I was shocked when in reality only the 3% percent of the music produced was made by women, thank you to both of you, for making our lives much more exciting with your lovely music and astounishing vocals 😭💕
I am not surprised at all. Not that women can't do it, in fact probably better, it's that they as a group have no interest. I think lauvey is musical brilliance. The likes of which we have never seen and for sure won't see again in our lifetime. Women today, as I suspect always, would rather be in front of the camera and not behind. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
@@fingerpickingood1900 They said "top-100 producers" for a reason. A producer is not a synonym for writer/singer/performer, which they talk about in the video. From a quick Google search, there are at least 10 times more female artists than 3% in the top 100 in 2022. And that's just in the top 100, which, frankly speaking, is only the golden standard for those who care about money. Also, Laufey is great, but she is not singular, there are plenty of equally amazing female artists out there. Edit: Just to be clear, I'm 100% against the idea that producing is a dude only thing. You comment seems to imply that this is how it will stay forever, because its fundementally against female nature to be a producer. That's just dumb.
First you need to get girls into music work hard on music production software. In my generation you have to be interested in computer tech to get into the app world. This generation has it embedded in their consciousness. Look forward to more self-taught talents!
Today I came home from college and I was very tired. I was surprised when I saw that Laufey posted a new song. I lay on my bed and listened. It was so magical that I fell asleep. Now TH-cam recommend this video to me and it's amazing to know that Laufey actually intended the song to be a lullaby. It worked perfectly for me 😊
it's not the music, it's the positively ecstatic warm happies that Laufey is radiating here with Eunike, the excitement, genuine vibrant highs with the big music picture. In the 70s we called it the buzz and it's the roots of all music enjoyment. It was a sheer delight to watch the blending of 2 hearts and souls here to create music. I haven't seen such heartfelt happiness like this for a long time. It was just pure magic ❤ thank you ladies, wishing you both all positively good things in life 🌟
Laufey really inspired 13 year old me as i grew up playing classical music, ive been a lauver since day 1 and im proud of it!!!! i am a mixed girl who also grew up in iceland and the us wich makes laufey inspire me even more.i am 17, icelandic chinese and senegalese an a lauver/jazzy girl(it is in my DNA).i hope I'll meet her one day and be able to make music is such amazing studios!!! lots of love Julia
An hour and a half for that orchestral work? Not to mention Laufey's talent, Eunike's arrangement is fabulous. It's just right for the song. Perfect it is.
Even with 3 hours, that clip of music turned out SOO magical! As a person that grew on classical music this is so inspiring to see 🤍🤍 Thank you Bose for this collaboration ✨
I remember watching both separately and growing, and then they make this awesome track! I felt chills from listening to this, and I hope I can soon listen to the whole song!
This video made me fall in love with Laufey again. What an amazing vision to promote Women in Music. Looking forward to future collab of Eunike and Laufey again, and kudos to Bose for making this great collab happen.
It's wonderfully inspiring to see these young talented women produce music with so much passion, thanks for letting us have a peek at your artistry, well done ladies!
Caution: geniuses at work. Eunike came from an Indonesian village to here... mighty impressive. I hope this is the beginning of a long and illustrious musical partnership.
i thought eunike is indo and i was right lol i was listening to her accent and its sounded like home !! wow this combo just gave me goose bumps !! bravo to both !!
9:40 I may have not grown up with classical music, but this and her music make me want to learn how to produce, write beautiful lyrics, and play instruments
It's not just the music that is wonderful here but the sound quality is much better than on her other studio work. I don't credit Bose but the women producer. Women are more sensitive to excessive compression as used on Laufey's two CDs. Jazz is all about the feeling and expression, but compression literally squeezes the life out of the music to make is louder at the cost of losing the human emotions expressed in the dynamics. The loudness wars of the 1990's are over, but malady lingers on in the bad habits handed down from then. The synthesizer sounds more like real acoustical instruments than the real acoustical instruments after brutal compression on the CDs. I sure hope this is not the last time she works with Ms. Tanzil.
this was crazy good only problem is most music is made for your car. aka, compressed older stuff had more sound stage and depth .but her voice is so dam good and in some songs haunting and all ways a emotional connection with listener
If more music is produced by men that is due to natural interests, who is driven to achieve in what way. It's not about sexism or gate keeping, those arguments hold no water There is nothing stopping ladies from making music in 2024.
If a *hyper-small amount of music* is produced by women, it's not the fault of anyone. Women are free to do what they want artistically. In the West, female musical artists can do what they want. If there is less music made by women, perhaps they're not as driven to make music as a product that's public or consumable. Men are not to blame for what women choose to do. Even the idea is outdated.
I neeeeeeed laufey to work with eunike again in her next album!!!! this was sooooo magical omg
Laufey and Eunike's combo is just something else. I hope they'd collab more in the future!
ELLO?? WHY ISNT THIS ON SPOTIFY?? IM SITTIN HERE WAITIN!!
I love how inspiring this is, the fact that they can create something so beautiful is incredible, it's good seeing women producing music, I love this.

I need a source for that. Define "popular music", "produced by", "women".
You read that wrong
