    I really like your car. Very nice color combination. These old cars are so much more comfortable than newer cars.

    I was the second owner of this Magnificent vehicle. I bought it through GAA in North Carolina. I installed the intermittent wipers and AM/FM Stereo along with the door speakers and grills. I also installed the clock. This car deserved these extra options in my opinion. When I bought it, it still had the original Firestone tires on it! Good luck new owner! Note the Mass inspection sticker.

    Super nice car! These cars are such underdogs, but super big sellers in their time period. I had a Granada, 2 door Sport edition, black with gold roof, what a looker it was a great car and never had any issues. I wish I had that car today, always a soft spot in my heart for those cars.

    WOW! We had Fords in the 70s when I grew up. I still remember that new interior smell, unique to Fords. I knew it was a 302 the second that you fired it up! Thanks for sharing!!!

    I graduated college in 1976. That same year my Dad bought a new ‘76 Monarch Ghia with the 302. He traded in our 1972 Ford Gran Torino sport for it. He drove it home and it had 50 miles on the odometer. It was a two door with medium blue body color with a dark top.
    I remember that car so well. I’d truly like to locate one.

    In 1977 I got a new F-100 ford had it about 3 weeks and it had a rattle in the rear suspension so I took it back to the dealer . When i got there I explained I needed something to get to work that's why I bought a new truck . After some discussion they came up with a new Grenada similar to this Monarch however it had the 351 CID V8 and for the time was quite peppy and I thought it drove pretty well , so I understand the affection for the Monarch .

    Nice classic car is 10 yrs older than me. See you own an Escape and a Mercury Milan too! Love Ford's myself me and my Dad are Ford people. I bought his 2010 Ford Fusion Sport a gen 1 body like your Milan. Our car never sees winter and has only 23k rare breed for the gen 1 which many people didn't know existed has the High Output close to 300HP V6 and the 6 speed Aisin T-80 performance transmission. But this Monarch/ Granada I'm guessing it was like the older version of the Taurus and Fusion

    • @Sean0526a
      @Sean0526a 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really not even in the same class as the Taurus. The Taurus was Ford's foray into front wheel drive, and was a completely new design for them(obviously highly successful as well). But this rear wheel drive car was an attempt to keep the luxury of the big cars but on a smaller platform. They were pretty great. I'm jealous of anyone who has one like this.

    • @marktippitt5601
      @marktippitt5601  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You really know your Fords and Mercurys to spot those in my garage and driveway. I really like our 2010 Milan Premier we got back in 2015 (only about 23000 miles then and almost 70000 now). One thing this MIlan is equipped with that I don't think was a common option is the big screen navigation, which ours has. It is a great unit, like it better than the 2017 Escape Titanium in the garage (have to keep it in there with the Monarch because my wife drives it.) Thanks Matt for your comments.

    • @mattmaverick703
      @mattmaverick703 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marktippitt5601 yeah the built in navigation is rare in those cars I believe it was an extra cost tech option back then. My 2010 Sport is just basic power equipped which is just fine by me. You are right. My Monarch was only driven about 7400 miles until about 2012. So it had only been driven about 1000 from then till June 2018 when I took delivery. Have to admit. even with the very low miles, I have some issues. Recently had the fuel pump replaced (letting gas into the oil). And now, it seems to be surging at idle the last few weeks. Going to have the carburetor rebuilt soon (think the culprit is the power valve). So age can take it's toll on parts over the years, even with very few miles on them. Thanks for the compliment.

    Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned
    from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the
    Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by
    reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated
    central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down
    all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From
    2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as
    exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox
    oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no
