Yeah I don't like the spiral twists on any tree. Some movement can be fine. I'd love to see how the tree looks in 10 years to see if the twists are a good idea or not.
I actually haven't worked with them - so I'm not sure. I do see them as street trees in CA - I would imagine they are very similar to the Japanese hornbeam - they are larger leaf than Korean.
Just discovered your videos. Some of the best Bo said videos I’ve ever seen. Thanks.
Really interesting comparison between Japanese and Korean hornbeams. Also great repotting tips for young material - much appreciated!
Very interesting and informative, thank you very much! I love the way you show us the root work!

Lovely trees, thanks
I enjoyed the video, could you please tell me what growing medium you are using?
He usually uses 90% perline with 10% organics, cocochoir I think. For trees in development.
@@Yurup Thank you.
Where do you get wire that thick yet super pliable
It's aluminum. Available on most bonsai stores online.
Could the branch you cut off be used as a cutting?
I have so far not been able to root any tree in the carpinus genus. I believe air layers would work.
I don´t see the point of these twists on deciduous trees, but that´s just my taste...😊
