Gonna be honest, I started the vid by skipping straight to see how SHOOK you would be with the production switch up in “What Kind Of Man” HAHAHAHAH 😜 This masterpiece is a master class on dancing, bopping, and crying thru the pain and heartbreak. Florence really is a witch that knows how to immerse us into her world and feelings 🥰 One of my all-time fave albums, so glad you loved it toooooo!! Thank you as always!! 💙💙💙

Isabella was the original Machine! One of their early band names was Florence Robot / Isa Machine (when it was just the two of them). Then they changed it to Florence + the Machine. Another one of their names were Florrible and Misrabella, which actually has an EP!!
the way she performs the songs off this album ive seen videos where she is just spinning and holing her arms out during the immense instrumentals ugh this album is better than therapy! I recommend listening to it in headphones at max volume when you are walking in the rain, no umbrella

Hear me out, the lyrical storytelling in Queen Of Peace is just so beautiful, it’s like a myth, the king who went mad when his son was lost in battle and the daughter who stepped up when she was too young, ithe imagery in that song and the feeling when you just shout/scream/sing the chorus, so theraputic!

This song almost didn't make the album. Florence felt uneasy about what the song meant and how she had stripped every instrument down.
The song is loosely inspired by a poem called Letters to Frida. The line "you had to have him, and so you did" is inspired by the poem.

Yes Ben!! I know a lot of people have said it, but seriously, the bonus tracks are incredible. Hiding, Make Up Your Mind, and Which Witch are three of my favourite Florence songs ever. Even if it’s just on your own time, I’m sure you will love them 💕

Woooo! My first (and only so far) tattoo is this album logo; the air over water triangle alchemy symbols. Interestingly enough, the symbols also correlate to my signs. Aquarius / air / moon / mind / over Pisces / water / emotions.

St. Jude is the patron saint of the lost causes and was also a hurricane that hit Europe in 2010-ish. I believe the song is about the storm confining Florence and her partner in a room and forcing them to confront each other, making her realise that their relationship was over. It's such a beautiful song and this album as a whole is a masterpiece. I really don't remember listening to an album that had this kind of impact on me. If you really like her, you should listen do High as Hope, which is her most recent work. It is more stripped-down, but beautiful still.

Ship to wreck is about Florence self destructive side. She wonders if the relationship ended because of her so she compares the relationship to a ship to wreck ( fun fact this is only song about water since ceremonials was almost about it lol )

HBHBHB is my favourite track on this album. What kind of man, mother, Queen of peace and deluxe track Which witch are probably my top 5. Got to see Florence on this tour and became a big fan of the band.
Adore Florence's latest 3 albums, Ceremonials, HBHBHB and High as hope - the latest one if different from the previous albums, there is some real mastery and control that it stands out to the rest for me and is my most revisited album so highly recommend trying it ^_^

@@bennshouts hahahaha, tecnically and musically HBHBHB is the superior one, her Magnus Opus, but High as Hope is so different bc it's so raw, so sober, pure and honest. No metaphores, no tales; almost like sung poems. Also High as Hope is her only album where she stopped smoking, drinking and taking drUgS.

The visuals for this album definitely makes the songs take a much darker sadder angrier meaning xD She says that she loves hiding deep sadness in happy sounds, especially the drums and now I wish I could go back to hearing these as happy songs too I---
Isabella is the 'Machine' part of the band, she's sort of Florence's other half since they started and writes the music to Florence's harmonies and lyrics.
Also random sidenote coz song #6: Delilah in the bible was the wife? consort? of Samson who posed a threat to the Philistines because of his superhuman strength. Delilah was bribed by the Philistines to find out where his power came from, to which he eventually confided in her, and told her that it was from his hair. She then betrays him and cuts it off to turn him in to the Philistine lords...
my personal interpretation of the lyrics and the music itself is her knowing she fxcked this relationship up by being destructive and regretting it and not knowing how to move past the regret (The album is about her self-destructive behaviour and how it affects everyone around her and finding her way out into the light, the visuals represent the album as Florence going through the 9 rings of hell like in Dante's Inferno)
I don't know why everything is so grandiose with Florence but I love it xD She takes these simple ideas or emotions and turns them into a whole melodrama or opera iconic witch kweeeen
