Skateboarding in middle age has a tendency to make you philosophical about youth, life; and death. Grosso got it and articulated it better than any of us ever could. Thank you for putting this out. Grosso forever.
It's definitely an activity that requires constant analysis and problem solving which I think was what made me able to approach the art and philosophic side of life.
I had that mentality as a kid, now its such a part of me I've realized all these years its kept me from hating my life, punk rock and fucking skateboarding

100% 48 here. Still ride (largely alone since 99% of my crew have moved away or just don’t think skating anymore) but sessioned my first half pipe in 15 years the other night. I started out terrified but slowly things started coming back. It was awesome too as everyone in the group was 40+ and bringing that old drive back from the dead. I only knew 2 guys there but it quickly felt like I knew every one of them my entire life. I almost got emotional on my drive home. I haven’t felt that stoke for so long. Not just because stuff was coming back but because it was coming back for everyone. We were all stoked for everyone as each of us progressed into our former selves. It is my personal heaven. Shows like the Love Letters kept those old days alive for me. I will forever be a skater and the brotherhood that develops is like nothing else. For real.
Please, Vans, please continue the show. There are a lot of guys/girls out there that truly appreciate this stuff.

Jeff made us realize that skateboarding is much more than something you do as kid. It’s something you do for the rest of your life. Thank you Jeff for opening a lot of eyes including mine on why skateboarding is the best thing you can ever do. Aloha friend.

Jeff would be the first person to tell anyone not to follow his example, don't be a follower, do your own thing. He especially would not want anyone to worship him, act like him or try to be like him. Just be yourself and enjoy (your) life to the fullest.
If you love skateboarding, express yourself how you want, even though he admits he was very critical of others during his youth, "a walking contradiction."
Atleast he had the courage and wisdom to acknowledge and admit when he was wrong.

I am so thankful that I got to meet Jeff and spend some time with him aswell as the Anti hero dudes when they were on tour here in New Zealand’ I got a smoke of Jeff even tho I had given up I just wanted to share something with him even tho I had shred something with him all these years and that is skateboarding’ I put the smoke out half way through smoking it and kept it and went halves in a cigarette with frank Grewer’ I still have the half cigarette that Jeff gave me’ it means so much to me as even tho he said to me ah it’s just a cigarette or it’s just cancer it’s more than that to me because he gave it to me’ thanks for everything u have done for all of us skateboarders Jeff’ u are one of the most raddest people in skateboarding’ Grosso Forever 🤘🛹🤘

growing up watching these guys skate.. rob, lance ,tony, Lucero, Kendall, Groosso , and so on..back then it was so easy, life was fun, skate til its dark out side and do it again the next day. watching Jeff loveletters made me remember what it was like. I miss Grosso and Loveletters more than I ever thought I would. I am 47 rarely skate now and watch more auto on TH-cam than skate but I always got excited to see a new LL on my recomend. Jesus what a beautifully flawed honest human. Love you Grosso.
when i first started watching love letters i had no idea who grosso was, i just knew that i believed every word he said, every word spoken with honesty and emotion. Since then grosso has become one of the most inflential people towards my skating, GROSSO FOREVER and tuck that fuckin knee!!!

I thought this video was going to leave me with eyes full of tears but somehow it didn't. I feel like I'm ready to go climb up a mountain while fighting Mike Tyson.. That man lived! He lived more lives and did more cool things than most of us could even fathom fitting into such a short span of time. Maybe it is not this way for all people or maybe I'm just an over sentimental fool but I would like to think that we can all take the small pieces of Jeff that he put out into the world and turn them into sparks that ignite a raging passion not just for skating but anything that someone cares enough about to get up everyday and do. Granted I never met the guy but I feel like that's how he would want it
