In three examples (The boy ran./ I met my friend./ and They will try hard.) a space is left before full stop. As you know, that space is not required. The part(s) other than the base form of the sentence may be given within parenthesis. E.g., The (little) girl (in blue dress) smiled (at me). In fact this is a standard style used in linguistics. Though, although, but, etc. are usually used to introduce complex sentences. E.g., Though (Although) he studied well, he couldn't score much; he studied well, but couldn't score much. Possibly, you could show such an analysis while covering syntax. Good presentation.
Thanks for your feedback! Yes, I placed the full stop after a few spaces in three sets of examples. I'm afraid you didn't realise that I did it purposely- I wanted the phrases that were juxtaposed to fall exactly on the dots so that they would be covered. 😅 As you said, the subordinate clauses are usually introduced by the subordinating conjunctions (a few of which were dealt with in today's session). But I didn't want to dig deep into that topic, as this video is a part of the series of lessons for the beginners. Hopefully, some day, I will!
