I have yet to try a Japanese EF nib. I only have Sailor and Pilot F nibs so far and since they are already very fine for my liking, I would probably do it like you and buy an affordable version to try out that nib size. The pen is gorgeous, this dark red with the gold trim and nib look really elegant. I have the Platinum Century 3776 in Bourgogne/Gold which looks somewhat similar and the contrast against the red of the Platinum President, which I also own, is the same. :) BTW, the quality of your videos is outstanding ! Crisp and clear and the focus is always right. A joy to watch !

If you are hesitant, definitely go the route of more affordable (if you're not able to try one out in person before buying). Also, consider supporting vendors with good return policies just in case you end up disliking the writing experience.
Why you tease us with those inks? You got me oohing and ahhing. I like the blood moon ink u had. I would use straight color ink with no shimmer. I be afraid it will clog that EF nib but I’m still learning
