I love your dress. You must be so proud to be British! Such idyllic towns with incredible rich history. Seeing the lovely Donna always brings a smile to my face! Thank you for all your hard work for your subscribers, Miranda!
The books, the food, the drinks, the dress, the music, the landscape, even the cemetery give me so much peace. You and your mum are 100% lovely. How lucky are your guests for spending a Friday evening at your cozy home! Thank you so much for sharing ❤
Thanks so much for your very kind words and generous support of my channel! I so appreciate both and am so glad watching the vlog gave you some peaceful moments.🌹💚
So lovely to see you again Miranda and Donna, so enjoyable as always...it's actually quite hard do "put down in words how wonderful life is while you're in the world" 😊❤ Therapeutic...must try that 😂 have a great weekend you beautiful ladies you...🌼
I’m having a lovely time catching up on videos I missed during a busy summer and loved watching this, there was so much to enjoy! I really like seeing your outfits, you always look lovely, and I find it inspiring as I have similar taste in clothes. Your new glasses really suit you. I got a new pair of glasses earlier this year, which were also well overdue, I had my last pair for even longer than you, about fourteen years I think! It’s so nice having my new pair I wonder why I put it off so long!
So nice to see a summer themed video when it seems like everyone else has already skipped straight to autumn. Love this one, so much beautiful footage of the countryside too.
Miranda, I’ve always enjoyed your videos, but I especially am enjoying them lately - I look so forward to them - I enjoy your visits to different villages, shops, book stores, tea rooms, etc., etc. I also enjoy your talks at home, seeing your pretty dresses, talking with your mom, just seeing your everyday life. In other words, I love it all (lol). Please don’t stop. I love you and your mom. Thank you so much Miranda and Donna.
Thanks Miranda, really thrilled to watch your vlogs, your Seasalt dress is so beautiful really suits you! The camera loves you and your skin looked like porcelain! The Yorkshire villages are so relaxing, i adore Yorkshire and having a trip with my husband soon to Reeth ! the stunning Yorkshire hills are fabulous round there. Sending love to your wonderful mum xx
Thank you so much, Anna for your very generous support of my channel! I appreciate it and your kind words so much! I’m delighted with the dress - such a pretty pattern. 👗❤️
Thank you the Lissa Evans recommendation. I am looking up her books as I watch. Your patchwork quilt is so cheerful on your bed! As a quilter, I love seeing people using quilts. Did you or your mother make it? I am watching this on a Monday morning and wish you and Donna a wonderful new week!
A month in the country is a beautiful novel, it’s extremely well written, subtle, reflecting on the meqning of art, art as a redeeming power, love, the trauma caused by war, generosity....and so much more. I loved it s😅o much that I purchased the DVD made out of it! It’s brillant.
Hi Miranda & mum, Your mum is up holding her reputation as the book whisperer 😂 well done. Love your dress Miranda, so enjoy your videos. Looking forward to the next one 😊
Miranda, you never cease to amaze me. A busy day at work with zoom calls added in, and you’re preparing these wonderful appetizers for your guests. Oh, and taping a video for us also. Oh, and by the way, the car is in the garage too. I would have been pulling my hair out and ordering pizza delivery😊. Loved all your outfits, especially Friday’s dress. And it’s always a delight to see Donna too. The countryside is always gorgeous but the blue skies and puffy clouds today are especially breathtaking. I had remarked on one of the Instagram posts that the beauty of the photos made my heart ache🥰
It’s such a joy to see you and your mum out enjoying the beautiful Yorkshire countryside and afternoon tea and cake. Lissa Evans is new to me, so I will be looking out for her books, as I love stories from that era. I’ve just finished The Girl Who Fell From The Sky by Simon Mawer, which was a terrific read. Thank you for some great book recommendations.
Your videos are so lovely to watch - the houses the gardens the teas and cake, just so lovely. And the books read, it’s been wonderful learning about new to me authors. The Lissa Evan’s one in particular sound like good reads. Thank you for the time and effort you put into sharing these things.
Every time I watch your videos I reserve more books from the library-absolutely wonderful thank you,I have piles of books to read but am enjoying discovering new authors and loving your recommendations.Thank you Miranda;you are the voice of calm and loveliness in a crazy world ❤
Just letting you know that I’ve just spent a few nights in Cambridge with my hubbie, inspired by the Murder by the Book exhibition you showed us recently. We absolutely loved the exhibition, and Cambridge, which we didn’t know at all. Thank you as always for your inspiration!
Thank you for a very cosy vlog. I've had a bit of a week so it was wonderful to sit down and watch while enjoying a refreshing drink. A combination of shop bought and easy to make homemade things is such a great idea. The last time I did drinks and nibbles I included homemade quince jelly and cheeses. Thank you for telling us about Lissa Evans' novels. I've watched the film but had not made the connection. I've ordered Helen Simonson's latest novel.
The books by Lissa Evan's are just what I'm in the mood for! Thank you for the interesting insights into her work. And thanks too for this vlog.... like every other one of your vlogs I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thanks so much for your very kind support of my channel and your kind words! I so appreciate both and hope you enjoy reading Lissa Evans’ books too ❤️📚
Another wonderful video - thank you! Also thank you for making us aware about Lissa Evans’s new book - I love her stories! Sending lots of happiness to you and your lovely mum ❤️✨📚
I'm so happy to have found your channel. Not just for all the interesting books you recommend and your positive relaxing vibes but also all the lovely places you visit in Yorkshire (I'm in Leeds) and the rest of England. Thank you for all those days out ideas ❤ I went to Shandy Hall a few weeks ago, such an enjoyable place. We didn't go to the tea room but had a delicious lunch in the nearby pub. Tea room next time! 😀
Lovely to see you as always. I have only recently found your channel and I’m enjoying working my way through your back catalogue. I’m delighted to see that Lissa Evans has a new book coming as I love her writing. Have a lovely weekend. Gill .
Another lovely vlog, Miranda - thank you. I think I may have to try Lissa Evans after hearing you describe her books. I am really pleased how you have enthused about Barbara Pym in the past. I finished reading A Few Green Leaves last week - my first BP book - and absolutely loved it. So entertaining!
Love your 'seed packet' dress! Looks very summery❤. Thanks for sharing the sights of the cute little village and church. And what a lucky find of the Three men in a boat (one of my favorite books!)
Miranda, the line about taking out frustration by pounding the relish after a week hard work cracked me open: so funny and appropriate for me right now 😅Thank you as always for the lovely vlog, the Brora blouse really suits you! Have a lovely soon to be weekend 🌻
Dear Miranda, I am in Japan right now on a special Holiday trip and I enjoyed your video so very much. It was like listening to and seeing a friend from home. This is so lovely. Thank you for this lovely vlog!❤
Dear Miranda (and Mum). Just wanted to thank you for the memories, although your post made me cry this time 😢. Shandy Hall was one of the last places my husband and I visited, it's a lovely place, and so was the tea room, remember sitting in the garden in the sunshine. I lost Terry back in December 2023, ater a short illness, too quick and too soon. He was my ,love, my life and my soul mate. It would have been our 54th Wedding anniversary this month (we were babes when we we'd in 1970). Always enjoy your posts. We were both avid readers, but sadly I haven't picked up a book since December! I don't have a family but I have my two Kits 🐺🐱🐾that are giving me a reason to get up each day .. Take care . Sending love, light and blessings to you both 🌻🐞🌼🐝🌹🦋 xx
Thank you for the lovely vlog, and I love your dress! I love all the tea rooms and bookshops you get to go to. When I visit the UK, those will be on my short list!
Always look forward to your videos. They are like having a cup of tea with a good friend! ❤. Thank you for sharing your world and book recommendations!
A fabulous vlog as always. Lovely to see the delicious food you prepared for your guests and to take a little trip with you. Great to see more book recommendations - I have already ordered a second hand copy of Enbury Heath!
I LOVE seeing the countryside. I will be in the Lake District in a few weeks riding horses with friends. It will be a nice change from hot humid Florida (tho I do love how all the tourists are finally gone this time of year - so there’s some good to the heat!). I started Crooked Heart by Lissa Evans at your suggestion and it is lovely. Strong characters and such a different view of how the home front wasn’t all “stay calm and carry on”. Thanks for your recommendations. A Month in the Country was sooo moving. That is the type of book I would never have found without you. You all look marvelous and I can’t wait to visit a tea room in Cumbria soon!
The sign outside Shandy Hall got my attention immediately- Plants and Books for Sale! My favourite kind of place. The gardens look very restful, and Anne Shirley would absolutely be thrilled with your puffed sleeves😊. Thank you for another enjoyable video.
I LOVE ‘Old Baggage’, Mattie is one of my all time favourite characters. Can’t wait to read Lissa Evans’ new book. So happy to have a new blog from you Miranda x
I just started reading that exact edition of Enbury Heath yesterday after coming across it at my library! I’d never heard of it before, until you mentioned it here today ! 😄 Thank you for another wonderful day with you and your mum, Miranda ❤
I highly appreciate it when you show us the good times spent with family, like your mum Dona. These are gold moments . I so like the idea of a tea room. It's not that frequent to find any here in my country. But, hummus, by the way, we have plenty of it 😅..so thank you Miranda...your videos are the top of the top. Elias From Lebanon.
Well, we have a very hot summer here in Berlin, so I can share some sun with you, Donna and Miranda! Miranda, you look so great with the glasses! Congratulations! And I love the new hair colour of Donna! It is a great joy, to see you both! Best regards!
Hi, if you can’t get black beans, you can use other types of beans….kidney or cannellini beans would work well. Your other super fast option is to stir in a teaspoon of the harissa paste into your hummus for a similar taste. Love your videos and content! Thank you! 💙
Such a lovely surprise to see a new vlog from you pop up after a busy work week. Love the seed dress and blouse, really suits you❤thanks for brightening my day❤
Sorry that I'm watching this video a little late but I myself have had a busy few days but as always I love to see everything you do and I will add miranda that your dress is fabulous I hope you had a wonderful evening with your friends you certainly have lovely surroundings for entertaining 😊
I bought that seed packet dress last week - it makes me very happy and I gave a cheer when I saw you wearing it too. Thank you for another lovely vlog - it is just what I need to enjoy while winding down after a busy day.
I also wanted to add how much I enjoy Donna appearing in your videos and the affection and camaraderie between you both. My Mum passed away 2 years ago - some of your Mum's sayings and mannerisms were so like my Mum's. I had the same kind of relationship with my Mum and although I miss her so much, going on trips or cooking with your Mum on your vlogs evoke happy memories of similar times I spent with my Mum. So, thank you both. Your videos are like a balm.
Your outfits were so stunning! Such a beautiful place that it is Shandy Hall. Your Mum is invincible when it comes to finding wonderful books. But what I enjoyed the most in this vlog was at 15:35 ❤ I felt it was so British! 😝 Thanks for another amazing vlog!!!
Hello Miranda- I so enjoyed watching this episode- I’ve been busy preparing food for my husband’s birthday tomorrow as I watched you preparing for your lovely evening! Shandy Hall looks like a wonderful place to visit- books AND plants for sale- my idea of fun! Btw I bought a copy of The Hazelbourne Ladies Cycling and Flying Club- I haven’t started it yet but am very much looking forward to it- many thanks from Elizabeth 😊
So enjoyed this vlog! I’m currently reading The Little Wartime Library which is a WW2 book set in London, but sadly not enjoying it as much as I hoped to!
Miranda , delighted to see your blogs, I succumbed and HAD to subscribe, your pleasant posts along with your Mum are tranquility in our much too rushed lives!😍
I loved this jam packed vlog! It contained so very much- recipes, entertaining, historic venues, gardens, countryside cemetery, book reviews, clothing highlights…😊 I love Donna’s hair ! Please tell her it looks very glam, chic and very becoming to her coloring. I didn’t get to have my champs toast with you at a lunch, but I rewound to toast at the pink drink part!!! Haha! Thank you again for a very lovely escape dear Miranda & Donna! Enjoy the last of Summer and happy reading!
Wow that dress is so becoming on you. Love your clothes choices. I always have tapenade on hand. My favourite cocktail right now is a Negroni.great glasses!
I loved the film of ‘Their Finest’ which I came across on Britbox - I didn’t know it was based on a book and am intrigued by all the books by Lissa Evans. I look forward to the interview. So thank you! And also for the lovely vlog of your travels in Yorkshire.
Wanted to let you know, Miranda, that I really enjoyed your earlier recommendations of Vera and The Feast, which I ordered from Blackwell's. I am still catching up on your summer travel vlogs. Thanks, as always, to you and Donna. Judy, Raleigh, NC
How nice, a pot of tea- enjoy - your last couple of Sea Salt the dress and blouse beautiful - and trousers - that outfit will be perfect as we start hitting more cool weather - wonderful sale items ! Your evening with friends was a delight to watch all the prep work and after pictures of the goodies - enjoy the good weather and thank you for the couple of book hints also! New glasses great on you!! 😊
So much thought goes into everything you do, those nibbles and cocktail look delicious. I have read "Green for Danger" on recommendation from you previously and really enjoyed it, I will look at reading "Suddenly at his Residence" next. Have also read Uncle Paul by Celia Fremlin and really felt the suspense all through the story. Thank you both for including us in your visit to the picturesque Shady Hall and the Tea rooms.🥀❤
I really enjoyed this vlog as I posted 2 weeks ago that I had visited Shandy Hall and the tearooms where I had the coffee cake and my partner the Victoria sponge! We didn't look around the church so I feel another visit coming up with another trip to the tearooms to check the quality of the cakes one more time 🤭 I spotted 2 Folio Society books in the shop but had to hold off even taking them out of the sleeve as I persevere with my no buying books year 🥴
Loved this Miranda and both you and your mum look very well! Not tried Lisa Evans yet, but next for me. I’ve just started Ex Wife by Ursula Parrot, reprinted by Faber. I also finished The Figurine by Victoria Hislop today and loved it. It focuses on antiquity theft from Greece and mixes in some wonderful descriptions and history, including the dictatorship of the 60/70s. Fascinating to me! Have a lovely weekend and I hope the weather is better than it has been today! Xxx
I recently finished A Quartet in Autumn and The Hours Before Dawn. I had not read Barbara Pym's or Celia Fremlin's books before, but I enjoyed both so much. Thank you for recommending them. Currently I am rereading A Shilling for Candles by Josephine Tey, and I started EV Cunningham's The Case of the Poisoned Eclairs. I am happy to hear you are feeling better and enjoying guests, food, and books again. I hope both of you have a wonderful weekend!
I so enjoyed this vlog, Miranda, thank you as always for sharing with us - I don't watch television but I always feel your vlogs are like TV episodes for me! I always have a job finding black beans so wasn't at all surprised to hear you had trouble. I have absolutely no idea why they can be tough to track down! I was thrilled to see you picked up 'Enbury Heath' by Stella Gibbons as I've been reading a lot of her books this year and absolutely loved that one! The covers of those editions are just beautiful too
Super books , I've seen the film of Their Finest Hour , really enjoyed it. Those nibbles looked delicious and I really want to try that Cocktail 🍸. Beautiful dress and gorgeous blouse too, such lovely colours and print. Thank you for a super episode x
Thank you for another wonderful vlog Miranda, so interesting 😊 Love your outfits of the day & seeing you in a blouse & trousers. I hope yourself & your mum are both well. I thought your mum looked tired bless her but I love her hair shorter as it really suits her ❤ Take care both until next time xx

I think it's so wonderful in our modern day that I can be thousands of miles away in the US and still enjoy a little bit of your world!
Glad you enjoyed it, Deborah, and it “shortened the distance” so to speak! ❤️
The books, the food, the drinks, the dress, the music, the landscape, even the cemetery give me so much peace. You and your mum are 100% lovely. How lucky are your guests for spending a Friday evening at your cozy home! Thank you so much for sharing ❤

You’re so lucky with the lovely tea rooms and bookshops you have around you!!
Your glasses suit you perfectly! What a stylish and elegant choice.

That’s lovely and so touching, June! My sincere condolences for your loss ❤️
Thanks! Another special time spent with you, your mom, and your lovely country!!!
So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much for your generous support, Carol! I so appreciate your kindness ❤️🌹
A lovely video - I enjoyed all of it - thank you Miranda and Donna too!
So happy you enjoyed it! Thank you ❤️
Love all of your nibbles and the cocktail recipe.
A Pink Wink would be perfect right now in the middle of yet another heat wave.🍹
Wish I could pass you one! Hope it cools down soon! 🩷😉🍸
I hope you have a lovely celebration, Elizabeth! Happy Birthday greetings to your husband! 🎉🎂🎁

Can't wait to watch this! Your videos inspire so much
Thank you! I am, but it feels like August is flying by this summer. Hope you have a great month ahead! ❤️

Hey Miranda, I got the lamp from your code! Thank you! I'm loving it. Would you please share from where you got your green bag? so cute!
I loved this jam packed vlog!
It contained so very much- recipes, entertaining, historic venues, gardens, countryside cemetery, book reviews, clothing highlights…😊
I love Donna’s hair !
Glad you enjoyed it! Same to you too 🩷🍸
Ok but the first outfit IS FABULOUS 🎉
Thanks so much!
Wow that dress is so becoming on you. Love your clothes choices. I always have tapenade on hand. My favourite cocktail right now is a Negroni.great glasses!
Thank you so much. I love tapenade - great staple! ❤️🍸
I loved the film of ‘Their Finest’ which I came across on Britbox - I didn’t know it was based on a book and am intrigued by all the books by Lissa Evans. I look forward to the interview. So thank you! And also for the lovely vlog of your travels in Yorkshire.
Thanks so much, Lorraine! ❤️
The book cover on Tour De Force is just lovely.
Such a lovely cheerful vlog. Thanks Miranda 🏴
Thanks so much! 😊
Wanted to let you know, Miranda, that I really enjoyed your earlier recommendations of Vera and The Feast, which I ordered from Blackwell's. I am still catching up on your summer travel vlogs. Thanks, as always, to you and Donna. Judy, Raleigh, NC
I'm so glad to read that Judy! Thanks so much 🙏❤️
How nice, a pot of tea- enjoy - your last couple of Sea Salt the dress and blouse beautiful - and trousers - that outfit will be perfect as we start hitting more cool weather - wonderful sale items ! Your evening with friends was a delight to watch all the prep work and after pictures of the goodies - enjoy the good weather and thank you for the couple of book hints also! New glasses great on you!! 😊
Thanks so very much for your kind words and support of my channel, Virginia! I so appreciate it ❤️
So much thought goes into everything you do, those nibbles and cocktail look delicious.
I’m very happy you enjoyed watching the vlog! Thanks so much for the lovely comments ❤️
You both look lovely as always. You are such a good team! Love the video❤❤❤
Thank you so much!!❤️
I really enjoyed this vlog as I posted 2 weeks ago that I had visited Shandy Hall and the tearooms where I had the coffee cake and my partner the Victoria sponge! We didn't look around the church so I feel another visit coming up with another trip to the tearooms to check the quality of the cakes one more time 🤭 I spotted 2 Folio Society books in the shop but had to hold off even taking them out of the sleeve as I persevere with my no buying books year 🥴
The church is so interesting, Lynne. I’m sure you’d enjoy seeing it. I’m so glad we managed to make it to the tearooms this time too! 😀🍰
I just purchased both green and also pink trousers this month. Sort of new for me.
So exciting to see a new vlog! I’ve been eagerly waiting the next video😊
Hope you enjoy it!❤️
Lovely as always!
Another wonderful video from you! I have never read any of Lissa Evans's books, but I can see I'll have to rectify that. Thank you!
Xxx
Wishing you a lovely weekend too, Julie, and more happy reading! ❤️📚
Thank you, Celeste! Wishing you a great weekend ahead! ❤️
Lovely surprise vlog💕love your dress 💕
Thank you so much 😊
I love that dress!❤
I so enjoyed this vlog, Miranda, thank you as always for sharing with us - I don't watch television but I always feel your vlogs are like TV episodes for me! I always have a job finding black beans so wasn't at all surprised to hear you had trouble. I have absolutely no idea why they can be tough to track down! I was thrilled to see you picked up 'Enbury Heath' by Stella Gibbons as I've been reading a lot of her books this year and absolutely loved that one! The covers of those editions are just beautiful too
Thank you so much, Emmie! I am a Stella Gibbons fan too and was so pleased to find Enbury Heath! As you say, beautiful editions ❤️📚
Super books , I've seen the film of Their Finest Hour , really enjoyed it. Those nibbles looked delicious and I really want to try that Cocktail 🍸. Beautiful dress and gorgeous blouse too, such lovely colours and print. Thank you for a super episode x
Thanks so much, Mhairi! The cocktail really was a hit! 💖
❤❤❤ much love from 🇺🇸
I've been looking for a reading light! This is very very tempting.
I really do love mine. It makes a huge difference to my comfort when reading ❤️
Sigh. Id love to live there.
Where did you buy your pink and red quilt on your bed? Its so lovely.
As always enjoying as I have not been there. Only to London one time.
