When this game came out of it gave Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat a run of its money, literally, this game was and still is so awesome. I think its the most popular successful fighting game (2d) after Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and King of Fighters. Other bunch of fighting games of that era died out or got forgotten.
A very close friend of mine..Which was pretty much family to me, recently passed away. Killer Instinct was one of her favorite games, and I totally understand why she loved the series. I need to get myself into the series someday, too.
I LOVE KI to death! It is my favorite favorite game and I'm really happy that you updated this video by showing a brief look at the "new" KI game that was announced in 2013. Even if it's not released nor made by "Rare". Although Ken Lobb was helping with the developement. :)
2013, some pictures of the modern KI , not even the smallest amount of imformation.... I would just like to know. There was any kind of rare support? i mean, i know the game was develop by double helix, but maybe they could give moral support or something? or they were out of the question and there was only microsoft involvment?
+SamuraiMotoko According to Wikipedia, Rare did have some level of involvement with development, although I believe Double Helix and Iron Galaxy were the primary contributors.
+SamuraiMotoko there was support from former rare employees. for example Chris took his role as the classic announcer, kevin bayliss designed retro costumes in season 2 etc. I do hope he makes a video about the new KI, it's awesome!
Not a single mention of Soul Calibre or Tekken! Shame on you! Great mini-documentary though brah! I played KI Gold, but I never enjoyed it as much as Mortal Wombat. But it was better than Street Fighter whateva! Rare changed "Show No Mercy" after they heard that Atari used it in KASUMI NINJA. A Pants game which plays like a cow!
MrMethod007 I agree with everything u said except for the gameplay. the gameplay was the best it ever been on the 3rd one. I did hate the way they did the gamebreak though.
Such an underrated game. One of my favorites of all time.
Why all the girls look like Janet Jackson
If only Darkstalkers could get the same love and revival that Killer Instinct did. :-(
Rare's humor always made them standout.
Now you need to do an episode on Killer Instinct 3...
Rewatched this again in 2016.
lmaoooooooo @ 3:45 that "ultraaaaaa commmmmmboooo" was synced perfectly...lol

Very well made! I like the nod to 2013 Killer Instinct at the end.
Although KI3 wasn't developed by Rare, it'd be cool if you made a retrospective detailing the development of that game.

THE BEAT IS RARE!

Love that series. Also, you're a sick editor 🔥
even on N64 the game didn't look as good as the original. damn cartridges
How come Tekken Part 2 was never finished? I feel like this question is always ignored.
This was a great job

The Mike Tyson inspired TJ Combo was really bad!

the new characters they introduced in KI2 are so ugly and unmemorable. they chose these over cinder, spinal and riptor?? 🤔
too bad microsoft is on a kill streak to destroy all of rare classic games
Tell that to KI 3
KI and KI2 are classics........................KI3 could bite the dust. Generic character additions, sub par graphics and dull gameplay.
