      Glad it was helpful. We offer discounts for MPS members and doctors that have used Emedica courses / resources in the past. Please email info@emedica.co.uk if either of these apply to request a discount

    cn i gain enough experienc from a clinicl attachment of 1 month in gp clinic before gp training as frst job

    • @EmedicaLtd

      Whilst an attachment is better than nothing, you cannot do much in an attachment as you will only be observing. I recommend getting 6+ months NHS experience on a clinical job before starting GP training

    sir my wife forgot to put that she is on maternity leave in gp training application and put the whole time in for the job.she makes the elegibility criteria of 2 years post graduation work still without the maternity months
    how to handle the situation please guide

      Sorry to hear that. As she still meets the eligibility, hopefully it won't matter. She can email the recruitment team just to let them know. It is not possible to amend the actual application after submission

    I have read some comments about starting 1st job as gp training I am also applying gp as 1st job from india
    If u dont mind can u please state in a short response in which area do people struggle the most while starting gp training without nhs experince ,so i can reassess my pathway is it medicolegal problums or something else .
    if u can state your opinion i would be really thankful because we have shortage of guidance here in this area.

      I would recommend getting at least 6 months NHS experience before starting training. While you can enter training directly, it adds additional stress / challenges to deal with assessments / e-portfolio as well as getting familiar with a new system. Some doctors can manage this, but others really struggle. If you are going to start without NHS experience, our GPST+ course covers key things to make the most out of training, including the assessments, how to reduce the chances of complaints / medicolegal issues, MRCGP WPBA, AKT, SCA, how to get exposure to specialties not in your rotations, and practical things to maximise your training. Details at www.emedica.co.uk/gpstmaxonline.html
      Best wishes!

    do we get exempted from MSRA if we have membership of the royal colleges through MRCP/MRCS/MRCPCH/MRCOG etc

    • @EmedicaLtd

      No, those are irrelevant to MSRA. If you are applying to a specialty that uses the MSRA for recruitment then you have to sit the MSRA as part of the process.

    I got 480 in round 2 2023 of GP training and got an offer but didn’t take it. Can I get this score transferred to GP round 1 recruitment 2024 or will I have to attempt it again?
    How much score is good to get a GP training in northwest region/west midlands region, Sir?

    • @EmedicaLtd

      The applications for round 1 have closed - if you wanted to transfer you had to select that option at the time of application. There is no way to predict the score needed for specific areas. If competition continues to increase then that score may not be enough if you want specific / limited areas and if those are popular this year / others that select them score better than you. Focus on getting the best score possible if you did not choose to transfer.

    Sir i am gmc registered license to practice in apc, if i score 500 in msra can i directly move from pakistan to uk as gp st1?
    Do they provide certificate of sponsorship?
    And is it wise to take gp st1 as 1st job in nhs?

    • @EmedicaLtd

      You can, but I wouldn't recommend starting GP training without NHS experience. I recommend getting at least 6 months NHS experience before starting training.

      Thankyou for your response
      Just one more question from me can i be provided a shadowing period of lets say 15 days at start of my gp st1 training?

    • @EmedicaLtd

      You can ask your employer once you accept an offer, but shadowing like this is not usually offered for training posts.

    can i get gp training with 450marks in msra in 2024?

    • @EmedicaLtd

      Your rank with a score of 450 may be worse than 6200 in round 1 if competition continues to increase, and as there are 4100 jobs, you would be on the waiting list, and there would be a significant chance you wouldn't get an offer anywhere with that score.
