@@PerspectiveEnd well…mostly that they’ve done Scoop, Spinister, Needlenose, and Quake already. It’d be odd if they didn’t do all of the double targetmasters, especially when they’re running out of G1 characters to do.
Hasbro QC has been steadily driving me insane the past few years. It’s gotten to the point where I try to only order through Amazon so I can always get a return/replacement copy
In all honesty quake is one of my favorite figures of legacy. I don’t know why some of the most hated figures in the line are my favorites (blitzwing, quake+skullgrin, and shadow striker). It’s the weirdest feeling to like the worst of the bunch. The QC does horrendous for the line but I fortunately lucked out with quake and my armada Starscream (no loose legs fortunately). Though I may have a thing for tankformers in general since my top three are blitzwing, armada Megatron and quake oddly enough. With legacee in close 4th. What a weird time to be alive.
Tbh the mold could've easily worked for a inner robot body for Bludgeon. A new head and chest and you have that figure. Last time we sorta got an update of that was the Onslaught retool from Combiner Wars which is....okay, I guess? I do agree the combination of his skeletal Pretender shell and robot mode is cool, but it would be nice to see the inner robot mode getting a new update.
Perspective, I still have my Discord. It's safe now. I like to think of this Quake as a fast tank like Hardhead (Hardhead's top speed is 155 mph). Except even faster because the alt mode's more like a hot rod with an engine as big as every other part combined. It's pretty much a tank designed by 40K Orks. It's even got a lot of red. I love the tank mode because it's a funny junkyard hot rod. I love Legacy Sandstorm's car mode for the same reason. But Legacy Quake's robot mode is very weak. The details aren't there at all, and the blue isn't dark enough. It doesn't really feel like Quake. I wish Legacy Quake followed the G1 toy's kibble layout. But not exactly. So the arms would be most of the tank turret, but to avoid partsforming, the top of the turret is tabbed into the back and has double hinges so the arms can go under it and form the thickness of the turret. How do I have better ideas than Hasbro? Do you think I can design good third party figures? Like, Legends scale with Deluxe/Voyager complexity. Around MP Soundwave and Siege Optimus.
Good. But why would this tank mode be so fast? I don't know that this really looks like a Junkyard vehicle, just a mistake. I mean they were never going to be able to do that with a retool. That's one of the main issues... No that's THE main issue, this needed to not be a Retool to be good. At least not a Retool of this figure. I mean I think you sure have the creativity to do so.
i feel like this wouldve been 1000 times better if they just made a new mold, also there are real tanks that look kinda like that, if they changed the turret it would look like one of those however they just took a random tank turret and slapped it on.
hey perspective i remember you saying that kingdom warpath was a big modern deluxe class figure, but how did you reach this conclusion when i look at him hes one of the smallest that i own and i own a lot of deluxes
Honestly, I think Quake embodies the worst of Legacy, Evolution and United- a nothing character who eats up a slot that could’ve gone to a more deserving character (Windcharger? A better Trailbreaker? A better Tracks? TFP Smokescreen? TFP Soundwave? Heck, even Animated Cliffjumper from Animated BB?) and is denied an accurate figure because Hasbro’s suits want every other figure to be a retool that ends up with sloppy QC and a messy transformation. I was genuinely happy when I found out John Warden was returning to the brand because say what you will about Power of the Primes, Earthrise and Kingdom, at least he was able to keep the designers focused enough to get teams finished. At least the toys were somewhat consistent. At least they were fun. Admittedly, I’ve enjoyed Legacy/Evolution/United, but that’s mainly because I went after those figures I knew would be the best. Hopefully whatever influence Warden had over the brand from the last six months is able to make a turnaround happen for Age of the Primes. If we have another year of QC nightmares, it might be curtains for Generations.
Oh holy crap. Yeah how have they not done someone like Windcharger yet, but no they blow the Retooling budget on something like this, when they could have changed Impactor like 0% and make this. I think John Warden is way over hated, under him some of my favorite figures of all time were made, so it's a real bummer that he was fired shortly after. I think the problem with legacy, is that I enjoy parts of it. But the whole line in just so uneven.
I knew you would eat this guy alive! 🤣🤣🤣 For Legacy Armada Megatron, if you want a toy with Gimmicks buy the original! The Legacy one is a great update, but I must admit, I wanted the minicon on it. I hope Hasbro would give us a set of minicons for all the ones they owe us.
I haven’t been super inspired by most of the modern Transformers so I went back and got ER Road Rage since Dr.Lockdown says she’s really good. I’m- not convinced we handled the same mold because this thing is horrible.
At least the Titans Return figure both has a finished Alt mode and actually looks cool. I've always really liked how that figure looks. This new one is just really basic and boring.
I totally agree on all fronts, and even if the TR is only a Redeco with a new head cause... Ya know, headmasters, it's still way better than this that had way more work put in.
I swear every line, with the exception of legacy evolution, has had some form of quality control dip in its final wave
Except final wave of legacy hasnt come out yet, so we dont know how the QC is going to be

The figure that embodies the phrase “there was an attempt”
Truly. And a pretty serious one from the designers. It was just a bad idea from the get go.

LoL. The QC is insanely bad of late.
Missed opportunity to call him a goddamn misquake

The titans return figure looks better than this guy IMO.
Despite he's a repaint of hardhead which I kinda hate
Way better. And I don't even know if it counts as a retool, because the changed head is just the TR gimmick.

The Definition of "There was an Attempt."
I just wanna say that if skullgrin had quake's leg his tank mode would be better
That is true... So long as they didn't cause his legs to fall off like these do.
I think I’m the only one who actually likes skullgrins alt mode, I’ve always thought it was like a giant anti-air gun platform
Problem is why does it only have treads on one half? How does it get around?
@ space wizardry I guess, but good point though 🤷♂️
The Son of Dai atlas
Kinda yeah.
Huh I can actually totally see that, and I'll be honest, I wouldn't be shocked if they did exactly that not to long in the future.
To be honest I rather Hasbro used this final wave of legacy to release hard to find figures instead of releasing new ones.
That would have been a better choice. It'd be exactly as phoned in, but it'd be phoned in with stuff that was actually good.
Imma say it but that gold face he has looks so strange among all of that gummy lookin plastic he beholds
Yeah it doesn't fit with the rest of the color pallet he has.
I mean I think you sure have the creativity to do so.
well, atleast they tried giving it effort
This is the definition of "There was an effort."
i feel like this wouldve been 1000 times better if they just made a new mold, also there are real tanks that look kinda like that, if they changed the turret it would look like one of those however they just took a random tank turret and slapped it on.
This would have been 1000 Times better as a Siege Impactor with a new head. I don't know why they made this out of Skullgrin of all characters.
Skullgrin and quake are both flawed but skullgrin didn’t break in half on me 💀 absolute rubbish
Oof, sorry to hear that. Hope you returned it.
@@PerspectiveEnd oh I one hundred percent returned it
I’m usually not usually super critical of transformers figures but after I played with this guy for a bit, I regretted buying him
Yeah, he just lacks all fun, and I'm not sure if that's just cause of the terrible QC, or if the engineering is just lifeless.
2:40 (I did get a good non transforming transformer in the form of Yolopark Nemesis Prime, on the topic of things like RED figures.)
(Though one has to wonder if you have handled a Yolopark Transformer.)
Yeah but those aren't made out of that shitty rubbery plastic. And no I've never picked up a Yolo Park.
I love this thing, I want one
I hope you like it more than me.
Guess we already have a competitor for Number 1 Worst Figure of 2024
What do you mean already? There's 1 month left in the year.
@@PerspectiveEnd Good point
0:48-0:53 I feel attacked
Aren't we all that. I mean we are just pathetic meat creatures, not cool robots.
When I saw it- I want this
When I saw it- I fucking hate it.
Like was there any separation between these two events.
@PerspectiveEnd yes
hey perspective i remember you saying that kingdom warpath was a big modern deluxe class figure, but how did you reach this conclusion when i look at him hes one of the smallest that i own and i own a lot of deluxes
I don't remember saying that but if I did, It was in comparison to say Cheetor and Blackarchnia.
But no I think a Big deluxe would be like Spinister.
Your the only one I've seen wuthbthis bad of a oc issues , my vector prime perfect joints as well as my quake , and that Optimus issue isn't an issue
Someone in this very comments section had their Quake snap in half.
Yay now i dont have to waste money
Yeah save your cash.
what Hasbro did to Quake with this figure is worse than what Quake did to Rubble in IDW2.
To be fair we never actually saw what happened to Rubble.
@@PerspectiveEnd We know it was deadly, though. Unlike this fella, that we know what they did to him and he wishes he could die.
Yeah honestly they need to make more Minicons.
And ho yeah, I needed to rip this guy a new set of organs.
I haven’t been super inspired by most of the modern Transformers so I went back and got ER Road Rage since Dr.Lockdown says she’s really good. I’m- not convinced we handled the same mold because this thing is horrible.
I'm so sorry man. You should not have listened to him there. He is literally insane to make the claim that she's good. That mold is an abomination.
Every longform video im waiting to the wheel cuz im really curious to see it and I don't even know why
I'm glad to hear that you enjoy that part.
@PerspectiveEnd btw my favourite transformer for now is ss 110, legacy armada prime and tm2 Megatron haven't arrived yet
I would of bought this figure if they added the kickass shoulder cannon like the titans return one
That would have at least been something interesting for this figure to have.
my vector prime has awful qc, half the chest has been unpainted and the pin in the sword missed the hole and pierced the plastic somehow
I've had the plastic pierced like that with other figures before. It totally get what you mean.
Well, atleast we got a quake figure (even though nobody cares about him).
TR was better. And they could have Retooled Impactor less and still gotten a better version of this dude.
Oh wow. we all just reviewing Quake this week lol
I've not noticed a trend of that my self.
