    I’m so glad you brought up the 4-down philosophy of Georgia that 2nd half, context is SO important! I keep trying to tell people that. It COMPLETELY changes the rhythm of the playcalling and puts tons of pressure on a defense for an entire half. A 3rd and 5 play becomes called like a 2nd and 5. Georgia was 5 for 5 on 4th downs when in a regular game 3-4 of those would’ve been punts.

    Brooks, I enjoyed the discussion about needing that one big player missing
    on the team. I would like to get your input on my opinion. I think we need to
    be a bit more creative with how we use Bell. If we had a threat to catch the
    ball out of the backfield I think it would have played large. And especially at
    that moment when we lost the game on the last Beck pick. His running ability
    after a short route or perhaps even a longer pass at that key moment.
    We once used more in the backfield of course as a RB. Just think we need
    to use him more creatively. So that we don't have to put the ball in the endzone
    when we have some time to attack other areas. Also I think it would open up
    some other possibilities. For one thing if he has any abilities to throw... perhaps
    creating trick plays like Bama almost pulled off . I just think if we don't have
    superstar receivers let's use our swiss army knife player to the max. Later in the
    season maybe one of the young guys can become a reliable weapon out of
    the backfield. But for now it's like that really needed extra threat we very
    much need in big matchups

    You act like showing up to call plays is the only part of Bobo's job. Say he works 60 hrs a week. When you watch game film, you're evaluating 3/60. That's 0.05% of what Bobo does. What you don't see is the other 99.5% portion of his job. Here's what we can say for sure: the offense is riddled with NFL players, the offense is performing very poorly, and Bobo is the OC.

    As a Bama fan I would say we didn’t dictate tempo. Outside of Milroe our run game was abysmal and we didn’t grind the clock. We’re an explosive offense not an elite offense. An elite offense can speed up and slow down at will. By not keeping our defense off the field they got gassed. Three picks with a forced fumble and at times making UGA’s offense claw and grind to get a touchdown is more than enough defense to beat any team. Bama has to figure out how to methodically get 1st downs and grind clock. If it’s just pedal to the metal or nothing that isn’t going to work in the play offs. My hope is this upcoming Vandy game will feature more of the backs and dictating tempo.

      It's actually something Saban has talked about. Too much boom or bust offense. They need to find a mode that's just consistent and suffocating. It's the last infinity stone for them. Like they need more help haha

      @tonybaggett1984 11 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@TheFilmGuyNetwork I am curious if our boom or bust offense is from coaching or Milroe. Milroe is the one guiding the offense and working the clock. Sometimes I wonder if he can only operate at high rpms or not at all, like a Lamborghini. But the coaches could be the ones telling him to go fast too.

    • @kennethjohnson9496
      @kennethjohnson9496 6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@tonybaggett1984 Bama is just catering their offense to Milroe’s skill set. They’re going to ride or die with Milroe being able to make plays. It’s not a bad plan as he’s an incredible player! But chances are that offensive approach isn’t sustainable to win championships. It’ll obviously win a game, but that won’t always be the case. Nothing is impossible, but some things are improbable.

    I’m confused. I’m not sure why so many media members are making Alabama out to be some juggernaut after that performance. . They were at home, got FOUR (4) turnover AND a safety yet they were still in position to go to OT or straight up lose with 40 seconds to go. I don’t get how that’s considered some form of greatness. It made the game better that they almost blew it even though they had just about every single thing go their way but geez pretty pathetic that they couldn’t keep that game put away

      So Alabama ain’t great? Georgia ain’t great? Pretty pathetic that they couldn’t keep the game put away? A team that was favored to beat them, objectively? Kirby made great adjustments, and his team fell short. If Alabama is on they are beating anyone in the country. If they play 60 minutes at the rate they did in the first half, they are the best. Media gotta talk about it. Roll tide 🤫

    Not only did Alabama not let up, they were leaving 20+ secs on the clock with each snap. It almost seemed like the coordinators and Deboer weren't sure exactly what adjustments they wanted to make, especially since they couldn't run the ball effectively. I don't think they ever imagined they would be up 4 scores like that on Georgia, and they just said "to hell with it, we'll stick to what's working." Can't blame them too much for that, but I think (hope) going up against the effective adjustments Kirby and Georgia came out with will be a great learning experience for them going forward into the rest of SEC play.

    The coach vs player execution debate comes down to expectation. If Tenn Tech offense isn't executing against UGA- coach is fine. If UGA offense riddled with NFL players is consistently not executing against teams you'd expect them to be competitive against, it's on the coaches. 1st round QB, supposedly the best o-line in the country, deepdeepand TE room, bring in ETN- they're not executing.

  • @kennethjohnson9496
    @kennethjohnson9496 5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    I’ve heard this narrative about UGA’s offense the second half being propped up because of multiple 4th down conversions. And my only rebuttal to that is, UGA still had to execute those conversions. They were actually better on 4th down than they were on 3rd down. UGA was even better on 4th down than Bama was on 3rd down as well. Regardless of down and distance, the team still has to execute the play. So I’m not sure what’s so “fugazi” about it. Successful execution is just that….successful. Also, the narrative that Bama offense went “conservative” the second half can also be debunked with that stat that UGA’s defense held Bama to only 17 yards rushing the second half. That’s with Milroe on the field. UGA’s halftime adjustments, UGA’s 4 turnovers, Bama’s WR making 2 miraculous plays, and bad angles & poor tackling by both defenses told the story of this game.

    @The Film Guy. I have a question, when can we start actually blaming the players for their bad play. I'm a Bama fan and I was really disappointed in Carson Beck production. I guess I am saying that if he was in the NFL he would have been reemed. He is making millions of dollars to play the game now so he should be accountable for the 3 picks. Just a question?

    You do be glazing Georgia just a little bit but it’s all good. You still have the best takes on games I’ve found. I love the play by play breakdowns. I do agree Alabama was outplayed toward the mid point of the 3rd and almost the entire 4th quarter. That Alabama defense was tired because the offense could not keep them off the field imo. Georgia converting all of those 4th downs hurt Alabama a lot and Alabama penalties played a huge part.

      Glazing UGA? How are stats “glazing?” You could say the same thing about UGA’s defense the first half. UGA’s defense couldn’t get off the field the first half. Fact is, elite teams don’t get down 28-0 in the first half. Nor do elite teams give up a 28-0 lead to the point of falling behind late in the 4th qtr at home. Especially with the added benefit of 3 UGA turnovers at that point, and an additional 4th UGA turnover to end the game. Also, UGA held Bama to only 17 rushing yards the entire second half. And that’s with Milroe on the field and Bama supposedly getting “conservative” the 2nd half. Turnovers and WR were the difference in this game. Not to mention Milroe played the game of his life. I’m anxious to see how Bama looks offensively when they don’t have their fastball because chances are it’s going to happen eventually. But neither UGA nor Bama is elite. Good news is, there aren’t any elite teams in CFB this season. Every team has flaws and can be beat. Single regular season losses are no longer fatal. Both UGA & Bama are still in a good spot regardless of outcome. I think some teams, and most fans, are still stuck in the old mindset of CFB. Some coaches are still building their teams to win games. While some coaches are building their teams to be sustainable in order to win championships. I think Bama is built to win games. UGA is built to win championships. Obviously teams can adjust as the season goes along, but right now that’s what it looks like. We’ll see which philosophy pays off in the end.
