of the year. Super puzzly... Each actions offers 3 or 4 scoring opporunities, some short term, others long term. In the same category of puzzle games like Five Tribes amd Yamatai in that aspect, which is my favorite genre.
(1) The art is absolutely stunning. (2) I'm excited about the short game length mixed with a serious about of replayability - so many games just do one or the other.
The notes are a great idea (a la Dan King's reviews); perhaps they could look a little less...minimal? Great work as always Zee! Really looking forward to this game.
Mike Stein The area control is essential. It's that extra layer that makes this game stand out from the rest. It would get real old real fast otherwise.
Well, it's quick until you play with someon who takes 5+ minutes per turn due to AP. Other than that, I like the play but the two-piece player board seems pointless overall, since the only thing you get out of it is a different mix of names of your corporation without any bonus abilities for that corporation. Love the dice and how the cards influence them and reward you though.
I did a demo of this at origins and I think it is well made but really boring. It just felt like I was just doing math problems the whole time. I loved the art and dice (that's what drew me to the game).
Eyal Itsik Dunno how you can compare the two as they are nothing alike. There's drafting cards and dice manipulation in both, but this would be like saying Monopoly can compare to Clue because both have roll and move. I really like Biblios, and i love Sentient. Biblios is taken out late evenings since it does not require much brain-power, while Sentient requires you to really not be tired and be in the mood for a brainy puzzle.
The theme of this game is one of the weakest I’ve ever experienced. It’s an abstract logic/math game with pretty pictures. It scores high everywhere else though. This game is ultra quick to teach and has enormous depth. They may consider redoing this game with mechanisms that connect to the theme. The disconnect from the theme, however, is what likely gives the game such depth and ease of play. This belongs in a library for games new to Boardgames that are extremely fast to teach, such as Quadropolis, Smash Up, and Azul.
Was very keen to see what you thought Zee. I was not disappointed!
What did you think about it, Rodney?
I'll leave the reviewing to Zee.
Rodney ... and Zee ... are class acts!
I really (REALLY) like the TARGET categories at the end! I hope they become a standard in Zee's reviews.
I liked how you did the overview at the end with notes.
I recommed 80% semitransparent box of info next to the head. Faster animations revealing the words or place some form of score next to them (can be generic like colors)
Agreed. And some way the text can show more of a pro/con but still keep the acronym. However, great new feature. I like it.

I was thinking of Jon Gets Games when I made my comment but also Dan King started doing this as well Pro/Con (Game Boy Geek).

Zee, I love the TARGET portion of your review. And I love Sentient! Thank for this review!
Really enjoying your videos, feels like chatting about games with my buddies. Nice touch with the notes, will keep an eye on this one.
Ooof, that side window is a great idea but 100% opaque white with black text is probably the worst implementation of it.
Thank you for the review. Production quality was excellent, and your explanations were clear.

The art is fantastic. The box cover itself is especially stunning.

This looks to play much faster then I initially though. Thanks for the review!
Just played my first full game last night, definitely a good time! Glad we snagged a copy at Gen Con!
The notes are a great idea (a la Dan King's reviews); perhaps they could look a little less...minimal? Great work as always Zee! Really looking forward to this game.
Yuck. Was bummed when Dan King started doing this style of conclusion, and now I am super bummed that Zee is doing it as well.
So, what do those assistants do? I guess they add to the influence.
Looks great but the area control part seems unnecessary.

Awesome review - thanks, Zee.
looks neat Zee! thanks for sharing
Great idea the target categories
Maybe the dice are the robots your programing?

Never played it, but I agree with this from looking at this review. Doesn't feel like it's a "game" for me.
Zee, how would you compare this to Biblios?
Eyal Itsik it feels deeper than biblios

Just managed to get this for 10€ :D
Boy do I love Renegade games but this title just doesn't work for me. Glad to see it getting good buzz though!

Splendor is one of the worst games I have ever played. I like the games in your pile to the left of it though.
Not a fan of the "outline" of notes. Vastly prefer the old, natural style of discussion as opposed to running down a bullet point list of topics.
Both methods are functional, but I agree-I prefer the old style as well.
