    I've had an eXmark, a Gravely ProTurn and two Ferris mowers. The ride of the Ferris is hands down the best and if you are older or have any back issues it is the obvious choice. A suspension seat does not compensate for the independent suspension of the Ferris. Add a suspension seat to the Ferris and you'll be amazed at the difference between a Ferris and the other machines. Also, I have found the Ferris mowers to be significantly higher quality machines than the Gravely with better quality materials, better durability and better design.

      I have a Gravely Proturn 260 i love it but i do hear that Ferris and Scag have the best seats. Idk how a seat could get much better unless it has a flat platform similar to the Gravely Proturn 660

    Bought a new 60'' Lazer Z back in 2000' for just under $10,000 with the Kohler 25hp. I added their suspension seat and their mulching kit and never looked back. It'll literally cut 1.6 acres in 18min flat. After all these years we're at less than 10.00 a year in parts! Let alone it plowed one hell of a lot of Wi. snow on a 100' x 25' driveway with a custom plow. Kudos to one of the best on the damn planet!! ALSO, if you want to erase ALL your heavy fall leaves get yourself one, add a mulching kit and say good bye forever to raking blowing and vacuuming. A simple cross hatch pattern and it looks perfect in no time flat! Freaking amazing machine. I do 3 fall cleanups/mulches in this manner at 3" and the lawn looks like a freakin' golf course. No matter the leaf mess, it's proven itself in a thick surrounding woods for decades. It's actually a pleasure to keep up a lawn since, seriously!

    I’ve had a Gravely 48 for about 4 years and checked out my mates ZTs, they are all similar in many respects however the important features for me are the ease of deck lift “Gravely” and the ride quality “Ferris”. Hope this helps.

      Your deck lift must be different from mine. Another thing I don't like about the Gravely 252 ProTurn is the awkwardness and difficulty using the deck lift. And I have a Ferris with a 72" deck and another Ferris with a 61" deck. Both are much easier to use. Just are better designed.

    Ferris 100% out of the mowers listed without a question. I have used Ferris, Hustler, Toro, Exmark etc. Given this isn't a full commercial model, but I have an IS3000Z 61" and it puts all the others to shame. The build quality of all other brands of the same year isn't even comparable and the ride quality of the Ferris is way ahead of all the others and as you get older that becomes more and more important. The cut quality is just as good as my Toro proline as well and the Toro's are known for their cut quality.

  • @romanharrell3562

    Ferris has the better specs. You get the Suspension, Bigger hydro’s and better engine if you go with the FS series Kawasaki upgrade over the Briggs. The FR Kawasaki’s on most mowers are the residential version. FS is entry level commercial right under the FX line. It’s also the fastest due to the larger and more powerful hydros. Ferris wins!

    With price not being an option, what mower would you choose between Ferris and Kubota Commercial diesel 60 inch?

    • @BeverageTractor
      @BeverageTractor  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      With this video being a bit older and options and models changing. Both are great mowers. Ferris makes a great machine and the Kubota is going to have their diesel in it and built with a strong machine around it. Typically would recommend checking options and features out on both for preferences. The ZD series with Kubota may come in a bit cheaper than the Ferris Diesel but both would get the job done. Hope this gives some direction and help with a choice.

    How different is the ariens apex compared to the zt hd

    • @BeverageTractor
      @BeverageTractor  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thanks for the comment. These 2 mowers are very comparable and could say one of the same. The Ariens can be sold in big box stores and so the service aspect is different than buying from a dealership. Gravely is only sold in the dealerships, although Ariens can be too. The Gravely has a few more engine options and made a little heavier than the Ariens, but virtually these 2 machines compare well. Gravely has more option getting into the commercial line up over the Ariens as it stops at the Apex. I hope that gives some direction and helps. Thanks again.

    I expect this mower will last several seasons with decent care. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend Also, I ran across the problem with it not starting the 2nd time I used it. There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.

    I managed to buy a brand new Ariens Ikon X 42" a couple years ago for just over $1,200. Yeah, better believe I took that deal. Overall, I love the mower. The Hydros whine a little more than I'd like and the ride was a bit to rough. Otherwise, awesome mower! I added a Trac Seat spring suspension to it a month ago, world of difference! The next mower I get will probably be a higher end Ariens or Gravely, even though it is the same company.

      The “ROPS” is the Roll Over Protection System. It is made of course if the machine was to roll over it would protect you from it rolling on you. Some systems are foldable and others are solid. The machines that do not have them you will notice also do not have a seatbelt. If it has ROPs it has a seatbelt. More can be explained there as well. Hope that helps. This video is now for older comparison. It’s a bit old on pricing now since it was posted. Your right they are not this cheap now. The older Radius E series was but not with model changes is increased.

    They're not "pumps" they are hydraulic motors.

      They have to be both. A hydraulic motor is driven, a pump drives.

      @@alfre4554 no. A pump moves fluid. A motor moves a machine

      @@justiceleaguer9108 really? Ok, let's take it down to 5th grade. An energy source connected to a pump moves fluid(drives) a (driven)motor with fluid pressure from said pump(driver) that absolutely can among many other things create or control movement.
