I managed to get it right by rebooting, entering bios and from the boot option there was a "", I assumed it could've been it and selected it. It was the grub loader and I got right into Debian! About Secure Boot being enable or disabled in Windows 11, here is an information I read from a Microsoft guy - "While Windows 11 does require a TPM, the "Secure Boot" requirement is that your hardware has to be capable of supporting Secure Boot. It can be disabled on Windows 11 PCs if you have TPM 2.0". Some sites say that disabling Secure Boot in Windows 11 may cause you to stop receiving windows updates, but I think it is just some guy guessing. You should also have mentioned that nvidia drivers is only to be installed for computers with a Nvidia graphics card. Mine is Intel not Nvidia.

I used balena etcher to install debian on an old PC I bought in 2012. I used a $6 usb 32 gb drive that I bought at Walmart. Since the PC was super old and couldn’t run Windows anymore I installed it as the only operating system. If I buy a new laptop I will probably come back to this video to set up a proper dual boot system.

Wayland gave me serious problems on a Pinebook pro. It updated everything to use Wayland and then refused to boot the desktop environment. X11 has been around since the 1980s and works fine so don’t change to Wayland if you can help it or you may have an unusable PC or at least have to reinstall everything.
For those removing debian, follow the steps as shown in the video. Then to hide the EFI Volume / Partition from ThisPC ( after assigning it the letter x ) , Follow the given steps : To remove a drive letter from a drive in Command Prompt, you can use the Diskpart utility: Open an elevated Command Prompt. Type `diskpart` and press Enter. Type `list volume` and press Enter. Note the volume number for the drive letter you want to remove. Type `select volume ` and press Enter. Type `remove letter=` and press Enter. Close the elevated Command Prompt.

Net installer is very less in Size, Cause it requires internet connection to download Desktop environment and other packages to properly configure the system, DVD is like a bundle with all packages that doesn't require internet To download anything. Anything should work fine. If you have strong internet choose the net installer other wise stick to latter.

I know there is an ISO file that can be used, but it requires advanced installation and I'm not sure if it will work with other systems on different drives. About the nvidia card... i have an intel KF processor, which means it doesn´t have an integrated graphics card. The Nvidia discrete (dedicated) GPU is the only graphics card in the system. Will Debian at recognize the GC even before installing the Nvidia kernel? Don´t want to install and boot into Debian just to find out i can´t see what i´m doing xD Thanks
following this video i selected Cinnamon...it removed the windows 11 boot options from BIOS and didnt boot into linux either. Now I have "No bootable devices found" error, and no boot options in BIOS!!...basically tanked the system. now the system actually has no operating system at all. How do you increase the 100mb EFI partition because after I install Debian 12 my ThinkPad has a firmware update which cannot be installed due to the size off EFI
For that we need to create a separate EFI partition for debian using the manual partitioning method during the debian installation. In this video I used WINDOWS EFI partition that is of 100MB SIZE which can be increased further.

Hey man I followed the video and installed Debian on an empty external hard drive but every time I try to boot it just gives me a black screen. I can boot into windows by going to bios but when I select Debian to boot into it never starts up grub at all. Just a boot loop. I have Nvidia RTX 2070 how can I load up grub ?
@@kskroyaltech Yes it does and I installed it but my grub on my pc never manages to load it just shows a black screen first. I did the same tutorial on my old laptop and it worked perfectly. I was able to dual boot so I wanted to try it on my PC but I think maybe my hardware is getting in the way or something.
These issues are common and related to ACPI .. Tell me one thing, Are you able to boot into Kali linux ? If so, when you black screen, force reboot the computer using physical keys.
@@kskroyaltech I solved it by going back to an older kernel. Responding to your question yes I was able to boot into debian but, when I tried to turn it off it just hung in there showing a black screen with system messages on it.

1) If you have NVIDIA GPU then install them. 2) The default grub timeout limit is 5 seconds. For beginners it would be easy for them if grub timeout is increased.

If your windows 10 is booted in UEFI mode with GPT partition, the deletion process of debian Is same mentioned in the video. Check the BIOS Mode type *msinfo32* inside command prompt , you will see BIOS MODE. If it says Legacy, do not use the deletion method mentioned in this video, use EASY BCD tool.
Edit the GRUB Configuration file: sudo nano /etc/default/grub change the below line from this : *GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"* to *GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash loglevel=3"* then try this command: *sudo update-grub*

@@mykhalex yeah i got a motherboard that wasnt a dell piece of trash. Also using a separate hard drive and going into the uefi to select debian. My new asus motherboard can easily detect it on a separate drive and boot directly into it.

Do one thing. Did u try booting into UEFI boot menu, if so look for any GRUB bootloader.

i don't think an unstable release and a stable release will have a different way to dual boot

Why did u delete windows 11 Boot entires ?
I can see the grub menu and boot into Debian, but windows 11 is not on the boot options list. Any suggestions? I tried os-prober but no results
After using OS Prober did u update grub with
sudo update-grub

@@mykhalex yeah i got a motherboard that wasnt a dell piece of trash. Also using a separate hard drive and going into the uefi to select debian. My new asus motherboard can easily detect it on a separate drive and boot directly into it.

@@mykhalex get another one. You can get them under 100 for a decent one from a few years ago all day.
