India for me was equal parts amazing and challenging. The markets are crazy, the traffic is chaotic, the food is freaking great, the history is a walk through time. Get to India, and you will wonder why you haven't gone so much sooner.

The food of India, the desert food,I remember it was so strange,but it was fresh and good,actually,no gmo's or any other shit,all grown on gwano ,I have a dish of nan and some 4 different pastes-beans and some stuff,-delicious.India is fantastic place,-the dessert region, and the people are nice too. Sucks you can see the govt corruption at the lowest levels, you know India has the money to pick up garbage and pave roads but they cant even do that in the smallest of towns. I hope India can treat its people much better by giving them the lowest of comforts like trash free streets and paved roads sad they cant even do that.. The people are the heart and soul of that nation and deserve better!!

Keep in mind this was during the camel fair which only happens once a year around early November. But Pushkar is still definitely worth visiting at other times of year.
You need to do road trip to Udaipur via Kota, bundi. You will definitely enjoy bundi and Kota . Especially Kota it's not so famous among travellers but it's damn beautiful .
Gabriel....visit the Government Camel sanctuary in Bikaner to see thousands of camels of different varieties.. ny wyz,liked ur videos as always. good luck mate
I went to the Bikaner camel festival a few years ago, it was really cool. It was in the dunes outside of the city and they were racing camels and horses. I liked it better than the Pushkar camel fair actually, it was less crowded and chaotic and a nicer setting.
@Keith, India is such a diverse country...each state has its own clothes style, food etc...The traditional turbans you saw men wearing can be usually seen in two states of India (Gujarat & Rajasthan) where you still see old village men and men from certain community wear those traditional turbans. Also you might be interested in googling up "sikh turban" which is another turban worn by men who follow the Sikh religion.
I don't think they were Sikhs, Sikhs have a different style and also live in a different region. I don't think this is the sort of event Sikhs would generally go to, way out of their home territory. Not sure though.
Speaking of turbans...on every year during the Pushkar fair the fair organizers hold turban tying event where tourists (mainly from the western countries) participate in the event where ladies tie turban to their male companions. Also it is not common for some tourist ladies to wear turban for a fashion statement or they just want to see try it for a while...Indians are very liberal about it and will not judge or cause a scene if ladies wear men clothing. I even saw one lady with a turban in this video.

people visit there for tourism only.. it is other thing that the mainland Indian people are afraid and prefer to go to Agra and rajasthan and maybe the most shimla and uptil Goa in south. there are lots of travel blogs where u can see about the northeast states. it's a place very few people have been and it's much more reasonable and friendly then other parts of India .moreover this are Christian state and there are winter state festival like hornbill and Shanghai festival that are held in a big way.

Fair question. It's not homosexuality, just a friendship thing, common to see in India. Definitely takes a little getting used to. Strangely, men and women aren't supposed to be openly affectionate in public, but the same sexes can be.
@Victor, it's not a gay thing in that part of the world to see two guys holding hands in public. Some guys like to hold hands to show the brotherhood/ friendship thing but you will see that very little.
In India friends normally roam by holding hands or putting hands on each other shoulder . That not mean they are gay. Basically it shows they are good friends or to show brotherly gesture.

The men holding hands is a bit odd for us from the west, but it's pretty normal in India. It's just a friendship thing, homosexuality in India is discouraged in the extreme. The rituals there were part of the fair so I don't think those same ones are performed every day. Some of them, like the aarti ceremony on the Ganges river in Rishikesh do happen every day.
Your immune system must've adapted to the microbes and bacteria from going so much. I'm always wary about people who serve food with no gloves I wonder where there hands have been but its seems you even overcame that. They can bathe in the Ganges/Yumani river and come out unscathed including yourself. Its impressive.

Believe me, this video does not do Pushkar justice at all. It is a beautiful place. Have a look at videos other people have made of their visits to places in India. (I recommend that you look at those on the channel 'Track Jack'.) Please don't be put off going to India. There is nowhere else like it on earth. And it is anything but desolate. I wasn't that taken by New Delhi, but everywhere in Rajasthan stole my heart. And most people who go there feel the same.
No, there IS no comparison. I have been to Pushkar, and it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. You don't really see that in this video, but it is a wonderful place, I can assure you. (Have a look at some other videos of Pushkar and you will see that.) I have travelled in 13 different countries across three continents, and Rajasthan was the most amazing, vibrant and mesmeric place I have ever been. It captured my heart in a way that I would find difficult to put into words, and it affects most of the people who go there in the same way. By contrast, I have been to Scandanavian countries where I never saw a piece of litter, and everything worked like clockwork, but they were rather dull places.
