- Today we visit Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom and try out Disney Genie+ (Genie Plus)! There we relive some old favourite attractions and then hop over to the Grand Floridian for a wonderfully festive evening.
I'm Adam Hattan, a family-friendly theme park and vacation vlogger from the United Kingdom who often vlogs the magic of Disney Parks. I love going to Walt Disney World with my friend Gary C and I'm excited to be sharing this holiday vlog series with you!

After 18 months of border closures, Gary and I are finally on our way to Magic Kingdom! We awake in our Art of Animation Cars Suite and enjoy the beautiful sunrise on the way to the bus. Whilst waiting for the bus, I explain what Disney Genie is, what Disney Genie+ is and what Individual Attraction Selections are (luxury/fancy rides). I then show you how to open your 'My Day' and 'Tip Board' within the My Disney Experience app, and book attractions with Genie Plus.
Once at Magic Kingdom, we have an emotional entry into the park and enjoy seeing the castle for the first time since it's 50th Anniversary makeover. The line to meet Mickey Mouse first thing was very low, so we start by meeting the big cheese in the Town Square Theatre. For the first time ever, we just get to enjoy Main Street USA. We grab breakfast at Starbucks, then take a seat outside the Ice Cream parlour, to soak it all up.
We show you where to get the Magic Kingdom Zoom photo, before sharing some of the 50th Anniversary golden statues in the hub. We start out with Lady & The Tramp, spot Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Cinderella's Mice (Jaq & Gus) and more. The hunt is then on to find the other character statues dotted around the park. Throughout the day we find Stitch, Abu, Tinkerbell, Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatter, Orange Bird and more!
During our day, we utilise both wait times and the Lightning Lanes via Genie+ and Individual Attraction Selections to ride Peoplemover, Space Mountain, Under the Sea with Ariel, Big Thunder Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean. The rest of our time in the park is spent soaking up the atmosphere and just enjoying being there. We saw character cavalcades such as the Disney Princess cavalcade, the 50th Anniversary cavalcade and the Move It, Shake It style one.
As our batteries start to run low, we take the resort boat service over to Disney's Grand Floridian for dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe and for a look at their magical Christmas decorations, including the life-size Gingerbread House built in the lobby. Once back at our room, we give you a full review of our experience (on this day alone) of Genie+ and the Individual Attraction Selections, to see if we thought it was worth the money.
All in all, we had the best time at Magic Kingdom and we were both so grateful to just be there. Next week we're off to Epcot! Make sure you've got notifications turned on to know when we're premiering the next vlog.

Love that you guys appreciating things more in Disney World even the smallest things. It is definitely an eye opening when you walk slower and find something interesting to look at.

I bloody love you two together, genuine friendship with lots of sarcasm and laughter makes a winning combination. Getting rid of the complimentary magical express, complimentary fast passes and now having to pay an extra $9 for Space Mountain and $12 for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train fast passes!? Disney is unashamedly the biggest money grab ever.

I agree about Genie+ bringing more spontaneity to a visit. I HATED having to plan Fastpasses so far in advance. I’m very much a “what do I feel like doing right now” type person, and the planning aspect of the old system didn’t work for me at all. I know people are fussing about the extra cost, but I definitely think it’s worth it for me. I’m happy to pay it to skip the standby lines (I’m not a patient person 😂🤷🏻♀️) and book things on the fly. Happy you had a lovely first day back!

$5.50 for water is shocking.

I went Feb 2020 and October 2020 and got the free water at quick service locations. Majority of them gave us the regular size cups too!

I have to admit, I really liked and appreciated the vibe of this video. I could tell you two were more relaxed, and because you were going a tiny bit slower then usual it felt like in a way, I got to take more of the scene in and enjoy it as well!! Either way, love the videos!

I’m so happy to see you both again in the parks! Thank you so much for bringing us along! IMO, Genie+ may be worth it for 1 individual, but $60 for a family of 4 per day is absolutely ridiculous. We’ve tried it twice, and have found it to be a waste of money sadly.
Our second time using it wasn’t great.

Tips for mobile order from a CM. Ordering at the register has the lowest priority. It can take a LOOOOONG time to get your food. Using mobile order and choosing the time slot that says, “Now”, you are the second priority. If you choose a time slot for a future time you have the highest priority. The further ahead you book the quicker you’ll get your food. Placing your order in the morning for lunch is a GREAT way to plan your day.

Dasani has salt in it to provide electrolytes which actually help with dehydration. Smart water does taste better but I wouldnt say one is better than the other =) just wanted to clear up that misinformation but I love the video! Im going in like 18 days!
The fact they're charging for lightning lane now makes me so sad it's already so unaffordable for so many people :((( I wish everyone could enjoy it as much as some!!!

As you walk through the gates of the magic Kingdom, I felt every emotion with you. Only a Disney person would feel that and know what I mean. How amazing and magical. I can't wait to go back.
