I’ve been using Depends underwear plus a pad for day time use post prostectomy ..it makes changing when I’m out in public easier since I don’t have to disrobe .. can lower my pants and change pads..adds to the expense but worth it.

As a man idk anything about this stuff but I'm 26 and have to take care of my mom whos 62 but has alot of health issues and peeing is one of the things she lost control over. Ive suggested the "diaper " and try to explain how that will probably be the best but no adult wants to have to wear diapers. But hopefully this video will open her mind to them because she has "full flow " and I'm just learning about this and just being told about her problem . And she told me most of her pads she used "bandaid" is the term we use which means over soaks and goes threw the pad and underwear and pants. Which she says happens multiple times a day. So I know the "absorbing adult underwear " would be best for her. But for now she's getting mad at the idea every time I bring it up. Right now she's using moderate level poise pads her aid got her and she says they are better then the dollar store ones shes used to (my mom tried to get everything from the dollar store even tho I'm willing to buy her whatever she needs and get her the best of the best when it comes to anything but she's just used to living on a budget and not having much . Now I take care of my mom and I will get her anything she needs to be comfortable. But anyways. I just want to thank you so much for the video. Their isn't any other video I could find that was this helpful. I'm going to show my mother this video after this comment and hopefully open her mind to the diapers cuz she's "full flowing" more and more often. You might try just buying mom a pack of the adult diapers and just leave them in her bathroom, saying nothing about them. She may decide to try them on her own. To you from another 62 year old mom, I thank you for taking care of your mom. Best of luck
I’ve seen many elderly people use pads as an adult diaper. Majority of them specifically ask for a night time pad. This was back when I helped with pantries and we had no adult diapers in stock to give away for free. The call for donating adult diapers eventually came in 2021. I did see elderly men happy to see pads as they would use it as a diaper.
Thank you. My leakage was horrendous when I placed pressure on the diaper to stand up. Please remember when testing ....... the diaper does not just lie there with no weight or pressure.
I agree with you. And all reviews show the liquid being poured gently along the length of the pad but when we pee it comes out in one spot and has to absorb to other areas. I recently used a *Because pad and the urine pooled in the front half of the pad but never absorbed towards the back and then it overflowed and I had to change. Thank God I made it into the house and wasn't out in public. 👀

The only reason it's a super touchy subject is because people won't talk about it. Just like women's periods use to be taboo to talk about until Young women started talking about it on TH-cam.

Honestly, I use the Tena night time pads to sleep in, when I'm on my period, because then I don't leak on my sheets. Night time period pads never seem to be able to catch everything.

due to a neurological condition ive developed incontinence over the last fe months, now i have very severe/total incontinent and absolutely no control and i’m going to start using large pads with the fit pants to hold them in place as my current incontinent pads arent cutting it anymore, i’m 17 and found it so embarrassing at first but now i don’t care because it helps me live my life and i can’t control it 💞

I buy cheap, usually store brand, sandwich bags with zip-loc closures to dispose of used guards in a small can in my bedroom. They keep the odor locked away until I dispose of them in the outside trash can. I am a male and use guards, so this won't work for large pads or underwear.
Excellent information, one thing I have noticed in Australia is that mens public toilets do not have disposal receptacles for these, I can't speak for the US, my partners father finds this to be a big problem.
I always thought about this too when I would walk by the aisle that has incontinence products. There really needs to be a trash can in men’s stalls, not just for trans men that have periods but for men who need these products.
Before this, I used to wear a familiar pad, I didn't know the existence of incontinence products. I just knew Poise but after watch this in the next time I will try another products

How do you know if you have OAB? specifically urge incontinence or stress. i love in the south west so im always drinking something to stay hydrated and i thought that would be it but i really noticed the importance of timing about 6 years ago. i was in a car accident 6 years ago and while i didnt have nerve damage or anything i did shatter my ankle and ive never been able to walk the same since. i can walk but im a lot slower. and at times if im somewhere in public i get the sudden urge to go and always cant make it to the Loo. are diapers recommended for that or would i need to be prescribed by a Dr? logic says just wear one but i dont know if theres another way to address it. thanks and i hope to hear back. thanks
I personally liked the Attends Discreet and Because pads since they worked much better than Poise. Now that I have to take bladder meds and wear pull-ups, my insurance gives me the Prevail women's underwear, which are useless without a booster. I also buy the Because overnight underwear and they work so much better than traditional diapers in my experience.
Tena Night Super pads hold even much more. Easily at least two full voids. Very good to use for travelling or when not possible to get to toilet in long time

I wear Tena slip maxi when i sleep because i'm still bedwetter 😢 I am a boy no medicine work i think this is my biggest shame in my life i wear diapers when i sleep even if it's called incontinence brief i'm smart enough to know it's just diapers! I intend to make a few more international plane trips, if possible. My incontinence is Whenever I get up from a sitting position, my brain has trained me to rush to the bathroom and empty my bladder within 10-15 seconds, even if there is only a 1 or 2 oz. dribble. to 5-6 ounces I can just see myself on the plane waiting in a line for an open bathroom, maybe 30 times in a 19 hour trip to India. I am sure there are millions of other men with the same problem, but no one addresses it. I think my sphincter muscles are slow opening and slow closing in my old age. But with more urine in my bladder, my urine flow is just fine. But when I stand up, I can feel the urine dump into my prostate and the lower sphincter muscle is holding it for dear life. Might you find some solutions? Greatly appreciate it!
A bladder with a volume of 600 ml? Mine was measured barely 100 ml because due to my incontinence it is unable to stretch. I can leak even just after half a hour after voiding.
I'm 45 years old and my doctor told me i have urge and stress incontinence caused by being on antidepressants and taking pills for anxiety plus i'm perimenopausal. Instead of proscribing me to wear diapers she put me on pills for my bladder that has bad side effects. I'm too embarrassed to ask her to give me a prescription to get diapers because i rather wear diapers instead of taking pills witch has bad side effects. So how can i get over my embarrassment and ask her to prescribe me diapers?
you need no script to buy them and in the US most insurance wont pay for them unless you are in hospice or a home. Then if they do it is cheap horrible versions that are not the best

Hey Rena, I've been watching your videos for a while now and find them very informative and useful so thank you for making them. Could I make topic request for a video on condoms please. I only request this because it took me 20 years to find a condom I like. I started out with latex, which i'm not allergic to, but found i couldn't maintain an erection or ejaculate with. I then went through a phase of not using them, which you don't have to be a doctor to know isn't very good practice. I then discovered thin condoms made from polyisoprene which are great, but the standard size was a little snug so since I found the larger ones I've been very happy. If you do a video on this you could discus the different materials, sizing (link you does size matter vid for stats), and lubes you can and cant use (link your lube vid) you could also talk about female condoms and of course health risks. hi doc maybe you can cover this topic: if a middle aged guy has trouble getting and/or keeping an erection takes male performance enhancing pill which has the effect of opening or widening the blood vessels and this temporarily solves the mans erection problem for like one day, we can conclude that the cause of his ED is blood flow right? so if blood flow is the problem, is there a more permanent treatment to solve the blood flow problem(invasive/non invasive) so a man doesnt have to keep taking these "blood flow improving/blood vessel widening" pills?....
Lots of things including Low T can cause it. Just tell your doctor and get it checked out. They are professional. I have to take testosterone injections 2 times a month and I feel better all around after getting it back up
Interesting but you test tge products like someone who has never hadvan incontinence accident. The flow of urine can be too fast for the absorbant core. And you drizzles iy back snd forth... yoyr body doesn't do that it will only fill the padd from on spot. So it would be more informative to pour only in one spot consistently for the anatomy area.. also lets not for get gravity from tge position. 😊
I'm amazed at how little advancement has taken place in this field. Male genitalia tends to move around during the course of a normal day which means the pads aren't always in the optimal position for maximum absorption. This usually leads to leaking. The diapers are made of flimsy material that ofter tears even when putting them on. I would think something like a cup would be a much better solution, especially for men who have active lifestyles.
Being a man I am sorry but watching all the tv ads I just think women should wear nappies. It also makes me think when I meet a girl if she has pissy pants.
