Rice was short...bad call, the ball was on Rice's chest when his knees were on the back side of the 35 even stretching his 5'8" body ... no way did he reach the 34 yard line.
I remember back in this era, people were asking "is Flacco elite?". In my opinion, no. I remember a playoff game against the Steelers where Flacco ran out of bounds under pressure, taking an 8 or so yard loss. He should have thrown it away, for zero sum. I know Flacco had a lot of really good playoff stats, but his regular season stats weren't that great.
terrible spot by the refs they shouldnt have got that 4th and 29 he was down at the 34.5 yard line and they spot him 3 whole feet past that after reviewing the play.....
A lot of people who vilified Ray Rice (and maybe rightfully so) forget that 4th and 29 play that without it the Ravens never get to the Super Bowl that year, much less win it.
Ray Rice was Flacco's salvation, many more YAC than receiving yards. I think I remember reading a stat that he was 1/3 or something of Baltimore's offense? But yeah, he treated his girl dirty in that elevator, whether she decided to stay with him or not.
They went 2-4 after this game, backed into the playoffs, got saved by the worst blown coverage on a 70 yard td, had the lights go out during the superbowl which killed their momentum and almost lost the game.
I was able to get to M&T for one game in '12 to see the Ravens completely destroy the Raiders 55-20, This play here against San Diego identities who the Ravens were in '12.
I watched this game live, there was a lot of controversy from Chargers fans as to where Rice's knee went down, some say he only got 28, of course Ravens' fans say he got 29 or even 30. Hell of a game, none-the-less. EDIT: Ironically, didn't Baltimore end up with Weddle the next year or maybe the year after?
@@FootballsFinest still a block in the back plain as day… it would be a ejection along with a fine and possible suspension if it happened today! 😂 just sayin
Why not full game highlights? These aren’t popular anymore, simply look at the ending videos on the main channel from any game and full game highlights of the exact same game and the full game highlights will have double the views now
Why did the ravens win when the referee at the beginning of OT said any score OTHER THAN A FIELD GOAL will win the game. They was still 1:07 left on the clock.
The obvious illegal block from behind on no. 32, Eric, was IGNORED on purpose, like the holding calls in the Super Bowl that K.C. had. The Niners would of beat them. I stopped watching wrestling because of the "planned out comes" . Rice's knee and spot should have been right on the 35, IT'S FUKING OBVIOUS!
What a weird crowd reaction to the replay/measurement...they *sounded* upset, but it's like they were content to boo. Did anyone even try to stop the game by throwing trash onto the field? And I bet not one of those so-called "fans" added Steretore's home address to his Wikipedia page before overtime started.
The play that ruined the 2012 Patriots season 😢. New England gets back to the Super Bowl if they don't convert this because they never have to meet Baltimore in the AFC championship game. Play still pisses me off!
@mariosnum1fan I thought the seeding would have been different, but I guess you're right! I thought Baltimore would have met Houston in the Wild Card game instead of Indy. Houston beat them by 30 in that regular season matchup

Right up there with the Mile High Miracle

Man I wish I could go back and relive their Super Bowl run. I still remember 9th grade me getting so excited when they converted on 4th and 29.
Is this a old game it said two days ago
Yes.

Giving up 4th & 29 is beyond embarrassing!
It's One Thing To Lose A Close Game. But to lose a game over giving up a 4th & 29 is absolutely insane
That's why I despise my Chargers a ton, we always sell the game

4th and 29 and you throw a check down lol. Ray Rice saved Joe Flacco from a lot of embarrassment with that amazing run.

perfect thing to watch before the Harbowl tonight
The Chargers lost again
I remember watching this live with friends who were ravens fan truly amazing and they don’t get a SB without this play
Holding straight up annihilated Weddle. It’s ridiculous that they took the crack back block out of the game. Boldin was an outstanding player
This was the play that saved the season for the Ravens
Wrong
Man I would give up so much to relive 2012 football again
4th & 29 at 5:45
How is no one saying this was a block in the back? That was as clear as day!
The refs had baltimore moneyline
Hearing "Dennis Pitta" took me back 10 years.
Ray Rice was such a great RB
The refs missed that huge block in the back on Whealon. Maybe even a helmet to helmet but it was a penalty
NFL Throwback with another banger!
A 59 minute crazy ending?! I’m here for it
Ray Rice with the Knockout Punch!
LAC giving up a 4th And 29 is absolutely diabolical 😂.

The line wasn't accurate sir it was a first down
Such a disgrace to give up 29 yards on 4th down.

Double replay just to waste time any one catch that towds the end????? Not cool from the film😢
This 4th & 29 play has always been controversial to me because I don't think Ray Rice even got the first down. He was short
I love Joe Flacco in the throw back vid. He was just playing (Colts) in October 2024.
You KNOW they played “Complicated” on purpose. 😂

14:45 Well you can see it was at the 44 yard line ( 7:11) so they know where it goes.
On the long fourth down play. Number 12 of the Ravens says. I am a receiver not a blocker. So I will just stand here and watch. Instead of helping.

I never thought he really got it, even as a Ravens fan
I don’t think he even got the first down.

He didn't get a 1st down,THOSE refs gave him a 1st down!

Geez that block in the back shoulda been called, nowadays it’s a suspension.
This was before the NFL got softer.
