I really enjoyed that Jamacia Kincaid addresses these difficult issues like Race and Racism in this interview. I admire her so much. She writes so beautifully. God bless her. I love Kincaid's take on Adam and Eve and God. Kincaid talks about the first garden The Garden of Eden and she uses it as a metaphor because she does gardening. To me that was such an interesting thing for her to say. Black people were created from mud and that's the reason why being black is something good. Mud is a good thing not a bad thing. It is us.

It’s hard to talk to white people about race. Look how checked out the interviewer is, rather than empathetic. Could white people ever understand?

Cynthia Pearson A few can acknowledge it. I do not know that it is possible to understand something that you are not and something that you cannot possibly experience because you are not that thing.

@@NeverLetLoveGo one can understand injustice and suffering because we've all gone through those experiences of one kind or another. Some whites have mixed race families and see the pain of their loved ones. I do not have to be to feel and have compassion for the oppressed and helpless.

Cynthia Pearson yes, if you have an intimacy and familiarity with the race.
