Quick 200 mile detour to the outerbanks of North Carolina because some lad told me we can find Americans with funny english accents. We rolled around Roanoke island all day looking for Hoi Toiders but also learning the cool history of the lost colony and visited kill devil hills. Was this 400 mile round trip worth it?

At the start I had no clue nor cared what a "Hoi Toider" was. By the end, I was bummed you guys chose Kitty Hawk and didn't continue on your epic quest! It's wild how hospitable and friendly folks are. The historian who chuckled at your Wikipedia joke, the Southern guys and their pick up truck, the dudes who took time out of their work day processing tuna to share all their perspective and history - Just awesome! Thanks for another great show. The Fun Facts! at the bottom are a great touch. It's neat how you introduce little known history and local tales into your travel videos. That could be a nice little niche you carve out.
I know mate, i was bummed too! But we chose to go to the outer banks that morning!! We were supposed to drive 2 hours north to Washington, but instead did an 8 hour, 400 mile detour!! The fun facts are a fun touch indeed, it's an added bonus for myself when editing, i can look back on the day and if i have any questions myself, do a quick research and add it as a 'fun fact'. He (the one gentleman by the truck) just isn’t from the sticks like the other guys. As someone from Alabama, his accent doesn’t sound very different to me. We get a mix of accents in Alabama. Too bad you missed New Orleans! Hoi Toiders - new to me. I enjoyed the video. I’m glad everyone is nice to you (except for the rude lady you said Happy MLK Day to. 😂).
If i had time i would have gone to down east and most definitely to Alabama. but we're on a tight schedule making our way north to NYC. Hopefully people continue being friendly, unline that rude MLK lady haha :)

Dan, great stuff, you guys meeting all the "good ole boys" in North Carolina, and shotguns in the background, hahahahahahaha. Those guys are a hoot. I'm from New York (North Shore Long Island) been down there many times, lots of crazy accents down there and a slower lifestyle than up North. If you had gone to Louisiana they would be speaking French Creole, Louisiana Cajun. Sometimes we can't even understand them, it's like you guys talking to the Scottish people. Virtually impossible to understand. By the way, there is no such thing as "real pizza" or any type of Italian food in the U.S. except for New York, New Jersey or Chicago, So wait until you get up here man and really enjoy pizza.
i had a blast down south and really looking forward to coming to NYC for some pizza. i bet it's going to be better than in Italy!

It's funny as an American I went to a British School in America but all my teachers were from GB, so I'm more accustom to British English accents and boy do they vary :). It is spectacular. What I'm getting at is I'm American and I found it harder to understand the Gentlemen by the pick up truck, they truly sounded foreign to me!
yes it's amazing how the English accents vary so much for such a small island!! He did sound foreign didn't he!!

ay how do you edit your videos? I record in 4k resolution in my gopro hero 11 but when i try to edit it on my windows 10 in some free editor apps its lagging and impossible to edit
Hello, I am a video editor for profession. 4K video has pros and cons. pros are that the video quality looks great, cons are that the file size is double the size. When you combine that with a free editor it can lag, becuase it's a sub-optimal setup for the edit of those files. The quality of your PC also factors in. For 4k video editing more RAM and processor speed are needed than what you find in the average PC/laptops. hope that give a little more insight.
@@WolferiousHalo Thank you! Well Im getting a new Pc because now i have a laptop and its 7 years old so maybe thats why im getting a new Box Pc so it could maybe work better!
Yo! When i first started editing i used a gopro and an old windows laptop and the lag was slooowwwww. I would NEVER dream of trying to edit 4k on a windows 10 laptop, you need a fast laptop with a good processor. I invested all my money in a 4K Camera and knew i needed a better laptop so i bought the newest macbook 14inch M1 chip. There's no lag and i can export the video in 10 minutes. On my old laptop it took 3-4 hours!!! Time is money.
I also use adobe premier pro.
Make sure you do your research!! i have 0 problems with my macbook, it just cost a lot of money!! £1700 but well worth it!
This almost reminds me of a TH-camr explaining the different dialects from USA regions. If you want to hear that type of dialect some parts of the south black communities speak in that form/dialect. The dialect is well and alive due to the black communities remaining isolated from education and expansion. The southern younger white communities assimilation to speaking a more “proper form” of English, that is one reason it is “dying out” or not heard as much. As always great video!
Yeah mate when we were in Charleston Brad was telling me of an island where a black community lives and they have a different dialect. I find it so fascinating!! Thanks for commenting on the video, i really appreciate it!! :)
