  • The Federal Transport Department is meeting daily with grounded airline Regional Express as the government assesses whether to “bail out” the airline or not, says Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood.
“Sam Freeman - one of EY’s administrators working with REX - told AAP the government is clear that it would only financially support the beleaguered airline, so long as it priorities critical regional flights,” Mr Greenwood said.
“EY says the administration program will likely take five weeks, and that a number of interested parties have already come forward to buy the airline - one of them from within the aviation industry.”

So many jobs rely on this airline, both within and without the industry.
