Dust to Dust hit my radar recently, still haven't checked it out, though. I'm very intrigued by it and your recommendation has bumped it up to the front of the queue. ...Sabretooth in Professor X's hoverchair!?! 🤣 I might have to check this out...! I can't wait until we have 4-5 hardcovers for Void Rivals - I think the series will majorly benefit from being able to just sit down and read a big chunk of it at a time as opposed to the month to month grind.
Dust to Dust is a nice change of pace to the other books I’m reading & was a very pleasant surprise! Wolverine wore Magneto’s helmet earlier in the series, nice to see another costume equipment item get used here! It’s been a fun series, but this by far was my favorite issue!
As soon as they came out I was in touch with Jiggy saying I’d love to get ahold of one!

The Dust to Dust series sounds intriguing. Like a comic book version of The Grapes of Wrath! Great looking art by Jones, too. Good to see Townsend inking credits again. It feels like I haven't seen his name in years. I also like what he did with Capullo's pencils more than what his usual inker does. Just a stylistic preference though.
Dust to Dust definitely has a lot going for it, not flashy, just a story being crafted well (thus far). Interesting that you prefer Townsend here, I personally don’t think it’s a better fit. Not bad, or worse than Glapion, but also not something that feels like a stand out pairing to me.

@@CarlsCollection I figured you'd prefer Glapion's inks, as that style has pretty much defined the Capullo look ever since the Court of Owls story. Again, it's just a stylistic preference in that I like how he simplified it and left out lots of the little bits of detail that Glapion usually puts in, which I figure are the little details that you and most Capullo fans WANT to see.
I've been loving Dust to Dust through 2 issues. That JG Jones black and white western artwork is what sold me, but it's also refreshing to find a book that's purely a western, not a genre mashup. I think the slower pace is going to be offputting to some people but I think it suits the book well. Also, if you're interested in more comics about Dustbowl era America, check out Days of Sand by Aimée de Jongh
Completely agree about the pace of Dust to Dust, at least in that first issue for sure. However, it’s all in service to this story being told! Very much looking forward to the rest of the series. Days of Sand, I’ll add it to the list (Note to self, I really need to start making an actual list so I can remember these suggestions!)
This issue of Redcoat was fantastic! I haven't read Dust to Dust #2 yet. I wasn't sold on the first issue, but the art is getting me to try the second issue.
@@newellturner7778 I loved this issue of Redcoat too, I didn’t get into the wild fun bit of excitement for the issue in the review, figured that was too fun & needed to be experienced by anyone who was curious enough to actually read the series! I feel like Dust to Dust needed two issues to flesh out the premise a bit, issue 1 set the tone of small town living in its slow pace & character small talk. Not necessarily gripping stuff, but things to pick up in issue 2 & the direction of the series seemingly came into focus more.

Definitely need to catch up on all of the Ghost Machine books
I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read so far. I do like how they are providing books with varying tones. A bit of a “something for everyone” approach.
